   Dining area is lower level and very dark. There was a young baby at the next table crying which was annoying and there was no escape to another part of the restaurant. Also waitress submitted the wrong order for one of us so my friend ate her dinner while I waited. As she was finishing, I received my entree. Waitress said she pressed the wrong button in the kitchen. I would not go back.

   First trip to Bacaro based on an article that listed some neighborhood favorites of NYC chefs. Had a bit of trouble finding the place thanks to some very subtle signage on a street I've rarely, if ever, walked down on the LES. Our server was a delight. Wish I knew her name so I could give her more props. We were seated near the downstairs bar -- quite a noisy spot between the "energetic" conversations being had over a loud sound system blasting out music. The wine selection was great. The food delicious. Will we return? You bet. But next time I would request a table in one of the other areas downstairs to ensure conversation isn't stymied by the noise level.

   The meal it self was so so. The taste was very nice, but lacked presentation, I do not feel that all of the senses were awakened. The restaurant gets extremely noisy, so this is not for conversations.

   A very special little out of the way find! Excellent wine selections. Fried oysters were delicious! Our server Paulo was very knowledgeable about the wines and steered us to a very special Wine- Luigi Bardana Dragon Langhe Bianco . Ask for it !
