The Fifth Element, in its new incarnation, is a casual-hip dining hangout populated by locals, destination diners and tourists alike. The interior is finished with a winning combination of rustic and industrial decor. Its wide open space is hardly cold or sterile. It is warm and welcoming, made so by earth-toned paints, water walls, touches of soft upholstered furniture and a prodigious bar built from reclaimed old growth pine. Like the space in which it is served, the food of The Fifth Element is multi-textured. Chef Chris DePerro builds flavors that evoke satisfying feelings of home cooking, but done by the hand of a pro. In no way is his food homespun. It is well thought out. It is seasonal. It is fresh. Simply, it is food you crave.

The food was good. It took a long time for us to get served and a long time for us to get a bill. The noise level is also pretty loud but overall it was a 4 star experience.

We looked at the menu 5 times before deciding what to eat and the food needed more flavor. Two of us got the salmon with couscous, and one of us got the burger. The place looks nice, the staff is good, the food so so. Next time I'll check the menu before I go. I've had great meals there before, so I was disappointed.

Loved the ambiance of the place and the service was great! The food was OK. The menu is pretty limited; I wish there were more options to choose from. Many of the items could be made gluten free upon request, which was nice. The prices were OK. Worth a try if you are not too picky of an eater.

Usually love their their mussels but instead tried the barramundi a non-local fish white fish that was very good. Forgive me. A bit noisy, but a nice experience.

Imaginative presentation and preparation of some classic dishes (fried onion appetizer, chicken paillard) and some innovative dishes and ingredients (barramundi, skate). Good, well-priced wine list, but did not have some of the wines that were listed... Service was efficient, discreet, and patient. Decor is plain in the eating area, glorious at the bar.
