  • "Parking nightmare! -Very long wait for food and people sat down after us got food before us -Poor presentation, below standard for this type of restaurant, food presented as if at Denny’s -Portions for appetizer was ridiculously small considering the price & substandard quality of each item -Mixed grill appetizer – crab cakes burned & microscopic (not as advertised in the cold case), calamari charred and tiny -Did not serve salad as requested, brought with the appetizer, repeatedly told her bring after -brought one salad, we ordered two -Appetizer was advertised on menu as “enough to share” - extremely small portion -No eating plates or utensils provided -Table next to us complained that lobster was so tough could not even cut with a knife"

  • "Unfortunately, while the location is great and the scene is lovely, the food needs much work. I had the Lobster Bisque which was the worst I have ever had, even out of a can. I also had the Crab and Shrimp Louie salad - although that taste wasn't bad for $20 the portion was small. My frend had the 1 1/2 lb lobster special at $34.99- it was steamed and it was tough. Is it that difficult to make a good bisque and steam a lobster?"

  • "I took clients out for lunch and was impressed with the ambiance and location that matched the name of the restaurant. We enjoyed the special of the day which was a surf and turf + prawn! I would go again."

  • "Our first time at the Seafood Peddler in Sausalito. The food was excellent and well presented. A well thought out menu. The noise level was low and the view is beautiful. A truly lovely dinning experience."

  • "Not the best but above average. We had to send our over cooked steak back. My ahi tuna came atop a cream sauce after I specifically stated my dairy allergy - another send back. The staff was friendly enough. The food was pretty good once they got it right. Salads were over dressed. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but would return if it was convenient."

  • "Overpriced and small servings. Mixed grill $19 for 3 small shrimp, 2 ridiculously tiny crab cakes, a couple pieces of squid. Crab Louis salad $ 24 was not lump crab and had a sharp piece of shell hidden in it."

  • "Dined with our daughter and had an OK experience. The food was not remarkable. Salmon tartar appetizer was long stringy pieces of salmon, not chopped and molded like it should be done. Entrees were good but not spectacular. What was shocking was the price... I guess we were paying for the view. Sorry, much better food quality for the price out there. I will not be returning."

  • "I love the oysters and whole lobsters. I only ask to receive a water/lemon dish by the end of dinner to wash the dried butter off my hands. This seems to always be a problem with them. Perhaps one more TRAINED busier would do it. Mike, our server is attentive and good but always busy."

  • "We had a large sort of loud group having dinner on Fathers Day. The food was great, the service was great and we had a lot of fun. This is the first time I had been in the new location. I liked it though I didn't like having to pay for metered parking on the street. But all in all it was a small price for a great restaurant."

  • "We both had the surf and turf special. it was excellent. Wife asked for lobster bisque substitution instead of clam chowder or salad. Was told that there would be a small adiitional charge ( it used to be $1 or $2) . Charged almost $5.00 this seemed excessive."

  • "I was in San Rafael for a conference and was looking for a seafood restaurant. Went to my trusted Open Table app and read the reviews for this restaurant and was sold. I am very glad I did!! The view of Sausalito's harbor is incredible from this second story restaurant and the menu of both east coast and west coast seafood was a real treat for this seafood lover. The service here is exceptional with everyone very proud of their restaurant and all that they can provide you. I highly recommend this if you are an out-of-towner and to experience true west coast delights."

  • "We first started going to the Seafood Peddler when it was in San Rafael. We were so glad to find that it had moved and we were still able to enjoy it. The new location is even better. Always great food and great service. "

  • "The macadamia nut crusted petrale was a little disappointing. We've eater here many times and the crusted fish has always been cooked just right but this time it was actually a little burned and the fish was over-cooked. Proabably just an off night with the chef. "

  • "Everything was GREAT! We only went there for lunch but there was a great selection on the menu, the service was perfect and very reasonable priced for Sausalito. We will be back!!"

  • "You know the places you find on vacation and want to figure out how to get back to on the same trip? This is one of those places. We have eaten here twice and both times it was fabulous. Beautiful array of local fish and seafood, along with fresh flown-in fish. Wonderful service and very thoughtful wine list. From the seafood bisque to the selection of oysters, to the humble-yet-iconic fish and chips, to the fresh local salmon with a balsamic reduction resting on a fresh succotash, and even down to the latte for dessert, everything was simply outstanding. The bay makes a gorgeous backdrop for an outstanding dining experience. No peddling needed. You will want to eat here!"

  • "I was VERY disappointed to learn you moved from San Rafael to Sausalito. San Rafael location was once my Mother's favorite but since moving it has become MY favorite. It does support an elevator for those unable to do the easy stairs. Very lovely view of boats and water. I was a "regular" during my boating days and you were under a different name. Now, it is clean, relaxing, great menu and the wait staff is GREAT. Thanks."

  • "Had lunch with a friend on Saturday. Very nice quiet table with a view of boats, windows were open, air felt wonderful. Service was really very nice, adequately professional. We both had Classic crab and shrimp salads, not the most creative dish to review, but it was all very fresh and delicious. Generous size, and the dressing was really good too. I ordered a side of fries, tasty! Lightly seasoned. Stayed hot for a long time! We both liked our glass of chardonnay. I love this place and will be back. "

  • "We have really missed having the Seafood Peddler near us since it moved to this location an although the view is nicer the food remains unchanged. If you're in the mood for a lobster or fresh fish, this is the place. Our server Mike has been with them for years and is spot on when it comes to giving you good service. The kitchen sometimes is a tad slow but have a drink and relax with the beautiful view. It's worth it. "

  • "It's a solid seafood restaurant with and Italian slant. Prices are very fair and as the name of the place implies, it is also a seafood market."

