Food is the main draw for this place. Don’t go for the service. Expect teenagers working fast food windows kind of service. But hats off the the chef and kitchen crew.

We had a lovely lunch at the Deck. Our server, Cassidy, was terrific. We will be back, and we will request Cassidy again.

Great service - bartender Joe! Can’t beat the location. Didn’t love the Lobster Quesadilla, but it was good (too many peppers, couldn’t find many lobster pieces). My partner enjoyed his Mahi Sandwich.

Upon arrival the hostess upstairs confirmed we were there for The Deck then told us to “head downstairs, they have tables open.” We did and saw six tables open with no one waiting & no hostess so we seated ourselves at a 2-top. Ten minutes later a very nice woman came to our table and said there’s a waiting list so we’d need to put our names in and indicated it was a 45-60 minute wait. We did as she asked and our wait began. Twenty minutes went by and the entire time there were 6-8 tables open. I assumed that wait list guests had been paged but not claimed their table yet. Then a random party of 3 came down and asked if there’s open seating. We said they had to check-in and it would be a 45-60 min wait. They put their names in and were immediately seated! I asked why they just showed up and were seated but we’re still waiting with 6 tables open. The hostess said only groups of 3 or 4 could be seated at a 4-top so we had to keep waiting. She then said she just talked to the mgr who ok'd us at a larger tables “because we aren’t busy right now;" 10 minutes later we were seated at a 2-top right next to the original table we were asked to vacate a half hour earlier. After being seated a man came to our table and said he's the manager and was told we had a bad experience. I briefly recapped the above and he explained that they were waiting for waitlist guests who hadn’t claimed tables yet. I pointed out the walk-in trio that was seated without delay and he seemed to be unaware of them and had no answer for it. I’m sure The Deck does plenty of business and one unhappy customer won’t make a difference to their bottom line but I certainly can’t see myself coming back again for table service. On a final note, 3 employees were aware that we had a rough experience so I was surprised that they didn't comp at least some of our tab. It’s not that $73 is large sum of money but if they were my employees I’d want them to do something to make an unhappy situation better.

We were able to enjoy a great meal overlooking the ocean and watch the sunset. Fun crowd, nice weather and good cocktail list.

The Deck is a fun and lively outdoor restaurant that's just a few feet above the sand, with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and sunsets. Good drinks menu, decent (but not amazing) food - but you'll be more intrigued with the views of the ocean, and the ecelctic mix of guests at tables and the bar.

I have been to The Deck many times and this is one of my favorite places to bring friends from out of town and to celebrate birthdays because it is right on the water in Laguna Beach!! Heaven!! But this past time I was very disappointed with the service. We were there celebrating a birthday and there were six of us and we barely saw our server and once we finished our food our plates sat there for at least 20 to 30 minutes until we finally asked to have them picked up. I was hoping to have a dessert for our birthday girl but we did not have time. We also would have ordered more wine and cocktails but no one asked. But over-all The Deck is an amazing place to eat and because of the view and location "they" can get away with pretty much anything!!

Lif brings you amazing things when you try new adventures. I booked a reservation, site unseen and loved every second. Look for Tony at the bar - not the bar tender, just a wonderful man from NY at the bar entertaining people with stories. Service, ambiance and food are amazing and worth another trip.

It was pleasant. I may just have too high of a standard for restaurants in Laguna Beach that are rated as highly as this one, but the food was a little overpriced for the quality. It was good, but it wasn't very good and it certainly wasn't great. Like I said, I was expecting an incredible experience and it was just okay.

This is a great beach restaurant. We were staying in the hotel and reserved ahead of time to be there in time for sunset. Amazing view, on the beach. Good food and adequate wine selection. Very energetic place. Highly recommend.
