Phoenix Upper Main is the next incarnation of the legendary Phoenix Emporium in Historic Ellicott City. We have moved up the hill from our home of 40 years and merged with Ellicott Mills Brewing Company. Following an extraordinary renovation with Chef Gordon Ramsay, we have reopened as Phoenix Upper Main. Our menu offers unique fare combining the best of the Phoenix's comfort tavern fare with the European influences of Ellicott Mills under Chef Ramsay's guidance. I was disappointed in this trip to the Brewing Company. While the service was very good, all of our plates came out at the same time, so we were trying to eat salads with entrees, even though we had asked the salads to come out first. I had a seafood platter which was lukewarm--but my husband said his steak was perfect. For what we got, I thought the food was overpriced. Not sure I'll go back again.

Our lunch of 3 salads, 2 coffees and 1 hot tea totaled $60! The salads were fine but nothing special.

Beer was pretty tasty, and so was the food. Pricey, but good ambiance. We tried some interesting dishes, like Cajun Alligator and a Lobster Melt. Service could have been more attentive, but our experience was good overall
