  • "After strolling around Annapolis on a gorgeous day, we topped off the evening at the Severn Inn. What a find! Casual dress is allowed, but the restaurant has too much class for flip-flops and t-shirts. Our server, Linda, was exceptional, never pressuring and always accommodating, with a good sense of humor. And now for the food: go for the calamari with a sauce that is out of this world, and any of the fish dishes. We had the tortilla encrusted salmon, Ahi tuna, and swordfish. Beautifully prepared and extraordinarily inventive. There are also very tempting vegetarian dishes. Kudos to the chef and staff. And the drinks, wine and beer menu is extensive and reasonably priced. We were too full for dessert. We'll be coming back again and again."

  • "For my b-day, a request was made for window seating to enjoy the scenic views at 10:30 am brunch. Upon arrival we were told that there were no "window seats for 2 people" and were thus seated behind a group -- 8 adults and 5 children under the age of 4 -- who did have an upfront "view." With all the commotion that this table generated, arguably no one was there specifically to enjoy the waterfront. The aggregated tables could have easily been allocated differently; further, there were 2 small tables w/views that remained vacant during our entire time. The restaurant treated us like second-class guests and the food was mediocre -- nothing notable for the price. The only exception to our experience was the waitress--she was most attentive."

  • "We come to the Severn Inn every year for an annual girl's lunch and always have so much to catch up on with each other. Our server was very accommodating towards us, allowing us more than ample time to make our menu selections and creating separate checks. We also had a new baby to bring with us this year and he was welcomed as well. We know that it takes extra time and effort to wait on us and its nice when a server isn't bothered by it. So thanks to our patient server who made us feel welcome once again at the Severn Inn. Thank you!"

  • "The food was delicious. The waiter friendly and attentive, but the view was spectacular, looking out across the Severn River to the Naval Academy. On a warmer day I would sit outside on the deck. The menu had a lot of variety and it was difficult to choose. I had the grilled Romaine Salad, which was delicious, and the French onion soup, also delicious. My dining partner ahd the ahi tuna which was beautiful."

  • "Lots of fits and starts with the Severn Inn, but they really seem to have gotten their act together over the past 24 months. Been maybe half dozen times with the first two being beautiful disasters--okay service, wonderful view and ambience, below par food. Of late, the food has really improved. Steak cooked to order, fish seasoned, cooked and presented nicely. Why 'only' four stars for the food? Everything was good...nothing was "OMG" good! That's a high bar, but to give all aspects of a restaurant five stars indicates to me that they cannot improve, and that's not the case here. We will return, and do so more frequently--and definitely be rooting for them to achieve that last star!"

  • "We celebrated our friendships at the Severn Inn !!! A wonderful brunch , filled with plentiful, well prepared dishes- from seafood to a delicious, tender roast beef, .And Bloody Mary's and Mimosa's are included in the price of the brunch. Desserts are mini sizes - just perfect to satisfy your sweet tooth. Reservations are suggested. The restaurant was very busy , many walk-ins but they had to wait ( the bar area that is used for walk-ins were very full). They make every effort to seat you at your designated time. Always a great experience - waiting for warm weather so that next time we can sit outside and take in the view of the Bay and the Naval Academy"

  • "We love Severn Inn in the summer because of the scenic views and the good food. This particular evening the weather was nice for the first time in ages (it was late March), and the restaurant was packed. We were seated by the aisle where the wait staff and diners had to walk to exit. The noise was incredible. For a restaurant with such high prices, we felt the ambience was definitely lacking. The busboys cleared a table right next to us, dropped some dishes, and did not even look over, much less apologize. The woman who seemed to be in charge of them did not crack a smile. Severn Inn has wonderful food and views, but they need to try harder to make the dining experience more enjoyable."

  • "We (6) dined at the Severn Inn on Saturday night and the restaurant couldn't have been nicer. It was my wife's birthday and the restaurant went out of its way to make her feel like it was her special night. The ambience was terrific looking across the Severn River at the Naval Academy and the table we had allowed each of us to have a terrific view. We opened with the cheese platter which featured 7 different yet magnificent cheeses that each of us enjoyed. Our main courses went from a dinner salad all the way to a crusted salmon over a mole sauce which was really special. This restaurant with it's magnificent view, great bar scene and wonderful food is a must visit for either a special occasion or just to have a nice, romantic dinner."

  • "Save for a couple of glitches, the Sunday brunch at the Severn Inn is probably the best in town. You can't beat the view on a lovely Sunday morning and, for the most part, the food is top-notch. Ours was marred only by the waffles - pre-made, somewhat crusty and not all that warm - and the oysters, with a fair amount of grit still clinging to the shells. Other than that, everything else, and particularly the Eggs Benedict, was just excellent."

  • "It had been awhile since we'd eaten out on a Saturday night, and were a bit fearful that the Inn might not be up to our expectations. Wrong. We had reservations for 2 at 5:30, and were promptly seated by a pleasant hostess. Service was excellent, and we tried a variety of chef's specials for appetizers & main courses. The wild boar and rockfish were perfect, and the crab cakes, while not the standard "fried" style, must rank as the best in the area. With our orders exceeding our intake capacity, we were happy to see that what we first thought were Styrofoam containers for our leftovers, turned out to be BPI certified compostable from Eco Products. Congrats to the staff for a perfect evening, and also being environmentally aware."

  • "Absolutely wonderful. I went to five restaurants during restaurant week and this one has the best of everything: Service, Food, View. Some restaurants gave small portions during restaurant week, but the Severn Inn gave us their normal serving portion, which was large enough that most of us took home leftovers. My Salmon was moist and flavorful. Two family members couldn't stop raving about the Shrimp dish. The Maryland Crab soup was the best I've had in this area ... and I live here."

  • "We enjoyed our dining experience at the Severn Inn for our Anniversary. This was our first visit and we took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu. We tried the tomato soup and clams casino with oysters Rockefeller for starters. Both were good and the seafood was rich. We did not have wine so I can't comment on the wine list. We both enjoyed the pasta with Jumbo shrimp and butternut squash with pine nut pesto over linguine. The shrimp was done to perfection and the combination of the butternut squash was novel and complementary. The sauce was a little rich for our taste, but definitely well seasoned. We would go again. The view was lovely although we arrived after dark and assumed the sunsets are amazing."

  • "We specifically went for restaurant week to try an expensive place for less. The restaurant week menu had odd choices that did not seem reflective at all of anything on the regular menu, which I would have appreciated. I mean, fried chicken? The food wasn't prepared well at all, the crab soup looked like it came from a can. I ordered the salmon but didn't eat the sides because they again, were not something they offered on the regular menu. I thought they could have offered more of a variety of main and side dishes rather than only seafood (and fried chicken...) and southern style sides. The waitress was not attentive despite the restaurarant being nearly empty. I was very disappointed in the restaurant week choices."
