Bistro Maxine has been serving Authentic French Crêpes in Palo Alto since 2009. The traditional "hole in the wall Crêperie" was the smallest restaurant in Palo Alto with a liquor license. An expansion in 2015 allowed Bistro Maxine to triple its original size; the combined space with a beautiful european look and feel can accommodate up to 52 patrons, including Paris style sidewalk seating which is very popular at all times of day. Crêpes originated in Brittany, and are still very much part of the French dining experience all over France. In addition to its delightful savory and sweet crêpes, Bistro Maxine also offers a traditional french onion soup, a "Prix fixe menu" in the evening, amongst other French fare. To complement your meal, a carefully selected craft beers and cider on tap was added to the menu as part of the expansion, as well as an enhanced wine selection from the award wining Robert Hall Winery of Paso Robles.

To start and in all fairness, we we there at a tweener time. We also, were still on CST, craving brunch, rather than breakfast or lunch. The place is pretty humble, but not in a Paris sort of humble. The crepes were overly dry and barely saved by the creme fraiche. Also, the accompanying fruit was just 1 level above canned fruit cocktail. Maybe the kids at Stanford like this place, but to others there are better options in Pali Alto.

I had the brioche French Toast and my friend had the strawberry crepes. Both items were excellent. Lots of fresh fruit on the side. Service was outstanding. Friendly and attentive.

An intimate and gourmet meal with attention to the details. Great music, decorum and airy dinning area makes the overall experience unique and worth the trip.

Superb French Bistro in downtown. Fun to go with friends or the family. Many options for a variety of sweet or savory crepes, sandwiches & salads. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Value for money. Go for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.

I sent an email to you earlier. Bistro Maxine was closed at the time of our reservation! We arrived at 6:15 on Jan. 28 and the store was dark. No explanation posted. The person in the business next door said she thought they had some staffing problem. I made this reservation about 5 hours before the time. I am surprised that I received a confirmation email. I assumed that OpenTable would have been in touch with the restaurant.

Great place for a casual breakfast! Very cozy atmosphere, our 9 yr old son declared that the food was " the best ever ", it is quite a compliment coming from a picky 9 yr old eater. We'll definitely come back for more of French cuisine!

Went here for the first time after finding it online, I had been craving crepes and I was not disappointed, It's an hour from my house, but would go again.

Met colleague for dinner. Was able to choose from most tables. We were not rushed. Menu had lots of good options for savory and sweet crepes and looked authentic as the menus I've seen in Paris. Had the savory crepe with egg, ham, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese with buckwheat crepe batter. I thought the egg would come on top but it was inside. The buckwheat crepe was a bit dry. Had the sautéed apple and cinnamon sweet crepe. There was not much apple. Overall I think the menu looked more promising than what actually came out. But at least it was not a pricey place.
