  • "My friend and I each ordered the crab and artichoke sandwich at the Alaska Love special price ($9.07). It was delicious and a very good value. We also split a spinach salad and raspberry sorbet. Love the egg mustard dressing on the salad. That dressing is still as good as it was 30 years ago when I first dined at S&S. The sorbet came with a raspberry sauce and was also very flavorful. Great food, excellent service, and views of the inlet, what more could a diner ask for?"

  • "I knew that taking another couple out for dinner at Simon & Seafort's was not going to be cheap but for $250 I really expected more. Service was good and we were seated almost immediately because we had a reservation. First thing I noticed was the noise level, it was so loud I could barely hear our waiter tell us about that evenings dinner specials. The activity and noise level reminded me more of a bar scene than an upscale fine dining restaurant. The food was average and not outstanding like I had heard from friends. I had the King Salmon which was a bit overdone on one end and under cooked on the other. My wife had the Halibut Cheeks which I tried and I was sorely disappointed. It was overcooked and seemed old to me. Dessert was good."

  • "We had dinner our second to last night in Alaska. The food and service were outstanding. I couldn't decide between two fish dishes so the waiter recommended half and half and it was perfect. We came back for drinks in the bar the next day and it was great. Beautiful view."

  • " I am lactose intolerant and like to err on the side of caution when ordering food, particularly salad dressing. When I asked for a balsamic dressing instead of a creamy egg dressing, I was told that he did not think it would be a good choice and also did not know if they had balsamic dressing. He ended up just bringing out vinegar. He never asked if we were doing okay and when our food finally showed up, my $40.00 salmon was so under cooked that it was mushy on the inside. After bringing this to our waiter's attention he mumbled something and took it without apologizing. He then did not show up again until bringing our check. The only good thing about our experience at Simon and Seafort's was that he comped my order."

  • "The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the service was amazing! The view is so breathtaking it's enough to go and just have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. The food was slightly disappointing however for what you pay for. My halibut came with coconut rice; the rice was undercooked and crispy. My husband ordered the seafood louie. It came with 1 or 2 items that were not listed on the menu but on the salad and he was not a fan of that. It could just be a personal preference. The salad did have a lot of meat which was great. I was just thinking for the amount of money we spent it was disappointing. We could be willing to give it a second go however."

  • "Simon & Seafort's was a recommendation from a bus driver. He was absolutely correct. The food is wonderful and the view was unbelievable. Would recommend very highly the Brie appetizer and the crab stuffed halibut. My dining companion had the halibut cheeks and they received very high marks also. The only detraction from the meal was the coffee. It arrived cold and when replaced, was bitter."

  • "Best seafood in Anchorage - we ate at several places -Simon & Seafort's has the best seafood - My wife had Halibut Cheeks - she loved them. I had the Red King Crab Legs- fresh and cook perfectly. If I ever make it back to Anchorage - it will be the first place I go to eat."

  • "I made a reservation, but still had to wait for a seat. On the reservation I asked for a window seat and we were seated in a booth on the opposite side of the room. The food was very good. Excellent! Strawberry Lemonade was the best I have ever had, and the Brie appetizer was amazing. The service was just good, not better than any other restaurant in the city."

  • "The portion sizes have shrunk over the last couple years,and the prices have increased. A $40 steak should take more than 4-5 bites to finish. I should have more than 4 wilted asperigus spears as a side. There's better places to spend $100 in this town. Simons has slipped."

  • "If in Anchorage this is a place to go that has a bit of everything. The menu has many fresh seafood choices that it is hard to choose what you want to order. I had King Salmon that was seasoned and cooked just right. The vegetables were fresh and not over done. My wifes halibut was also very good. The desserts are ordinary but who cares when you filled up on great fish."

I am normally not one to complain but when I am at a high end restaurant I expect perfection and the food wasn't even close to this. I will most likely go back however as I know sometimes it gets to busy and mistakes happen."

  • "Started with a brie - bigger than expected. Macadamia nut crust was scrumptious, honeyed apples, plum jelly, and chocolate - very nice. The spinach salad was nice and fresh, thought the leaves were mature - no baby green salad here. The bowl of chowder was good-not exceptional, smokey bacon and perfect potatoes would make the chowder a treat on a cold rainy day. The scallops were absolutely divine, nice texture, perfectly cooked, and very nice flavor; and the potatoes and vegetable centerpiece was scrumptious. We left very full even though we shared a single entre."

  • "We were placed in the back and the noise level was so loud we were yelling at each other. There were six of us and service was OK but we had to find the waiter to get orders. He may have had too many tables but we felt slighted. When he did wait on us, he was OK but nothing to talk about. It seemed like he was in a hurry to cover the other tables. The food was good but for the price I would expect that. Parking was validated for 2hours but we were there for 2.5 hours."

  • "We heard that this was THE place to go in Anchorage from many people as well as reviews on line, We did have reservations and were seated at a window table with great views of Cook Bay Drinks were pretty good as was the service but I was disapointed with the food. I ordered king crab And it was very tasty but the legs were small and at 45.00 I did expect a good size portion My dinner guest did not wow the food but comments were it was good not great."

  • "First time eating at the restaurant. Food was amazing, specifically: tenderloin apps, blackened cod, prime rib (so flavorful) and asiago/almond crusted scallops (so tender and delicious). Service was impeccable, water glass was never empty and I drink a lot of water! The only downer was the atmosphere didn't match the food and prices. It almost seemed like a cafeteria based on the noise and lack of class. I've eaten in the bar many times and I find it has a lot more class than the restaurant. I expected linens and fine attire. There were no linens and several people in jeans. It didn't fit the $250 bill."

  • "We were first taken to a window table that wasn't next to the water. I saw a two-top that hadn't been cleared yet and asked if we could be seated there and after the table was bussed and washed, we were seated immediately. We had the crab crispy dumplings as an appetizer, they tasted fishy and seemed too brown. We also ordered the king crab. Crab was fine, the potatoes that accompanied the crab were dry and not very tasty. The broccolini was limp and unappetizing looking. I did not bother tasting it. The candles used as a heat source were nearly burned down and did not keep the butter warmed. I also asked our crab legs be cut open for us and not all were, making getting at the crab tiring and difficult. Hostess was scowly and unfriendly."

  • "Heading for an afternoon meeting, we decided to add lunch to our itinerary. With a noon reservation made the previous evening, our table was ready upon our arrival. Service was excellent and the food delicious. Having enjoyed Simon and Seaforts on numerous occasions, we weren't surprised. They have a fun, noisy happy hour with a variety of drink and appetizer options. The view of Cook Inlet is fantastic. I've been enjoying the ambiance and delicious foods since my arrival in Alaska in 1984. It's also a great place to treat visitors to a slice of Anchorage."

  • "This year Father's Day and our anniversary happened to fall on the same day so we decided to celebrate at a nice restaurant with the kids. I was surprised they had a kids menu with quite a few selections and at a great price. When I mentioned on the open table reservation that we are celebrating our anniversary also, there were rose petals on the table and after dinner they offered us a choice of creme brûlée or key lime pie to share. The food was great and the kids loved the fried calamari. Hopefully we can come back soon."

  • "My family are regulars for Sunday brunch and for Mothers day and father's day we got very poor service and food was not the usual standard quality! Prime rib has each time was very very soggy. Server on father's day, she never came back to refill our coffee nor did she ever bring the jelly I asked for. Makes me question ever going there again for any special occasions. I hope I never get her again as my server."