  • "Seafood Peddler is a great place to eat. It's right at the harbor and they have a wonderful view of the water. It's quiet, friendly, and has great food, service and happy hour! You can sit outdoors if the weather is warm enough. For us, it wasn't. We were going on a sunset cruise of the bay and wanted to have a small meal before we left. Happy Hour starts at 4 and goes till 7. drinks are priced well. There is also a happy hour menu. I had the Oysters Rockefeller, they were the best I've had. The lobster bisque is outstanding! The bathrooms are located down the stairs and you need a token to enter. ( That keeps them nice and clean!) I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Made early reservations via OpenTable-as my parents were coming (older with "requirements"), I requested the back room, carpeted area (easier to hear you, my dear), with cushions on the wood chairs (for the tushies). We arrived to "Table #1" with spectacular view on a blue sky day, situated where we requested, cushions ready to go. Our server was fast, friendly and efficient, even keeping a watchful eye over our meal progress. Food was wonderful (we are 2 degrees from "regulars" here and we have always liked the food here), handling special requests with aplomb, drinks were luscious and desserts were the perfect ending to a great meal. Extra added bonus - after our meal we took a walk along the boardwalk. We will be back."

  • "We have been coming to Seafood Peddler to celebrate birthdays and special occasions in our family for years, since we discovered it in San Rafael. This time, my wife suggested it for my birthday. It's the only place where everyone in our family can always find something to like. It was lobster night, and the lobsters, flown fresh from Maine, did not disappoint. As always, delicious, reasonably priced, and the service is always prompt and friendly. We plan to continue dining here for years to come."

  • "It was a gorgeous day for our side trip, and we had a nice table overlooking the marina. Note that the restaurant is north of the main shopping area. Nice folks there, but the food was barely mediocre. My date had a crab sandwich, which lacked tomato and the lettuce added little to the presentation. Also overwhelming amount of white onion, little flavor otherwise. I had the Idaho trout, which was served in an olive oil bath, and an orange garnish rather than lemon. Garlic mashed potatoes turned out to be fried potatoes with garlic added, and the vegetables were nothing spectacular. Both dishes lacked flavor, and the presentation was as though the cook didn't put out any effort. Sadly wouldn't make a trip there again."

  • "Love the SeaFood Peddler. First, the location in Sausalito, at the boat harbor is beautiful. However, the food - always great. I love Their salmon. When available, Their wild king salmon is just delicious, and I enjoy it with Their "Captain Morgan' sauce. The Scottish salmon is also very good. My Husband loves the Lobster linguine - always raves about the richness of the flavors. And, the service is always great."

  • "We have been here several times. We did not like it at all when it was in San Rafael, but this one is much nicer. Having said that, we find the nightly specials to be the way to go. The specials are very good and reasonably priced. We were here for Valentine's Day and thought it was a little expensive for what we had. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. There are no specials on holidays. Also, we booked through Open Table and were marked as a NO SHOW. It took a bit of work and emailing to straighten that out, so I would suggest that you make sure that whoever seats you acknowledges that you are there."

  • "We've eaten here many times. Manager prepared Caesar Salad is always a must! Cocktails were prepared perfectly, a bit pricey for name brands. Seafood is EXCELLENT: sushi grade sesame crusted ahi tuna, Hawaiian swordfish, salmon. We shared dessert, cobbler with sorbet on side. Server was attentive, not too overbearing and greeting by manager made us feel we were at home. Be prepared to spend $125-150 per couple depending on spirits, wine ordered. Seafood quality is superb! Try Hawaiian swordfish for a less dense, slightly more oily melt in your mouth treat. Or the 1 and a half # lobster for $32 special!"

  • "We were regulars at the San Rafael location. The restaurant consistently delivers excellent seafood, and we went specifically for fresh crab. Our waiter was friendly but had no interest in taking care of our needs. We were surprised that the management allowed our waiter on the floor. We will probably give the restaurant the another try, but they charge top dollar for the food and there are several choices in the neighborhood. Very disappointing."

  • "After having a not so great luncheon there a few months ago, and not being as happy with it as we were when it was in San Rafael where we ate often, we decided to use a gift certificate and try again. Food was just so so, waiter forgot our coffee that we'd ordered with the dessert menu which also didn't come right away. Had to ask the waiter again after several minutes had passed, when he gave us the bill instead! Still great coffee though. Creme Brulee my favorite dessert, but a too thick disappointment . Perhaps the chef has changed? I haven't asked. But much more tasty places to eat in our home town, Sausalito."

  • "We have a tradition of dining on seafood each Christmas Eve. This is the second time we've chosen The Seafood Peddler, and were not disappointed. The lobster was steamed perfectly, the filet mignon was tender, and the Caesar salad was tasty (although, spending $21.50 for table-side prep was outrageously overpriced). All the wait staff were friendly and helpful. The flaming creme brûlée is not to be missed! Overall, we were delighted with our dining experience."

  • "This is a delightful restaurant situated in a charming and scenic location. The food is fresh and well prepared, the prices moderate, and the presentations appealing. The service is calm and courteous, with staff who are attentive and helpful. There is a friendly and welcoming aspect to this restaurant heightened by the care customers receive from the staff. Lunch is one of our favorite times at this restaurant, especially on Sundays."
