  • "This was not the best brunch that we have been to & we will not be back because there are too many really good brunches with a lot more items with high quality food. For example, the shrimp were very mushy & the crab legs hardly had any crab in them & you couldn't get the crab out because they were over done. The ribs were just bones & no meat maybe because they were picked over & they left the bones & didn't replenish the ribs."

  • "Greeted by wait person with specials, including wine. Her knowledge led us to try the wine special that was well priced and very good. Our meal choice was standard fare, shared wedge, filet mignon with green beans and tomato garnish. We ordered the au gratin potatoes. The potatoes were outstanding and the rest of the meal was wonderful. I liked it that the server asked us to cut into the filet to make sure it was done correctly; mine was more rare than I wanted so the took it back and returned quickly, done just right. That was much better than me eating it and complaining later. A manager returned the steak to me, in only a couple of minutes. The whole process got me a perfect steak and almost no waiting."

  • "We went on a Friday afternoon during Happy Hour and dinner for my wife's birthday. Moderately busy but the waiting staff seemed overwelmed. We didn't get attention for at least 15-20 mintues. And when it came the waitress had no water and didn't asked if we even wanted water. That was just the beginning of a long wait for subpar food that was over priced and slow service. The service was polite however."

  • "We dined at Simms on Sunday evening and my steak had no seasoning and was over cooked. It wasn't bad.... Just not what a $160.00 dinner should have been. We have dined there a few times before and we're going to bring some friends at another time?? We dined there for my birthday in October this year and last, the food and service were awesome! Our waitress was kind of dingy and seemed to rush us out of there. I would consider going back ...... But cautiously. We has recommended friends and family to go there In the past, because of our past experiences, but would have to hear of a change. Regards Jeff Powers"

  • "I dined with my family at Simm's Steakhouse for my mom's 50th birthday. They printed up a special menu for her and everything. The food was spectacular and not to mention the amazing Moscato wine to go with dinner. After our delicious food we went over to the bar area to sit by the fire, and see the amazing views of the city at night. Service was fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a wonderful night out!"

  • "On 3/9/14, I made reservations for two for 6:45pm on 3/28/14. My husband & I were celebrating a very special occasion--his birthday, which I specifically requested we be seated at a table nearest the window with a city view wherein we have dined on many special occasions in years passed. My husband is hard of hearing & these tables afford us the opportunity to have a discussion without being surrounded by other busy/noisey tables. At this visit on 3/28/14, our request was ignored & we were seated in an area behind the window-view tables and in between several tables on all sides. The surrounding area was extremely noisey & subsequently unable to effectively communicate to one another. For our inconvenience, we were "comped" 2 cocktails."

  • "Decided to try Simm's because we're Landry's dinners. The crab-stuffed sole was well prepared and delicious. We just happened to visit on a Wednesday which is half-price wine night for bottles over $100. The wine list is extensive and we found a few that were superb choices. The service was spot on. We'll be back and tell our friends."

  • "From the first course to the sweets everything was perfect. Courses timed for when you are ready for them. I cannot compliment Travis' s new menu enough. Highlights were the habenaro cotton candy and the beet salad. The service was so welcoming and the view was awesome. I cannot wait to see what creative experiments come out next time!"

The hostess appeared to be clueless and was off on her statements as to when we would be seated. Suggest they seat people with Reservations first and those without in the lounge area or have them wait until parties are late for their reservations."

  • "We were celebrating my father's birthday...which happened to fall during Restaurant Week. I was afraid we wouldn't be able to get a reservation at Simms Steakhouse, let alone a decent meal. Turned out, neither fear was warranted. We were able to get a reservation on a busy Friday evening. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was impeccable. The Restaurant Week menu was delicious, the steak was cooked perfectly and delivered to the table piping hot. All members of our party were impressed. The only slight weakness were the two dessert choices. They were OK but nothing memorable. Maybe desserts aren't really Simms Steakhouse's forte?"

  • "Having visited Simm's before, this was the first time for Restaurant Week. Our group was surprised by two people, the bartender and our server. The bartender appeared to be unfriendly and not happy to be serving us. Our server kept trying to up-sell us everything, even a cappuinco. This was a first for me at Simm's. Usually everyone is so nice and it is a wonderful experience!!!"

  • "Our party hadnt arrived yet so we went to the bar for a drink. Once the party did arrive we were rushed to our table by an impatient hostess and we were not attended to by our waiter for more than 10 minutes. We dined during restaurant week and I had a seafood allergy and the only starters were 2 seafood items. I requested a substitution and they made a fairly big deal out of nothing, asking what it was exactly I was allergic to, etc. Portions were very small, and tables were very close together. I was surprised at the difference in service and portions when we dined at Sullivans the following night. Portions, service and all around feel was much better, and the bill was cheaper! I don't recommend for 5280 week."

  • "The experience started with sluggish confused hostess who took five minutes to figure out where to seat us. Our dinner order was mixed up and our food was not cooked as requested. The meal was delivered to the table with a sarcastic attitude. We were checked on once and were left without water for most of the meal. The food was good but not great (very salty), but the view was wonderful and the restaurant was quiet. We won't return to Simms."

  • "We decided to try during Restaurant week, and maybe that was a mistake. For the increased price, we felt the 5280 menu lacking in quality, quantity and presentation. We should have just ordered off the regular menu. Very disappointed. The table wasn't properly set, service was super slow, food was barely warm. The wine and cocktails were great, though. We won't try again, not after being taken the first time."

  • "I decided to check it out with a girlfriend for restaurant week. The ambiance is sophisticated and chic. Everyone was very friendly, from the complimentary valet to the hostess to our waitress...and this includes after the hostess skipped us in being seated. The food was excellent and the recommended wine pairing was perfect. And the view of Denver was simply spectacular. I would definitely go back and recommend it to all. Perfect place for a special event!"

  • "Read a lot of negative reviews prior to dining but the experience was great. The food was excellent although pricey. They may get more business if the prices were more reasonable. Went on Valentine's Day so the restaurant was crowded. Service was very good and prompt. Order steak; after all it is a steakhouse. You won't go wrong."

  • "The waiter was amazing he helped us pick out a great wine and helped with everything that we need and when I mented my wife doesn't eat pork when she ordered her meal he remember for the main course that we didn't know that it had bacon on top of the stake I was so thankful that he remembered. I will definitely go back to that restaurant and if not just for the food but a special request for our waiter Alex"

  • "Got a nice table with great view by window. Server seemed nice but didn't like that we weren't drinking (less spent = less tip). Felt rushed especially when entree came before we were done with salads. Really? Manager came by and said there was nothing they could do? How about not bringing entrees before salad is done? Buffalo prime rib had lots of fat and was cold by the time I ate it. I will not be going back."

  • "We have gone to Simms Steakhouse several times as we are neighbors and have liked the food, wine list and fantastic view. This outing was quite a disappointment. We waited for every course, waited for our wine and our drinks, etc. The food was also not what I remembered. The rolls, which are normally fantastic, were overdone as was my steak and the beet salad did not come with most of the ingredients that were listed on the menu. Another waiter came over to help at one point since, as he said, our waiter was "slammed" but we never saw him again. I can't say I will look forward to going back to Simms, which is sad."

Our server seemed to busy to notice us half the time. Would not recommend and will not be going back."
