   There are times as a solo diner where sitting at the bar is perfect. Today, I was seated in a lovely corner of the restaurant where I could watch the room with its tendrilled chandeliers fill with eager diners like ocean waves returning inland from the sea. Why was I there? The grilled octopus served in beautiful porcelain in olive oil, capers, and onions with a sprinkle of paprika had caught my attention. The shape of the dishes made it hard to figure out the best way to rest your flatware, but the food is so tasty you don’t want to put them down. The mixed vegetable on a foundation of parsnip purée was also exactly what I didn’t know I needed. While I am not a bread and butter fanatic, this evening I could not stop chewing on the hearty artisanal loaf. It was a lovely meal and the servers were equally attentive and engaging without being obtrusive. Definitely will return when I’m next in town.

   The cocktails were interesting, fun and tasty. The staff was excellent. We had the octopus and the lobster gnocchi for apps. Both were outstanding. For the main we had the paella. The paella was good, but it was too moist. The rice did not have the crispness, we usually expect, but the seafood was generous and perfectly cooked. The chocolate tort was fantastic. I thought it was a great night out and a reasonable value. .

   It was perfect! We celebrated our son’s 28th Birthday. They sat us at a perfect table & made it special with sweet touches - hand written card, boxed the champagne cork for him to take home & Happy Birthday written on his dessert plate. This was one of many times we have celebrated a birthday here. Food was delicious - grilled squid with squid ink, grilled octopus, refreshing snow pea salad, perfectly seasoned/cooked ribeye, fabulous monkfish! It was hard to decide which was our favorite! It is most definitely our favorite restaurant in Boston!

   First, we made reservations about six weeks in advance and had to change the number of guests twice, including the day before, and the staff was extremely accommodating. The food was great and the service was superb. This is a place to go for a great meal with friends. We were visiting, or it would be on our regular rotation!

   Hamachi was amazing! Grilled octopus was very good, although I have had some great octopus so it was hard to give it an amazing score. Great bartender! Easy in and out. Would visit again next time I am in town.

   I’ve eaten there many times and I keep coming back. I’m a chef and a restaurant owner and I really love this place and I never get tired of the food. from the moment you walk in when you get greeted at the door, brought to your table, greeted by your server and presented all the great food, all the way to the end it’s a great experience. Some people might find it expensive, but they are giving me exactly what I paid for if not more.

    Lovely meal at the bar. We were well taken care and had plenty of space. It is a nice set up for a quick meal but we were never rushed. Food was awesome too.
