I had the buffalo mac and it was pretty good. The cocktail with cayenne was the highlight of the visit. My second drink - a twist on a pina colada - was undrinkable and came almost 30 minutes after I ordered it. I had given up on it ever coming, but it arrived as we were finishing our dinner. Among our group of 10, no one had a great meal, but we had a few complaints (to me, nothing bad enough to complain to the restaurant). For example, the ahi tuna tacos were cooked all the way through the fish. No one had ever seen ahi cooked all the way! It was reminiscent of tuna from a can. The cheese and meats tray was meh. The cheese was basically cheese singles sliced into triangles. And while I have loved honey with a charcuterie plate before, a random ball of honeycomb made no sense in the context of this savory tray. The few crackers were like the cheap ones from the grocery store. As I said, nothing was bad enough to complain or send back, but no one had a particularly good experience. It was fine at best.

Lily was our server and did an excellent job - friendly, prompt and informative. This was a group dinner, heavy on appetizers and drinks with some folks enjoying entrees. We liked some appetizers better than others: avocado toast, wings and Mac and cheese were favorites. We were happy to be there on Wednesday for 1/2 price bottles of wine. Convenient to Petco. We would go back!

The service was awful and our food was worse. The only positive about the experience was the Smokey Paloma.

We came here for a birthday celebration before heading to a concert at Petco Field. Location is good, allows the opportunity to experience Gaslamp District along the way! Close enough to convention center and marina too. Ambiance was nice and food delicious. Would recommend the Mac and cheese!

Wow so disappointed ! Super nice ambiance and nice outdoor dining however no waiters. We were seated immediately in a nice outdoor table. We then waited for about 15 minutes for a server. Had to go to the indoor bar and complain. About 5 minutes later the bartender had to come out and take our order. Finally drinks arrived after we'd been there at least 30 minutes. Food order took forever, I had to go back to the bar to order a drink because a server never came back to check on us. Burgers were ordered med/well and came out overcooked. Fish in the fish tacos was dry and tough. Our food was delivered with no condiments or silverware, we had to get some from the bar. If you have no server for outside then explain that and have us sit inside as it wasn't that busy. An apology up front and a free drink or appetizer would have made a big difference.

If I moved to San Diego, this would be my go to for brunch, I know, I know, there are so many great places to eat, but this place offers a comfy feel that is perfect for nursing a hangover or playing with the table next to you kid. I had the shrimp and grits, with a side of sausage, and because I love avocado toast, I just had to try it😁... every single thing was so yummy. The grits were not instant and the sauce the shrimp was in, had just the right amount of spice, it also was served with eggs, which I’ve always had to ask for a side of in other places. The avocado toast was not paste but chunks of real avocado well seasoned on sourdough with a perfectly pouched egg, and the Louisiana style sausage that I asked for as a side, was spicy just the way I like it. The GM Mario stopped by to say hi and to see if all was well, he’s super cool and teddy bear like (don’t let his size or beard fool you😀). I love meeting people from the East Coast that made California home, my bartend is from NJ and made a martini type cocktail with turmeric, it was strong, not a get f’d up strong but an, oh this is what I needed strong. All in all just a great vibe, great food, and great drinks...

We celebrated our 20th anniversary here. The hostess greeted us with a “Happy Anniversary” and led us to a table already set for us. The server also acknowledged our special occasion - all night long actually - which was very nice. We enjoyed the 1/2 price bottle of wine and 1/2 price charcuterie board. Both were excellent choices!!! We had the gnocchi and mushroom pasta dishes - both excellent!!!! They then served us a peanut butter ice cream and chocolate cake dessert for our anniversary, compliments of the house. There was a musician playing great tunes who was excellent as well. Great voice, great on instruments. We will definitely eat here again!
