A word from Santorini
Santorini Estiatorio is founded on the celebration of the Greek experience, through Greek culinary tradition and culture. In Greece, a meal is an opportunity to celebrate life with those around us. Together our commitment to service, dedication to value, and exceptional quality will create an atmosphere that will give guests that same opportunity. We will serve with the same passion for life that is embodied in the Greek Culinary history and culture.

Santorini's menu boasts a wide variety of traditional Greek dishes, wines and cocktails. The goal is to reintroduce customers to Greek food with a mix of well-known facorites and specialty dishes that many people can only find in Greece.

The entire look and feel of the restaurant has been designed to make customers feel like they have been transplanted to an island in Greece.

Diner Reviews
  • "I had the quail appetizer & the Lavraki. Amazing! Disappointed that Loukamades weren't on the menu but everybody runs out of stuff during Restaurant week so apparently those were really popular."

  • "We tried Santorini for the first time during spring restaurant week. The food was amazing and the drinks were great. Everyone in our group was really pleased with the restaurant."

  • "The set $30 dinner menu for Restaurant Week had a nice selection of apps, entree and dessert. Worth the visit! The ambiance wasn't particularly memorable, comfy booth seating, plenty of tables. Good for large groups. Location is in the prime area of Greektown. Perfect for going out for drinks afterwards at Level 2."

  • "Hadn't been here since it was Mosaic. Energetic vibe. There was a Red Wings game, so it may not have been a typical crowd. We had our kids with us & the staff was great with them. Very attentive service."

  • "Ambiance was nice, minus the over-whelming noise. Hard to hear, hard to talk. Fantastic food! Good prices...Good location."

  • "My wife and I dined at Santorini last night. We ordered the Red Snapper and the Salmon. Both very good. The Saganaki Opa was runny - seems like they are not using aged Kaseri cheese. Overall the food was good. But the ambience is terrible. The noise level is very high… we were almost shouting to be heard. There are no sound baffles on the ceiling and the ceiling is not that high. That makes for a very noisy place. The place is very large and the tables are lined up like a cafeteria. This is not your romantic dining experience - if you wished for it based on the name Santorini. The bill was presented like it is in a diner… no sheath/folder. We could not wait to get out of there due to the environment…"

  • "Good service and wonderful staff. Food was authentic and delicious."

  • "Meals were priced very reasonably for the amount you get. Drinks were never empty, they were filled before I even knew it was low. Fantastic service, empty plates were never on the table for more than a minute. Very engaging waiter, food was delicious. Would definitely go back again."

  • "Best lamb chops. My favorite restaurant in the Detroit area."

  • "SANTORINI brings a renewed renaissance in fine dining to Detroit! The location in Greektown suggests typical fare as most restaurants on Monroe. The ambitious menu offers a host of creative, imaginative appetizers, salads and entrees of chicken, seafood and steaks to satisfy even discerning tastes. Place a reservation online, simple as a Tweet, E-mail confirms. Service is excellent and attentive. How did the server anticipate my thirst? Magically, he appears filling our water glasses and leaving the carafe on the table. Service is a priority only exceeded by the fare. They feature the best of Greek and Mediterranean courses. Santorini offers an ambitious list of both hot and cold appetizers, and an array of salads. But, steak and seafood"

  • "If you can't make it to Santorini (the island), give Santorini (the restaurant) a try. The staff are the real deal, bringing the warmth and passion of a country to a street corner in downtown Detroit."

  • "Best Greek food in the Detroit Greektown area! We are always treated like we are one of their best customers. The whole staff is very friendly and accommodating."

  • "Decided to try Santorini instead of typical Greek Town restaurant. What a great surprise! Celebrated birthday and the staff made it extra special. The food was very yummy and authentic Greek (having been to Greece myself). We all loved it. Definitely going again!"

  • "Great food and service. Have been several times and will return!"

  • "I would definitely come back here for the food. The service was alright. I know it was Valentine's Day, but they didn't seem overly busy, so I was disappointed that the service wasn't very good. We never received a basket of bread, which overall was fine because it meant more room for the delicious main course, but it was just the beginning of the slow service. It took forever for them to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. I also noticed that the other servers were boxing up the leftovers for tables while our server just dropped the carryout box and left. If the food hadn't been as tasty as it was, I doubt I'd ever go back. However, because the food was so flavorful, I'll give it a second chance and hope for a better server."

  • "I went with my husband on valentine's day and everything was excellent since we step inside the restaurant oustanding quality of service and food. Highly recommend this place for special date or simply a nice meal with a good ambiance and good price. highly satisfied and we will be going often :)."

  • "The restaurant has a great atmosphere but the food was just OK. If you're looking for delicious Greek food, this is not your place. If you're looking for a cool place to do happy hour, then Santorini is perfect for that."

