  • "They ran out of drambuie ,this is the second time it has happened..1st time a year ago...Shaw's is a fine dining restaurant, not a casual dining restaurant...can't understand how a LEYE restaurant could run out if drambuie ..guess I should call and ask if they have it in the bar before we go for dinner..."

  • "For seafood lovers, this is a nice restaurant and the choices for the crab buffet were good."

  • "Great food! Best seafood in all the suburbs. Try the crab cakes and oysters"

  • "Our experience was mediocre. My husband and I definitely did not think the food and service were worth the high prices we paid for our plates (I had the crab cakes and he had the seafood platter). Nothing was terrible, but we will not be planning a return to Shaw's any time soon."

  • "Sometimes Shaw’s is good sometimes it's not. Our server who was very, nice never checked on us after each course was served. So if something wasn't right we did a lot of waiting and asking someone to send the waiter to our table. This was annoying. We ordered the lobster roll to start and it came out all wrong. Even the manager said it came out wrong. My halibut was very good; we also had the Bank Scallops that were very good. Sides were au gratin potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Both were excellent. The bananas foster came out cold and it was a disaster. Everything was very inconsistent and disappointing. It was also very cold in the restaurant. The food here is too expensive for this type of nonsense."

  • "I enjoyed a very tasty lunch at Shaw's; they never disappoint. The only reservation I have is the lobster bisque soup. A cup was $7 and, in comparison, I have enjoyed much better. I will definitely return."

  • "Shaw's is amazing! The Sunday brunch has a wide selection of foods and deserts. The atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming. The wait staff provides great service as well. I highly recommend Shaw's if you are a foodie who loves to eat and try new foods. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and he absolutely loved it!"

  • "the restaurant has an odd odor. I can't tell what it is, but even after 30 minutes I could still smell it. The others in my party did as well. Other than that, the service was great, the fish was wonderful (Florida Grouper with squash) and the ambiance was perfect."

  • "Oysters and sushi were great! Should have ordered more oysters because they were so good and skipped the salad. Save room for dessert."

  • "We went for a Sunday Brunch at $55 per person. There was a satisfactory assortment of food items. Most things, including fresh oysters, lox and standard breakfast fare were quite good. However, the crab legs, both steamed king crab legs and chilled, had little meat which did not taste very good. Overpriced."

  • "I have been to the Downtown Chicago location and was hoping that this would be a similar great experience, but I found that while the food was okay, there were several lapses in the service. On a packed Friday evening, We had a reservation and had to wait 20 minutes; upon grumbling, a manager came and seated us promptly. In a corner or the main room. Some items weren't available (asparagus) and instead of the one 'regular' sized creme brûlée we ordered, 3 small ones arrived. 1 dish for the table next to us went crashing on the floor, and 2 times the empty large serving plates went down. Guess the waiters were tired this evening... Not a disaster but some annoyances, which didn't happen at other dining places, like Wildfire or Seasons 52."

  • "As usual, we had a great time. The swordfish (new item) and tilapia were excellent as were the mushroom and cauliflower sides. Perfectly prepared was the calamari appetizer. The dessert sampler was a fantastic way to end the meal. Our server, Kristen, was great. She answered all our questions, made some recommendations and was able to help us out with minor changes to our order. Also, Kristen and the staff was very discrete when bringing out the dessert plate for my wife's birthday - she was quite surprised and embarrassed. The plate had "Happy Birthday" written around the rim making this a memorable occasion."

  • "Been coming here for at least 10 years and I can honestly say I've only been disappointed one time - and I can't even remember why that was. Food selection, quality and delivery are outstanding. Servers are extremely knowledgable and accommodating. I actually feel very comfortable having them order for me - which I asked for when I ordered a sushi appetizer. I told the server spicy-ness was OK. It was delicious. The lobster bisque is the best I've ever had, and there was no problem mixing things off the menu. I ordered the surf and turf but wanted the larger filet with a bleu cheese crust. "Certainly", was the reply. Just a great place to go."

  • "As usual, the food and service at Shaw's was very good. This time, however, the kitchen was very slow. We had a table of 8 and our lunch meals took well over half an hour to arrive."

  • "I don't where this place gets off on their prices. Ski high for only moderate quality. Service was great and very professional, but good lord, I definitely won't be coming back for the food. Just go for the oysters and a beverage."

  • "We celebrated our anniversary there, had great wait staff and the food was delicious and quick. The bar selection for martini's was sub-par, would look to add more variety to cocktails on the menu."

  • "Great food, wonderful value, super service. Very good selection of wine by the glass. Best key lime pie ever"

  • "Was really not expecting the great meal or quality of service. Best crab legs my husband ever had."

  • "Our server did not time this well. By the time oor food arrived we were almost not hungry anymore. Oysters Rockefeller are great!"

