   Disappointing Mother's Day Experience at Top of the Pontch Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 star) Our visit to the Top of the Pontch restaurant on Mother's Day was a major letdown. The lackluster food quality left much to be desired - cold, chewy, and unappetizing. It felt like we were served a hasty selection straight from a wholesale store rather than a fine dining establishment. To add to the disappointment, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, failing to check on our table. I had to personally track them down just to request a simple cup of coffee. This level of neglect is unacceptable, particularly on a day meant for celebrating mothers. I left the restaurant feeling deeply dissatisfied and will not be returning. Top of the Pontch has a long way to go in terms of food quality and customer service before I could consider recommending it to anyone. It's a shame that such a special occasion turned out to be such a disappointing experience.

   We basically paid $64 per person for breakfast , it was 9 of us all together, and there was not a biscuit, pancake, or waffle in the house! Fried chicken would also have been nice. We should have cooked our own food; it would have been better! 🤗

   How is it that a beautiful place like this is so neglected. They need to close and hire new management. Not recommended at all, unfortunately.

   I’ve lived in Detroit for roughly 10 years and this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in my time here. Our server was not friendly, the service was also extremely slow, the booth we sat in had stains all over it, and the steak we ordered (which we were never asked how we wanted it cooked) was room temperature. The drinks we ordered were both very poorly made, we did not finish them when we will typically have 2-3 drinks each at a dinner. On top of it all we waited about 30 minutes for our bill to come back to us after we asked our server for it. We were very excited and hopeful that this restaurant would be another place to add to our long list of amazing Detroit restaurants, unfortunately it landed in the category that I would not go back even if the meal was free of charge.

   Extremely poor service. Watched multiple other tables come in and out before we were served our entree. The menu was a set 4 course meal. I’m writing this from the table currently. We have been here for 2 hours 32 minutes from the time we were seated and we are still awaiting our final course. I preferred the food at Texas road house and for a $75/plate meal that is simply unacceptable.

   For $210, you could get a lot more. We had no leftovers. We always do. Small plates (I mean: SMALL) and the apps were OK. The filet was fantastic. The dessert was good but simple stuff, like hardened caramel underneath the ice cream, kept this place from reaching its potential. My server was very nice, but seemed extremely fresh to the position. Kept forgetting stuff and leaving us hanging, then apologizing. Note: we were 1 of maybe 4 couples in the entire restaurant. The venue and the view and the decor were incredible. Seriously, if this place can improve the small stuff it can justify a $500 price tag with the ambience and real estate. However, until they do, it’s just a good place to sit down and enjoy the view and a $25 bottle of wine (very good pricing!)

   When this place first opened years ago under different management, the service and food was amazing. Not sure what has happened since then but my experience was subpar and I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone else. There were cheap flower decorations on the floor and across from where we were seated, there was a red bucket on the ground with dirty water and and wash cloth just sitting out which remained there the entire duration of our brunch. The dining chairs were velvet with and ivory colored which was visibly dirty and looked unsanitary. All of our chairs had dirty finger marks on them due to the light color which made it look even worse. No table clothes on the uneven adjoined tables and dust on the vents next to our table. The food was mediocre and provided a very limited variety for the price we paid. No vegetable option at all, no sides aside from two kinds of potatoes, or fruit, and dry turkey. The staff kept complaining how understaffed they were. Overall, very dissatisfied with everything and disappointed.

    All is well I would have thought for 65 per person you would have a more vast selection of premium food items but they didn't but overall my family enjoyed the view
