A word from Salt 88
Melding Mediterranean with a dash of everything We've given our cuisine an incredible amount of thought--the planning of this menu kept our chef up many nights. To put it simply, you can call the cuisine at Salt "Modern American," but "Eclectic" might be more in our lane. Our dishes feature unpredictable combinations, bold and lively flavors, and the finest ingredients. Enjoy our New American-Italian menu with a touch of Asian influence.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "A few of us foodies (one from out of town) dropped in on our 1st visit. Enjoyed the ambiance, drink selections, food options and presentation, and friendly staff. Asked to speak with the owner on one occasion and he visited our table and with us to answer our questions. The cotton candy story is a great one to hear."

  • "I usually eat what I am familiar with and decided to try this restaurant. I heard so many great things. My favorite restaurant is Hiro, not realizing its part of it. It was amazing. The owner/cook came and spoke to us. Many compliments especially when he made his own wine. Will be coming back."

  • "Took my gal to salt on Saturday night based on a recommendation from a friend. Nice atmosphere, good drink menu with some interesting wines. Highlights were the meat andcheese tray, perfectly cooked steak and pasta. The only thing I didn't care for was the spicy chicken soup."

  • "The food was very good - we had trout and steak, both of which were really good. Our server, Kevin, was outstanding - personable, funny and very efficient. Prices were a touch high, but not unreasonable... we will be back!"

  • "The outdoor patio was a great location on a summer evening. Happy hour menu offered lots of treats at inviting prices."

  • "Despite the reservations were made on Monday for Thursday evening, we were seated right next to a table of 12 people - the noise was unbearable. We asked to be moved but were told there were no other seats, despite the availability of another "reserved" seat where the people hadn't arrived (could have switched). Your restaurant keeps throwing out "curve balls" - I want to patronize your restaurant, but don't want to put up with your poor organization."

  • "The menu was limited but everything looked amazing. The wasabi Gouda mash was excellent. We will definitely visit again. Great sangria too."

  • "Had heard good things about the place but it was nothing special especially for the prices. Also not impressed with the service. After she brought out the appetizers we had to ask TWICE for plates and napkins and utensils while the food sat in front of us. Don't get the bruschetta. Pretty disappointing."

  • "My first time to Salt was back in February and it was amazing!! This time was just ok. We were seated for quite a long time before anyone came over to get our drinks and it wasn't even that busy. The waiter did apologize though. The food was ok but it was not as good as the first time I was there. I had really high hopes after such an amazing first impression, this time just didn't quite measure up. Still a nice place overall."

  • "Looking for a place to cap-off a long day at work? Salt 88 has excellent cocktails to toast with friends from the office. Want tasty drinks paired with a great selection of happy hour appetizers? Of course, what could be better? Our favorites at Salt 88 so far include the Ginger Drop cocktail paired with the Goat Cheese Rangoons and the Main It Rain cocktail paired with a slice of Sweet and Spicy Pizza."

  • "Our waitress was nice and friendly, but there were several times that we wanted her that we could not spot her in the room. I do not know if same waitresses do inside and outside setting. We were all happy with appetizers, soup, main entrees, wine and desserts. Other than that I will say that I like firm vegetables, but my carrots were plain old hard. Wish we had been asked if we wanted to sit outside. I used Open Table to make reservation. Our table was set up inside. It was loud. We went out to patio after eating. It was way quieter and more relaxing out there. I would also like to see salt and pepper on the tables. Everyone does not like their food seasoned the same. What I want should not be the restaurant and chefs choice."

  • "Although Salt is great inside, it's patio is the best in Omaha. The engineering of the roof and walls resulted in a protected outdoor environment. But the food, service and wine list recommends this restaurant for all seasos. It is my favorite place for all occasions."

