Great spot for a beautiful view while enjoying happy hour! The burger is only $7 and it’s top tier. The oysters are only $2 during Bally hour as well!

I would give this establishment zero stars if it were an option. We specifically reserved a patio table well in advance. Upon arrival, I confirmed our request, but the hostess seated us outside directly under the burning sun. When I requested an umbrella for shade, she rudely informed us that they only had two available and could not accommodate us. She then moved us indoors to an incredibly crowded, cramped seating area. Though I brought this to the manager's attention, and he promised to resolve the issue, no action was taken. Frustrated by the poor service, we ultimately left and went to The Warehouse Restaurant in Marina del Rey, where we enjoyed a wonderful patio lunch with excellent customer service. Whiskey Red’s desperately needs to address their staff's unprofessional attitude and lack of accommodation.

Unfortunately we found food quality to be very poor. I would say comparable to Denny's. Taste was off from salads to soup to eggs. Dishes were overcooked.

We were seated. Next to a very loud couple who were on a FaceTime call. They talked extremely loud so that it was annoying. Our waiter wasn’t very attentive. We kept having to look for him to order and also to get our check. The menu was pretty reasonably priced and we enjoyed ours

Our service was terrible. We were seated outside which was nice however service was so bad that we watched someone at another table get water, food and check out before we even ordered. After our initial beer and broiled oysters which took forever we decided to give up pay our bill and leave. We were not offered water and had to ask a couple times. It didn't come until we had decided to leave. The food others were getting looked good. It was just our server that was not very good.

There was a funeral service taking place outside at 5:00 PM, on the left side of the restaurant's terrace; consequently, they closed our windows with a black roller shade to provide privacy for the event. They ruined our view, and the dining room was left dark. The food was terrible and the service was slow. We ordered calamari and shrimp as appetizers, and they were horrible. As for the main courses: the salmon was okay, the fish tacos were flavorless, and the tuna tartare was ok, chicken fingers bad taste

Very disappointed in this visit. Food came out before the drinks. One plate was super cold and the other was super hot. Server only came once. The manager came to deliver the food and saw we didn’t have silverware and instead of grabbing some from the table next to us, left and came back 5 mins afterwards with them. Overall, we’ll never return, it was simply terrible all around.

FAQs

For the best balance of views and service, choose weekday lunches or early dinners, guests report quieter, quicker service midweek and during daytime. Weekends and holidays (Easter, NYE, boat-parade days) are very busy and can mean longer waits or limited menu items. If you want sunset views with fewer crowds, aim for an early weekday evening.

Yes, it’s best to call ahead. Guests report the staff can accommodate large parties, split checks and seating needs, but the restaurant can be understaffed or run out of menu items on busy days. Calling in advance helps confirm patio seating, special diets, parking details and any event requests.

Yes, Whiskey Red’s often operates for holidays and runs special holiday menus or events (Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE, Fourth of July and parade days are referenced by guests). Holiday hours and offerings change, so check with the restaurant ahead of time for availability, prix-fixe menus or buffet details.

Yes, Whiskey Red’s has a large outdoor patio with covered/tented areas, fire pits and waterfront views. Guests frequently highlight the patio for sunsets, brunch and happy hour. Patio comfort can vary by season (heaters and coverings are used), so dress for the weather or ask about heating on cooler nights.

Yes, Whiskey Red’s is a solid date-night spot if you want marina views and a relaxed, waterfront vibe. Guests frequently praise the sunset patio, fire pits and romantic harbor views. Food leans seafood-forward (lobster roll, grilled oysters, crab cake benedict) and there’s a full bar for cocktails and wine. Note: service and noise can vary, consider an earlier seating or a weekday night for a quieter, more attentive experience.

Families do dine here and the restaurant is family-friendly, guests frequently celebrate holidays, birthdays and brunches with kids and teens. The patio and large tables make group seating possible. Information about formal accessibility features (ramps, ADA seating) isn’t specified in the available data, so call ahead if you need specific accessible accommodations.

Casual dress is appropriate, the restaurant lists its dress code as Casual Dress. Guests commonly visit for brunch, date nights and holiday celebrations in relaxed attire, so comfortable, smart-casual clothing fits well.

Busiest: weekends and holidays (NYE, Easter, Thanksgiving, boat-parade and special event days) and popular weekend brunch times, guests report long waits and occasional menu shortages. Quietest: weekday lunches and early weekday evenings tend to be calmer with quicker service. If you want the harbor view without crowds, aim for midweek or an early dinner.

Yes, the outdoor patio is dog-friendly according to guests. Reviews note the covered patio and tented areas are comfortable and explicitly call the patio "dog-friendly." If you’re planning to bring a pet, call ahead to confirm current patio policies and any seasonal restrictions.

Short answer: yes, but confirm with the restaurant. Guest accounts describe private rooms and event spaces used for weddings, rehearsals and large parties, and staff have hosted holiday and private events. The restaurant listing indicates private-party policies may vary, so call the venue to confirm private-dining availability, capacity and booking details.

The ambience is waterfront and lively, guests rave about the stunning marina views, sunsets, fire pits and a casual, celebratory vibe. Expect a mix: romantic evenings and festive brunches, but also noisy or busy event nights. Interior updates and a large patio are positives; service and noise levels can vary depending on staffing and special events.

Weekdays (especially weekday lunch or an early weekday dinner) are the best bet for fewer crowds and faster service. Guests describe weekday mid-day visits as quieter and more relaxed, while weekends and holidays are lively but can bring waits and reduced menu availability.

Yes, families and children are commonly seen here, especially for brunch and holidays. Guests report birthday parties, family dinners and brunch celebrations. There isn’t a specific kids’ menu listed, so for young children consider an early seating and ask staff about child-friendly portions or simple options.

Portions are generally satisfying, many guests say plates are plentiful and good value, especially shared starters and mains like the brunch platters and smash burger. A few guests mentioned smaller or under-filled items (some lobster roll reports), so portions can vary by dish. If you’re concerned, consider ordering a starter to share or one of the brunch/platters designed for two.

There’s no explicit public waiting-list policy in the available information. Guests frequently report waits, even with reservations, during busy periods and special events, so reservations are recommended. If you’re visiting for a holiday or popular weekend night, call ahead to confirm seating and ask about any waitlist procedures.

Direct answer: Whiskey Red’s is open midweek and weekends. Current posted hours are Wed–Fri 12:00 pm–8:00 pm, Sat 10:00 am–8:00 pm, and Sun 10:00 am–7:00 pm. Hours may change for holidays or special events, so check before you go or call the restaurant.