  • "We had reservations for 5 pm. We were the first clients. Welcoming staff. The fried calamari was a dish to share. It was brought to table shortly after ordered. Very fresh and tasteful. We ordered pasta dishes. One of them was cold. We sent it back to be reheated. It was OK. the Loukoumades desert was delicious. The waiters are very careful and polite. The owner comes to each table to greet people. Nice atmosphere. When we left a staff member escorted us to the car. making sure we don't slip on the icy snow and helped us into the car. Good service."

  • "Everything was wonderful about my experience here! My group was almost 30 minutes late for our reservation and we had an extra person with us....we waited maybe 5 minutes and they were able to accomodate us. I had the santorini grill....lamb chops and shrimp, AMAZING! Hands down, one of my favorite meals I had ever had. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. Drinks, appetizers, entrees all top notch! Can't wait to return!"

  • "Nothing special about Santorini - food was largely hit or miss. Lamb chops were excellent, and sampler of small plates was very good; another lamb dish (the nightly special) was very mediocre and the sides were rather sad and overdone. Still, an attractive dining room, a good cocktail bar and reasonable prices."

  • "We had a good time but, our dinner only took about 35 min. We ordered drinks then dinner. Our salad was brought out and one minute later our dinner was out. The food was great, just felt really rushed."
    Dined on 1/17/2014
  • "The food and service was very good. The shrimp with peppers and onions app is my new favorite. Grilled lamb was great but grape leaves average. Our waiter Robert was outstanding. The place was packed with Wings jerseys, but we still got prompt service."

  • "Both my wife and I were pleased with our meal. I had the trio and she had Moussaka. We split a bottle of wine which seemed to be on the pricey side. The Moussaka was terrific. Desert was the homemade baklava. Wow, so that's what baklava can be! Moist and full of honey flavor. Wonderful nutty texture. Service was great. We want to come back in the summer when the street side door walls would be open. It would be fun to watch the summer greektown crowd going by. It was a short walk to the Peoplemover station which took us to Cobo hall for the auto show. We had a great Detroit evening."

  • "Very nice location right on Monroe. Excellent staff but having been to Greece for holiday so many times it became apparent some of them were not trained to be very familiar with Greek food.Bread, Feta and salad were the best - simple but the ingredients were so fresh. We would come back just for this. The Manager is the perfect gentleman and an excellent host and he showed genuine interest to ask my wife and I if everything was OK."

  • "Just not what was expected. Not a good night to judge for new years maybe? but first, they too long to come to table, then couldn't find the wine, then didn't have the wine, then brought one of the apps, not the other... Then had one order completely wrong, rare not med well, rice not potatoes. New server who was clearly overwhelmed but hope for better luck next time if we return."

  • "The food was great. We went NYE which it was extremely busy. We had a reservation at told they were behind 20 minutes. Waited 45 for our table then another 15 for someone to even come to our table. Our waitress was very attentive with one table and one table only. Was very aggravating, would go back but would request a different server."

  • "It was my daughters 21st birthday and my father in laws 82nd. We couldn't of asked for better food or service. It was lively, we had a seat right by the window with great people watching. It was overall a great experience. Everything involved with the meal was Excellent. Thank you to Santorini!"

  • "Appetizers were lovely, we ordered some of the spreads. The main courses were adequate, but served cold. The waiters were friendly."

  • "Honestly, when we went in earlier before the Monday Night game, it was a disaster. Our bartender was overwhelmed, very short with us, and not very friendly. However, when we came in after the game and had Chrysilios as our server, everything was great. The lamb was tender, and the service was phenomenal. It was just like the Santorini Brendan and I are used to going to."

  • "After Cyprus Taverna closed several years ago, I've been searching for a new spot in Greektown. While this is a much more elegant atmosphere, they get the food right. Don't believe the Hype of the huge Pegasus down the street. Santorini will satisfy."

  • "On a day when not many restaurants are open (Thanksgiving), we had a very enjoyable experience. The staff was very pleasant and super accommodating. We ate from the special menu and had a very tasty meal. Looking forward to returning to sample the regular menu, soon."

  • "Went for thanksgiving meal here. The food was okay, not sure if they prepared the meal. We also had a couple of items off the menu which were very good. Good service. Nice decor. Will rerurn for authentic Greek cuisine in future"

  • "The place is the best in Greek Town Detroit. I am foody and I like the place very much. I love lamb and the lamb shank is the best. This is the way my family make it. The "Trio Traditional" was very good. The atmosphere remind you of Greece. The chef knows his material. It is not a fake Greek Food if you order the real ones."

  • "My wife and I ate at Santorini last Saturday night. The entire experience was wonderful. We had made reservations ahead of time and that worked out great. I had mentioned that it was an anniversary dinner and they wished us a happy anniversary upon our arrival. We were seated immediately and were well taken care of all night. Our waiter was prompt, friendly and helpful. The food was magnificent. Cooked perfectly & each bite tasted wonderful. The wine was delicious and fairly priced. The location of the restaurant is great too. It's right in Detroit's Greektown and there is a lot of street activity. This place has everything we were looking for."
