Diner Reviews
  • "Service was great, food was good (seared ahi and shrimp pasta)."

  • "We go every year for our anniversary, and always enjoy the food/service. Our wish is that they expand their creative culinary pallet, as we've now tried most of the dishes we'd like to try, and would like the chef to get more creative. For example, the 1st time we went they had a fish that was covered with carnitas and a salsa, was outstanding. That was one of 3 specials that night. Unfortunately, on the most recent visit, the only special offered was a barley soup. They've got great quality...just hope they mix it up a bit more."

  • "My wife and I would dine at Scott's Restaurant and Bar in Costa Mesa before performances at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. We always enjoyed our meals there. I booked dinner for my wife's birthday at Scott's Seafood in Folsom, thinking it was a branch of that Scott's. A glance at the dinner menu that this wasn't so; it was devoid of the Asian touches that graced the menu at Scott's Costa Mesa. Whoever prepared my wife's spicy crab bisque must have forgotten that they had already spiced it once; you could taste nothing but the spice. Her wild Pacific king salmon with basil pesto was also aggressively seasoned. My macadamia-encrusted Alaskan halibut, while perfectly cooked, verged on being bland. I traded my dish for hers."

  • "My wife and I usually have a great time but this date night at Scotts wasn't all that. The bread and drinks took over 15 min to arrive. My wife ordered the fish special and when they brought out her plate they totally forgot to put the fish on the plate and had to bring it back. I usually order the seafood tower, but this time had realized that it is not worth $35. The one good thing to this trip was that our waitress did buy desserts because she was embarrassed on how are night had gone. Overall this was not one of our greatest experiences with Scott's seafood. Definitely not worth $150 night."

  • "We liked everything about this restaurant. Food/servers/ambiance. Since we live in Roseville it does take a bit of travelling but its definitely worth it. Our party consisted of three people who had never been to the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. I am never aftraid to recommend it. Consistency and high quality of the food is paramount. Nice vibe."

  • "Took my husband for his birthday and went early before our reservation to have some drinks in the bar. The bar experience was frustrating. Lots of regulars and the bartenders were more attentive to their needs. Three bartenders all huddled in a corner and not paying attention to what the needs of the NEW customers."

  • "The bar noise level in the restaurant was too loud because of the bar. It was distracting to hear burst of noise. I would have given 5 stars if it was not for the noise. A glass separation up to the ceiling might cut down the noise between the bar and restaurant. The service was exceptional."

  • "I had dinner with two friends from Pennsylvania, and we all enjoyed our dinner. My friends said that they would always want to come back there for dinner anytime they are in Folsom."

  • "Special ordered "Fried" Oysters; absolutely some of the best we have had. A bit noisy ; especially for us that are hard of hearing.."

  • "My husband and I stopped here for our anniversary. The food was delicious and the server was very accommodating for special dietary needs. Since it was the middle of the week it wasn't crowded or noisy and was a very romantic place. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely time!"

  • "The noise was so loud that we will not return. While we enjoyed the food, appetizer, entrees & dessert, normal conversation was not possible - due to the bar noise - sorry as this was an occasion of celebration. Good service!"

  • "When we sat down for dinner, it took around 10 minutes for our waiter to come over and introduce himself. Food was great as always but it seemed like the waiter was focused on a bigger party. The bus boy was great making sure we were taken care of. If he became our waiter, it would have been much better. "

  • "This has been one of my parents favorite restaurants and after having a great anniversary dinner here the other night, it hit a homerun for me too. Great food and service! Best scallops and calamari in Sacramento!"

  • "Good seafood selection. They had smoke salmon and sturgeon, muscles, shrimp, and poke. All were great tasting. They also offer other breakfast foods, cheeses, and salad. The desserts were very tasty. There was also a ice cream Bar. Bottomless mimosas are a added bonus. It's a popular brunch, offered only on Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Easter, which we have eaten there on all these occasions and have never been disappointed."

  • "We had reservations for 6:45 but weren't seated until 7. Compared to the rest of the evening, that was fast, fast, fast. Although our waitress was pleasant, the service was slow. She disappeared for long periods - we thought about calling search and rescue. All in all, dinner took 3 hours! The waitress told us she had never de-canted wine before and her "assistant" commented that this was the first time she had served coffee. (That might explain why the cups were only half full.) The food was okay but not worth the wait."

  • "I have no bad comments for this place. Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. I usually get one or the other with restaraunts, but this place had it all- even on one of the busiest days of the year, Mother's Day."

