Dorrego’s, is named for the famed Plaza Dorrego, a public square located in the historic San Telmo neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Hotel Valencia Riverwalk draws inspiration from the rich culinary heritage of Argentina. He carries a rich history of many hotels and restaurants that brings a diverse culinary experience to our table. An extensive wine list will be a focal point for diners. The restaurant’s décor reflects the Spanish Colonial design and architectural heritage of Argentina, with a touch of Parisian bistro panache. Dorrego’s also features a new restaurant bar, and the welcoming space is ideal for gathering and lingering. Dorrego’s appealing terrace features additional seating topped with comfortable Spanish/Mediterranean-style cushions. The terrace features numerous planter pots, which blend the space into its tranquil River Walk setting.

Good overall experience! Food good and nice and hot! Just had many different people approach take was not sure who actual server was, had 3 different people take orders from us. Just a bit confused on their service system .

The restaurant is small. Depending on where you are seated the sun will blind you at certain times (no blinds to lower to help with this issue) and sound reverberates so it will feel like other patrons are talking right into your ear even though they are yards away. The establishment must not know how to store their wine as the bottle we ordered ( a Mendel Malbec 2020) had a dried out cork broke into pieces and the wine was compromised. We ordered two small plates, the beef empanadas and the grilled octopus salad with white beans both of which were well prepared. Our main entre was mixed. Hubby ordered the lamb shank with herbed goat cheese polenta. The braised lamb shank was well seasoned and very tender and he enjoyed it very much. I ordered the chefs "take on" Paella and was not as pleased. Just not like anything I have ever had and it was way off expectations. There was a strange seasoning there very off putting and the rice was an attempt at a risotto I think that failed. The mussels and clams were nice but the shrimp and scallops were tough. I wouldn't recommend it. The service was good and our waitress very attentive but not overly. Overall I would give this restaurant another chance but stay away from the Paella.

Conveniently located near the Majestic theYer, perfect place for pre-performance dinner. Delicious food, well prepared, amazing wait person! Who could ask for more!!

We celebrated our anniversary here and it was absolutely amazing! Ribeye and Lamb Shank were perfect Our server was one of the best we ever had. Absolutely love this place and will try breakfast next!

The food was delicious. We had a New York steak, medium rare, and it was perfectly cooked. The Caesar salad excellent as well. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us navigate the cuts of meat. He gave us just the right amount of attention.

My family and I were excited and looking forward to attending this brunch but we were highly disappointed with this dining experience. Unfortunately not one single area lived up to our expectations. The meal was characterized by serious service miscues, unprepared servers and lackluster food. To be specific, we encountered the following issues at this brunch: * Our table was being hurriedly reset as we were standing table side. * The table linens were very obviously not changed from the previous diners and a napkin was put in place to cover the food stains on the table linens. * Unfortunately there was a language barrier with our original and secondary servers which led to several service problems. * We were surprised to see completely empty food sections and actually had to locate someone to get word to food staff that they were out at multiple food stations. * I had to make several requests (at least four times) for glasses of water refills for our table. * I had to make multiple requests for a simple cup of coffee for my wife as well as for salt and pepper for our table. * The salad station seemed to be always out of several food items. After three tries we skipped this station altogether. This was quite simply not a good dining experience at all for my family and I.

For Mother’s Day brunch the food was layed out nice. Easy to maneuver from station to station. The carving station and omelette station were quick moving. The bottomless mimosas was a nice addition. As for the food and service it was a little underwhelming. The eggs Benedict were nicely cooked, but cold. All the food was luke warm to cold. The carving station had a beautiful prime rib. It too was luke warm. The spice on the chicken was not good. My wife couldn’t take more than a couple of bites. The service too was underwhelming. I had to ask someone who our waiter was. We had no water, or no greeting acknowledging our arrival. I expected better for Mother’s Day.

My wife’s Mother’s Day brunch was awesome. The experience and food was all amazing. We’ve only been in San Antonio since 2018, we are still finding gems like this here. Thank you for great service and recommendations for a staycation next time!!!
