Diner Reviews
  • "Nice dining experience. Sat outside in patio area - nice view and fairly quiet. Food was good and beautifully presented. Service was outstanding"

  • "This weekend was the first time we have been at Savannah Chop House even though we have lived in Laguna Niguel since 2003. We went there because it is always mentioned on the local smooth jazz station KSBR and wanted to check it out. The coconut mahi mahi and flourless chocolate cake were excellent. I was surprised to see only one pork chop dish on the menu. It is really more of a steak and seafood place than I was expecting from their name. We would like to go there again tonight."

  • "Best filet we've ever had, same for the bread pudding! And the scallops were incredible too! Fantastic place for dinner"

  • "service was very slow; brought one wrong salad and much delay getting it corrected. Food was very good once it arrived. lamb on the Perfect 10 menu on web said $10, when we got there waitress said it had been moved to $13 menu."

  • "Great start in the bar. Good service, good drinks. Moved to patio outside and ordered salads. Cesar Salad was terribly wilted served on a very old beat plate. Paid & left."

  • "My husband and I had an early dinner before going to a show at Cineopolis....we had a coupon for BOGO free!!! Makes sense to be on their mailing list!!! We each had the Surf and Turf special. $34.95 bought us TWO Filet Migons with Lobster tails!!! We could not have been happier!!!! We also enjoyed some Byron Pinot Noir!!! We appreciate you Savannahs!!! You always treat us well, and the food is always perfecto!!! Thank you for working so hard to serve us and the community!! See you soon!"

  • "Glad to report that the chocolate mousse is now back to its original delicious form, after a period when it was a foamy, tasteless mess. This is still our favorite local restaurant. Service & food are great, & there are many great bargains. The main drawback is the music played when the bands aren't there."

  • "We dine at Savannah periodically & primarily when there is entertainment from a favorite performer. The food certainly is not the star here, however, it's hit or miss, some very good, or just OK. We tried the P10 menu this time around, so we can try an assortment of small plates. I actually thought these plates were far better than any entree we've ever had at Savannah. Unfornately, some bozo decided to close the kitchen at 9pm, right smack in the middle of our dinner, so we were just cut off completely, with apologies from our server. The kitchen is normally open until 10pm, so no one understood what was going on. They even asked the performer to cut out an hour early. Really spoiled our entire evening & $200.00 later, rushed out."

  • "Wonderful elegant dining with great food choices. Chef does a terrific job of bringing delicious to every menu item. We truly loved the service from Chris. He had a delightful sense of humor and was well attentive to our needs and desires. Ask for Chris for your server."

  • "Service issues two times in three weeks, the table was not cleared after the appetizers were finished. The server brought the entrees and left the dishes. Second visit, the order was delayed so long leaving us waiting while tables that placed their order after us were served before us."

  • "I wouldn't normally comment here, but there are not enough characters for a private message to the restaurant. Let me start by saying the food was good, service was friendly. Overall we were happy. We had a reservation for 3pm. They asked us to come in at 2:30 so they could stop the brunch service & set up for dinner. This was fine and we arrived at 2:30. It took a little while to order drinks, which wasn't significant. However, it took 45 minutes for us to order our food, and we had to tell them we were ready to order. We had two small children with us and we were concerned they might begin to get restless. We ordered at 3:15. Doesn't seem like we should have had to come in at 2:30 to wait 45 minutes to order."

  • "We enjoy this local restaurant. Food, atmosphere and service makes us go back again and again. Miss the Sunday brunch though!"

  • "Bread was doughy, prime rib was cold and when sent back it kitchen, they reheated in microwave a re-served a rubbery, awful piece of meat. Waiter never told us the daily specials and ignored us most of the evening. When we asked for to-go containers for the left-overs, he never offered to pack the food. When the waiter deposited the to-go boxes on the table (for us to pack), a glass of wine was knocked over. The waiter ignored it, but a busboy rushed over. The waiter never offered to replace the wine. We had to request the birthday dessert."

  • "Don't go there unless you want bad service, uncooked meat and expensive menu. They say the they have a cheaper menu but won't give it to a table of 8 when the restaurant is empty. Stay away Bread was even uncooked."

  • "George and I usually sit in the dining room....this time we mixed things up and went into the lounge area. What a nice surprise! The piano man was great and the happy hour simply delicious!! We had the cheesy potato casserole, fried green beans, and something called an Umbrella drink.....really nice all around. Our server Jaqueline was very friendly. We love this place! Thank you Savannah."

  • "We've never gone to Savannah's for their food, however, we do visit to & listen to our friends who play music there during the week. After their other restaurant French 75 closed almost two years ago, the food went from good to fair or just bad. A lot of corners have been cut, but the prices remain very high. No wonder for the empty restaurant on a Thursday night. Savannah has tried to revive business with a $10 & $20 menu, however, they cannot make $$ on that, so the food remains OK at best. Our server Jacquelyne was the best; friendly, outgoing, professional & helpful, always with a smile. Appetizers of Crab Cake & Oysters Rockefeller are OK, much better at Fishermans. Short ribs are ok, not the best. Burger is very good."

