If the ribeye isn't available, I reccomend the whole deep fried catfish. For dessert I always get the profiteroles, they are excellent."

We often use the Parkway Grill for our special occasions, but Shiro was actually quiet enough to have table conversation, in addition to being fresh and innovative. I will be delighted to dine at Shiro again."

  • "I have never had bouillabaisse that came close to Shiro;s. Scallops, clams, mussels, shrimp and red snapper were each simply perfect. My daughter enjoyed the shrimp appetizer and ravioli and said they could not have been better. Service is wonderful. A truly fine dining experience."

  • "From the pleasant greeting at the door, to the personal thanks and good-byes at the end, this was an excellent dining experience. Service was friendly and very attentive throughout. Food was excellent - truffle raviolis for all, duck breast, salmon, and catfish for the entrees. Desserts, dessert wine, and various coffees to finish. The dinner wasn't about the food - it was a gathering of old friends and business partners. But the food, service, and overall experience was hard to ignore. We usually have these dinners at different locations, but after Shiro, I believe we've foud a home."

  • "This restaurant had pretty positive reviews so I booked a table here for Valentine's Day. For two people, two drinks, two prix fix meals and tip it cost almost $300. I should have probably guessed that it would be expensive since the price for wine tasting was $40 per person, but still. This is the most expensive meal I have ever had anywhere. The quality was decent. My wife had the signature fried ginger catfish, which was a pretty amazing sight to behold (they bring out the whole catfish). I had the Filet Mignon. Both looked better than they tasted. Not that they tasted bad, both were good, but I could have gone to any number of other nearby restaurants for a less expensive and better tasting meal."

  • "Being a French-Asian restaurant, I expected it to be fairly pricey; however, the food was just average. If you want a good French restaurant worth the money, try Café Massilia in Monrovia. You get the same amount of food but better tasting and not so creamy for a cheaper price. I have to say the service was excellent. Also, for special occasions, i.e. Christmas, New Years, or Valentine's Day, Café Massilia also serves a prefix meal which is have the cost of Shiro and very good."

  • "when one reaches 79 years of age, love seems to have more of an impact than food. But at Shiro's the food was the star, the moon, and the leading emotion. Love was never this delicate, this intangible, or this fulfilling! I no longer will daydream about what I used to have. I can now go to So. Pas. and enjoy myself to the fullest!"

  • "Shiro has become our favorite South Pasdena dining experience! The hospitality and service provided are always friendly and very professional. The menu so intriguing you will enjoy deciding exactly what to eat. The food is splendid, so you will not be disappointed whatever you decide. Fortunately the menu changes from week to week, so you there is usually something new to enjoy or you can try that favorite again from your last visit when you return. There is a full bar that can mix your favorite libation and the wine list has a great selection of different varitals with a price points for all economic palates. I can't recommend Shiro highly enough. Once you try it, you'll be back again and again."

The salad with baby artichokes was superb and the desserts were delicious.The portions were a really nice size and none of us left feeling stuffed.   • "We've eaten at Shiro maybe a half dozen times and never been disappointed. This Tuesday was the best yet. My wife and I had the seafood platter of lobster and scallops. Both were delicious and the sauce was so good I soaked up the last of it with bread. Our son had seared ahi, which was terrific, as well as a truffle stuffed ravioli appetizer so wonderful I wanted to order one to take home. My wife had a fruit wonton which I had to fight to get a piece of, and I had profiteroles, which would have been perfect with a little more chocolate sauce. I would have asked for some, but I couldn't stop eating it long enough to wait. We don't get many meals with our son now that he's away at college and this was a special one."

  • "The sea food is so fresh and so elegantly prepared, there is nothing to do but enjoy it. Shiro is a master with sea food. The creme brulee is the best I ever had. I stopped eating creme brulee in France because it wasn't as good as Shiro's. Cheryl, partner and person at the door, greets all who come with warmth and sincere friendship. It feels like coming home after a long time away. One feels part of a community when you are there."

The music was a great added touch. our only disappointment came from the fact there was group of 4 adults and 3 children who were expected to keep quite throughout the evening. The ginger lime sauce that basked the goodness was so good that I used the complimentary bread to soak up the remaining sauce. I'd definitely be back!"