  • "This is a Hard place to get a table unless you have a reservation. The food was awesome, we started with the calamari and it was very light and not at all greasy. Three of the 5 guests went for the macadamian nut crusted halibut and it was the best halibut I have ever tasted. Very moist and cooked to perfection, the rice pilaf and veggies were also perfect. Another guest had the seafood fettuccini and it was also incredible. Very flavorful. We skipped dessert because we had a cake waiting at home to celebrate my husbands 60th.. It was also awesome! Overall a great night with excellent food, the service was spot on and the wine list was a good selection. We can't wait to go back."

  • "Christina, the attendant, was wonderful, smart and friendly. Fries for the fish and chips were no better than a fast food joint...but who cares about fries. The rib eye was wonderful. the filet min was very nice. The sour dough is worth mentioning....totally awesome."

  • "We had a good time, although the room was very loud and it was distracting. The table next to us was a large group of people. I think that it would be much better if we were seated with tables of two people and the larger groups of people seated in another location to insure that the more private conversations could be heard at the smaller tables. The food and service was great. "

  • "I have been here many times for business dinners but this was the first time I took my wife. She loves fish dishes and had the pacific snapper -not blackened. She thought is was one of the most creative fish dishes she has had in some time. She really enjoyed it. I had the Mai Mai special that was grat. The berry dessert was agrarian light finish. "

  • "We had lunch here for the first time and were very impressed with all four entrees our party ordered. It was fresh, served piping hot(the way we like it) and the fresh sourdough was as good as that found in San Francisco. Top that off with excellent service, reasonable prices and a good selection of wines by the glass and we were a happy group."

  • "Dinner felt rush, poor no-refill on the bread, had to ask twice for the wine list with service spilt; server needs practice pouring wine. However, prior visits have been much better so maybe it was just an off night for Scott's. The food was awesome - portions have shrunk in size and it was noticed. For a dinner service over $250 Scott's needs to step up their game if they wanna' continue to play the food service game. Overall 3 outta 5 as it has been better. "

  • "Scott's Seafood has been a long time favorite in our family. Any time we want a special meal we know we can count of Scott's. The food is always good, the service is friendly, and the ambiance is both sophisticated and family friendly. Our server last Friday was a woman named Kathy and she was so pleasant she added an extra dimension to the wonderful time my sisters and I had at Scott's."

  • "My husband and I are fortunate to live only a mile or so from Scott's in Folsom and we go there often for special occasions. The food was abundant and absolutely delicious. Our waiter was gracious and attentive without pestering us or being absent. He kept our mimosa glasses refilled and made sure we knew where everything was to be found. The food was just wonderful! I concentrated on the seafood and enjoyed the salmon, prawns, smoked white fish, mussels and oysters. There was every kind of breakfast treat one could imagine, from roasted meats to waffles, eggs, etc. They even had an ice-cream station! Excellent job, Scott's. The only problem was that, hungry as we were, we couldn't do justice to such a feast! Thank you!"

  • "Beware they seat rsvp folks in the bar area with out telling you when you make a rsvp. The hostesses were rude. We were told, we should have asked to be seated in the dinning room if that is what we wanted. I would only expect to be seated in the dinning room of a nice resturant. I made our reservation more than a month in advance. The waiter complain he had to serve us and then run to the dinning room to server others. Rude all the way around."

  • "Scott's has actually improved there brunch over the years, the layout also improves. Years past the salads were in the middle area and are now where the desserts used to be, such an improvement for those just getting into the brunch line! The traffic flow is so much better for getting through the whole brunch area. This year the food choice were better then last year. Great JOB!! to all that work at Scott's Seafood!"

  • "My husband and I were looking for someplace to have dinner to celebrate our 29th Anniversary. I particularly love scallops and they are not on the menu at many restaurants. We were amazed at how wonderful everything we ordered was. The crab cake appetizer melted in our mouths, my scallops were the best that I have ever had, my husband enjoyed every bite of his Rib Eye. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect."

  • "This is the kind of place you wish you could go more often, because the staff is friendly, the food was very tasty and you had plenty of choices but not too many. The only reason for me not to go there as often is because of the price. Plus, if you wanted soup or salad, you have to order it separate. Otherwise; I enjoyed our meal, but will return only on very special occasions."

  • "I visit my parents all the time in nearby El Dorado Hills, so finding a good restaurant for special occasions is pretty important. Folsom has a plethora of average chain restaurants, plus some mediocre independent ones. Finding Scott's is a true pleasure-great choice of seafood, properly prepared. I had swordfish, and it was cooked perfectly. My dad had cioppino, which he liked (and he's hard to please) while my mom had crab cakes. My nephew enjoyed his steak. Service is good, and everyone was nice to us even though two members of our party of six were 45 minutes late to the table. Our server was attentive without being annoying. The atmosphere is friendly, and yet feels classy. I definitely recommend Scott's!"