  • "We've eaten here a number of times in the past & it seems to keep going downhill. This last time (and it will be our last time) we were so disappointed, it is now off of our go-to list. Service was pretty good, but the food was terrible. We split the large rib-eye med rare, which came out lukewarm and a raw center; potatoes were actually cold. He told us it was because the steak was split in the kitchen and one of the plates was cold. What?! It wasn't 'til wait-staff came back for us to return it to the kitchen. Horror of horrors, they reheated everything & plopped it back down w/o a single apology. Now everything tasted like microwaved leftovers. UGH! We mentioned it still was not very good, we got a shrug and nothing more. Shame on them."

  • "party of four. excellent food. all in our party are a little older so the menu that offers the $10 menu is excellent and provides enough food so that none is wasted. Along with a salad, a great bottle of wine creates a wonderful evening. "

  • "Went to this restaurant for our 20th Wedding Anniversary & it was great! Charming ambiance in the bar with music and dancing! Great service at dinner with wonderful food & very reasonably priced too! More than a S.O. Restauant it strives to meet your every need and the staff couldn't be a any nicer! Would strongly recommend & we're looking forward to coming back soon! "

  • "This place was ok, however, nothing was great. The actual space was a little hard to find in a strip shopping area. The restaurant structure was dated with a stale look about it. They had a special, and when the waitress returned to the table to take our order it was sold out. She should have either asked us if we might want to hold the one she had left, or release it. In any case, we ordered otherwise and the food came fairly quickly. The soup that my wife ordered was good and my salad was good. The entries were good, but nothing special. This was not an expensive meal so there was no great loss, however, we were on vacation and it certainly did not create any meaningful memories. I would not go there again."

  • "Our reservation was for 5:30 and we were seated immediately. Our server was named Jeanette and was very attentive the entire meal. She quickly took and served our cocktail orders. And when we ordered our meal she was knowledgeable about specific seafood on the menu and where it was sourced. She was also very helpful with the wine list and a Pinot we were interested in. Two in our party enjoyed the prix fixed menu of three courses at $20 and commented that the calamari steak appetizer was the best they had ever had. And two in the party are light eaters and the 10 for $10 was perfect. The seared ahi tuna served with a wasabi risotto cake is outstanding. We'll be back soon. Thank you for a lovely dining experience."

  • "My husband and I took our teenage daughters to Savannah on Sunday night. Our server Sandy was awesome!! Her food recommendations were spot on! She was super friendly and on top of things! The manager Julie was very attentive too! On Sundays, they have a magician from the Magic Castle walking around performing. He was so entertaining! And last but not least, the food was absolutely amazing!!"

  • "My Husband and I love Savannah Chop House; we come here every chance we get. The petite filet "oscar style" is so tasty and I would highly recommend this paired with their jalapeno cheddar potatoes! Service was fantastic and our server had a wonderful personality. The manager also came by several times to ensure all of the guests were taken care of and were enjoying themselves. She was very nice. We had informed the server of our desire to try and stretch out this great night so he ensured to space our appetizers, salad, entrees and dessert appropriately. He did a wonderful job! We will be back again soon; I recommend this place to everyone I know. Great experience every time. "

  • "Food is always really good, & Wait staff very nice. Considering that when we were there at 5:15-6:30, it was almost all over-50's in the dining room, we did not understand the choice of music. That might be better for the bar. "

  • "Visited for Mother's Day Brunch. We were charged for the Mimosa, although the website specifically mentioned free Mimosa for Mom. Waiter did not ask how the steak or eggs should be prepared. Diet coke was brought instead of Coke. My meal of salmon was cold. And mother did not receive a tulip or any flower that others received nor offered any bath salts, although a cart full of them were sitting in plane view. Won't be coming back!"

  • "This is the 5th time in a row that we have gone to Savannah's Chophouse for Mother's day. They food is always good and the service great too. Usually they give us a flower but this time was lavender bath salts. Any remembrance is nice!"

  • "My wife having eaten there a few times and enjoyed it, we went on Saturday evening to honor her for Mother's Day (the next day). We waited (standing; we are 67 years old) about 20 minutes past our reservation time. The server was abrupt and inattentive. The caesar was bland, the 16-oz ribeye ($46 + $4 so we could split it) was extremely fatty, and there was an upcharge because my son cannot eat potatoes and they wouldn't allow a vegetable substitution. For $170 for three people eating only two entrees and consuming only two cocktails, we were v-e-r-y disappointed. "

  • "We enjoy the ambience with the big high-backed booths and white tablecloths. The short ribs are the absolute best and the steaks are pretty darned good. The cocktails are well poured and delicious. "
