  • "I've been to Scape for brunch many times and am always pleased. On this last occasion my "brunch" was on the late side at 1 pm. Despite the restaurant starting to quiet down, service fair at best. I'll go back for sure and even recommend it, but one fair experience leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Luckily, all other experiences have been great."

  • "We had dinner here recently. I had the vegetarian lasagna, which is has no noodles. It was creative and excellent. My husband had the scallop dish and said it was also very good. We split the shrimp and grits, very tasty. My only comment is on the service, the staff needs have a refresher course on customer service--making sure diners have proper utensils, asking if they want to be seated in or outside, preparing tables in advance for reservations made on Opentable.com. We will return, the food and ambience were lovely."

  • "The food and service were excellent. Our only disappointment was the limited Sunday menu. We did not know they only had a limited menu on Sunday until we sat down. We had the Calamari, French Onion Soup (me), Caesar Salad (my wife), Chicken and Filet. All done perfectly and excellent!"

  • "We were with a party of 6. Our table was slow to be greeted by the server. Everyone at a table had a difficult time hearing the server because he mumbled. We all had to ask him to repeat himself. The server made our party feel like a nuisance and not like guests. The food was good but not GREAT! The value just wasn't there in my opinion."

  • "made a sunday 9pm reservation through open table. restaurant was empty except a few others - looked on my phone and it said the place closed at 9pm. didnt feel rushed by the waitress, but we just ate quickly so they could close. would like to go back and actually take our time. my steak was a bit over cooked (no pink or red even though i asked for med-rare), but i didnt send it back b/c again, we didnt want to keep the staff there late just for us. my wife's calamari was tasty. worth a full visit to see what the restaurant can offer - i will give them the benefit of the doubt."

  • "We really wanted to award Scape 2 more stars but couldn't because we felt that our meal was very rushed. There was little break between courses. This was a special occasion dinner for us, which we mentioned to our server upfront. We would have liked to have had more time in between courses to talk and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that is Scape. I didn't finish my cocktail until halfway through the entree. I had planned to have wine with dinner but it was too late. The food was very good. Caprese salad is a standout as was the gazpacho. But the seafood scampi did not benefit from the addition of raw heirloom tomatoes. The creaminess of the scampi was not at all complimented by those tomatoes. Dessert was delicious. Next time slow down."

  • "Think my title says it all... My fiancée and I love Scape! So much so that we are getting married there in September! We have dined there many times, and each time the service has been phenomenal, the food amazing, and the drinks most excellent. You can't go wrong with Scape, and take my advice, the Macadamia Nut Crusted Chicken has to be experienced! Enjoy!"

  • "My husband and I went with friends, celebrating our anniversary. It was a great night with amazing food, and wonderful atmosphere. We didn't have to wait for anything, but our server paced our food and drinks wonderfully. My water glass was never empty, which is a huge plus for me, and they were very accommodating even though we were 15 minutes late for our reservation on a Saturday night. It is perfect for a special occasion or just to go order drinks and apps with the girls. I can't wait to go sit on the patio!"

  • "I've dined at Scape many times but this was my first time for their "Comfort Food Sundays." Apparently, on Sunday they serve an extremely pared down menu - 2 apps, 2 salads, 2 soups, 1 'turf' (though they also had a 'turf' special the night we dined), 1 'surf' and one pasta. Scape is a 'seasonal' restaurant that has their mainstay of house faves and a small amount of seasonally changing apps & entrees. Sunday is their day to try out new dishes that might make it into the seasonal rotation. Scape also has a seasonally changing drinks menu and i had a spectacular summer citrus cocktail. I had a great ceasar salad followed by the really tasty gumbo shrimp (w/ jalapeno!) and cheddar grits appetizer out on the back patio. A lovely evening."

  • "Our supper club has dined together for 8 years and visited over 80 St. Louis metro area restaurants. Scape rates in the top 5 of all places in which we have eaten. The ambiance was elegant without feeling formal, service was professional and the meals were both visually appealing and full of flavor! Someone's chocolate dessert was an actual work of art. While we try to find a new restaurant each month, we occasionally repeat and Scape will definitely be on that list! "

  • "This is certainly a special occasion restaurant, and by that I mean it was a little expensive. However, it was worth every bit of what it cost. The service was attentive and respectful. The waiter was well-informed. My wife ordered the short-rib goulash and I the scallops. The food was incredible! She raved about the full flavor of meat and stew. The scallops were the best of the dozen or so orders I have eaten in St Louis. Sides of c-flower and b-sprouts were also uniquely flavored and went very well with our entrees. Don't forget to try the sweet potato potato salad. What a great discovery. All this on top of very classy presentation. I'm looking forward to declaring another special occasion! "

  • "For the third time in a row we have gone to Scape only to find that they "don't have mussels tonight". The four of us were disappointed because that's the reason we went to Scape. Their entrees are good but their mussels are fabulous - if only they served them. Next time I'm calling before I leave home and going somewhere else if the are out of mussels."

  • "Time ago (some years) I went for dinner, and I remember it was delicious. I went for brunch and...surprise...they have run out of what I wanted to eat. Finally my food was on the table and....it was really salty and full of pepper......too much for my taste....it felt like hot and not just for me. For the both of us. Beside that the service was really bad."

  • "Even with a party of 10, the restaurant was willing to provide separate checks--which is a pain, but made life easier for the group. There is also an excellent variety of dishes to accommodate all tastes and dietary needs, right down to the gluten free lasagna. It was also easy to order light or heavy--with lots of appetizers, small plates and large entrees. One person had a burger, a few had soup & appetizers, others steak or fish. No complaints. It was all very good."

  • "My sweetheart and I visited for a very special occassion. We were NOT disappointed. We found this gem on the internet by chance; and much to our delight, we're sooo glad that we selected this particular restaraunt! The food, ambiance, service and overall experience is one that we are still raving about. The view indoor/outdoor was a treat for the eye. The outside back of the restaraunt (esp.), is top notch.The duck confit, ribeye, soups (french onion, butter nut squash). The appitizers and on, and on. My advice GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The waiter knew what he was doing and he represented the menu well. The food was the highlight of the evening. Every bite was delicious and the menu held many more tempting selection.   • "I had the scallops and they were tasty, my only complaint was our waitress. I could tell she didn't like us from the beginning but we weren't there to make friends? One of our party members asked for a 'to-go' bag and our waitress brought back a bag with only one handle claiming she didn't want to waste it. After spending $300 on a 4 person dinner I think she could have spared us a new paper bag."

  • "The food was good from the limited Sunday night menu. Before diningI looked online at the menu and was disappointed when the normal menu doesn't apply to Sunday nights. The menu is for Sundays is listed under special events which is odd. The salad had a bit too much dressing but was good and the French Onion soup was strongly flavored which I liked. Although we dined early, they were out of mussels which my friend wanted to have. Service was good and help was friendly."

My daughter is a wine rep in VT and was very impressed with the wine list. They even carried some of the wines her company represents. We will go back."

  • "Very friendly waiter staff. My wife and I shared oysters, shrimp cocktail, and mussels for our appetizer course. The mussels were the best we ever had. I had the ahi tuna, and if you like it rare, it is excellent. Great atmosphere. We will definitely be back in the summer. The patio area looks beautiful."
