Took an hour to get rolls that were just ok. Overpriced for the quality. Server was attentive but an hour from sit down to food is unacceptable.

Food and service always great. Getting the bill always seems to create sticker shock. Family of 4, apps, entrees and no alcohol over $300 just seems crazy!

We frequently dine at Banbu Sushi. It’s become our regular, decompress Friday go-to spot. Creative, high quality and delicious food and drink offerings, consistently excellent and friendly service (special thanks to wonderful Cass who has taken care of us several times!) keep us coming back! Depending on where your table is will change the rating on ambiance. Many places/tables warrant 5 stars while others not (due to kitchen traffic, noise level, temperature variance). It’s has always still been a wonderful experience and we’re so glad Banbu Sushi is thriving!!

If I could give this restaurant 10 starts I would. Always fresh and the service is amazing. Jalapeño poppers with eel sauce is a must. The lemon-cilantro roll is a favorite! Vegetable fried rice is fantastic. The menu is not just for sushi lovers, it will accommodate the entire family, especially kids. Must try. A true hidden gem in the La Mesa.