  • "We went for my wife's birthday. My brother-in-law gave us a gift card for Christmas. It was our second time at the restaurant. We went for our anniversary last year. The service was great ( very helpful). The food was very good, but pricey. We will go back, but only if we get another gift card this Christmas."

  • "Being from NE, I know good, fresh, well prepared seafood. I had Wellfleet (Cape Cod) and Katama (MV) oysters that were served with traditional accompaniments as well as a lemon granita. Excellent! But the real star was the Alaskan King Crab legs, perfectly cooked, sweet, and succulent! Every bit as good as any Maine lobster I've ever had! Service was great and the ambiance was similar to classic steak houses but with a nautical theme. A class act!"

  • "Great Sunday Brunch with an extensive dining list. Highly recommended and worth every penny."

  • "We had a group of 9 to celebrate a friend's birthday, and Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg did not disappoint! The food was excellent, from our appetizers of oysters, blue crab & avocado dip, and calamri, to entrees of tilapia, grouper, yellow fin tuna, filet, crab cakes, thru desserts of creme brulee and key lime cheesecake. The portions are generous, especially the sides which are meant to be shared. The grilled asparagus was a big hit in our group as were the double baked potatoes. Our server was very helpful in offering suggestions as well. While it's on the pricey side, I would definitely return for another special occasion!"

  • "Still have many more menu items to try but have loved everything so far. Highly recommend for seafood lovers. I read so many reviews that talked about how expensive Shaw's is. If you're worried about price just ask yourself, at the end of the day, do you want to eat cheap seafood? I don't. Will recommend this to anyone who loves seafood. I am now a regular at Shaw's!"

  • "We eat at Shaw's often and have never been disappointed..All the servers are great, we had Kristin for the first time, she did a great job… We usually sit in the same booth and consequently have the same bus person..Fidel, he is the best..We have water in the first 30 seconds of sitting down and the glass is never empty, as son as you are finished he has the dishes cleared..This restaurant is one of my favorites.."

  • "For those who remember when Shaw's on East Illinois was new on the block: a reliable standout for fresh, contemporary seafood, and fish, nice ambiance and service, and not inexpensive, but good value...this is not that place. The Schaumburg version, at least, is now another overpriced business expense-account restaurant where the entrees are priced well above their value and served with little else. We there with a guest who had recent long layover. at O'Hare; I think we were the only ones dining on our own money - maybe no one else cares when the company is picking up the tab. The crab cakes were 'crabby' - but not especially flavorful, and the fish was just ordinary. Dinner -with one single glass of wine-- totaled almost $200."

  • "We have never been disappointed with Shaw's as far as their food is concerned. The calamari appetizer was a huge portion and delicious. I had the seafood pasta which also was a good sized serving - between the two I had to take most of the pasta home. The service is always good, but this time I had to tell the manager about our bus boy. He was extremely attentive without being intrusive or hurrying us along. It was an all around great experience."

  • "Heard great things about restaurant from others. Will not be going back anytime soon."

  • "The staff was great. However, the staff that would come by to ask if we were done with our meals were pushy and I felt rushed to finish my meal."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "We had a wonderful meal here. The service was phenomenal. We ate as much as we could. And then some. We'll be back in the near future. The lobster bisque is addictive!"

  • "My husband and I had a nice time at Shaws. The food was very good but the portions were a bit smaller than expected. Our server was great and very knowledgeable about the menu."

  • "We had the Sunday brunch. Everything was amazing especially the Alaskan King Crab and Mimosas. Just a terrific restaurant."

  • "Shaw's has been one of our favorite restaurants and we moved out of state in November. Was back in town and it was so great to be back at Shaw's. I absolutely love the new addition of sour dough bread. I goes so well with the oysters. Also the sushi was fantastic as well as the mixed green salad. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "An upscale place with very good seafood. Be prepared to pay upscale prices. My meal was a la carte & if you order soup or salad, and one or two sides drives up the cost of a dinner to over & $45.00 (not crab or lobster)."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Our recent experience at Shaw's did not disappoint! The crab legs were ample and delicious and the service was excellent. We showed up just a short time before our reservation and were seated in a reserved booth moments later. Our server was attentive and did not make us feel rushed in any way. Shaw's is a wonderful place to enjoy top notch food for a special occasion."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "We received excellent service from the restaurant staff however the food was incredibly disappointing."

  • "My sister-in-law and our husbands like to go to different restaurants for breakfast and dinner and this time we picked to do a brunch at Shaw's in Schaumburg. All I can say is that we were not disappointed with our dining experience - Service and Food were GREAT and definitely lived up to the quality Shaw's is known for!!! Will definitely put this on our frequent dinning list - need to experience dinner next."