  • "My wife and I chose Salt after numerous recommendations from friend and family. We are very discerning about our nights out bec they are few and far between. Salt has a great atmosphere and great staff. They also have a very diverse menu and fantastic drinks. The two dishes we tried ended up fifty fifty. I had the wood fired salmon and my wife had the chicken Alfredo. The salmon ranked among the best I had ever had but my wife's pasta dish tasted like chicken and cream of mushroom soup. That wasn't enough to make it a bad night though, I would recommend Salt to anyone with a taste for anything and start of a fun night out."

  • "We were a party of five celebrating our Wedding earlier that day. The specially crafted drinks were out of this world. The Ginger Drop and Make it Rain were stellar. The appetizers were a great sharing size and full of flavor. The Millie, the Ravioli, the Trout and the Puttanesca topped steak were exactly what this group of foodies were craving. The chocolate cake, carmel ice cream and the french pressed coffee were a perfect way to end our meal. The blue berry cotton candy was a unique way to top off an experience we will be rating all others by. Thanks for a great time. Any time we are close by we will definitely return."

  • "This was our first visit to Salt 88 though my son had been there for a birthday party a few months ago (on a separate note he had a wonderful time getting to make his own pizza). Dressy casual feel. The Warm Mozzarella appetizer was more than enough for two to share and was delicious with the fresh tomatoes and vinaigrette. We had the Chicken Terra and Sirloin Puttanesca. While the chicken was very good - moist and tasty with a side of quick-seared spinach - the steak stole the show. Just excellent. We ended the meal with the warm chocolate cake and had to practically be rolled out of there! Our only negative was service. She was very nice but admittedly relatively new. She still has a few things to learn."

  • "Great food, even better service. Our only complaint is the noise level. You could hardly hear the person sitting next to you. The avocado, jalapeño egg rolls were very good, although the jalapeño seemed to be missing. The wasabi gouda mashed potatoes were also excellent although missing the wasabi. Loved the salmon!"

  • "I appreciated the great atmosphere and the delicious food! The waitress was attentive but not overly so. Parking was a little crowded on a Saturday night. It was hard to find a parking place. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!"

  • "We chose Salt for our 37th anniversary and I'm glad we did. The food was excellent. Be sure to try the Avocado Egg Rolls and Tomato Basil soup. Kevin, our waiter, was outstanding and made excellent and was knowledgable of everything on the menu. There are some interesting beverage selections. Be sure to try, the "Make It Rain". When they brought us the check at the end of the meal, we were given green apple cotton candy. I don't even like cotton candy but this was delicious. Such an unusual touch. My only complaint is that they were informed it was our anniversary and it was never acknowledged by anyone. It was important to us so it should have been important to them. A "Happy Anniversary" would have been nice. "

  • "It was a beautiful evening and had heard some good things about the restaurant. We asked to be seated outside, which we were but unfortunately it was next to an overflowing bucket of water dripping from the roof not more than two feet from our table. The service was spotty, the food was average, and the bill was more than what the experience was worth."

  • "I brought my family here, wife and 2 girls (9&11) and they always have a blast with the great food. We always enjoy their mussels on the appetizer menu. The miso salmon is my wife's favorite. "

  • "Salt 88 offers so much and more! An assortment of delicious food from their appetizer choices, caesar salad, soup, pizza, fish, steak and pasta I can always find something different to try and always end up loving it! They have a to die for chocolate cake dessert and the sea salt caramel gelato - YUM! The drink menu is great and a fantastic wine selection. On Thursday's they have a beer and wine tasting event and reverse late Happy Hour and then on Sunday's it's Happy Hour all day long! The patio seating is perfect to enjoy the sunshine and a nice breeze while overlooking the Eagle Run golf course. I've been here 5 times now and it just gets better and better! Definitely my new FAV place to eat and take friends & family too!"

  • "My girlfriend and I have been here on three occasions and each time was great. There is an excellent drink menu and wine list, as well as a nice covered patio for outdoor dining. The interior is modern and welcoming (the Lucite chairs actually inspired us to find some for our dining room at home). The steaks are very tasty, especially when paired with their wasabi, gouda mashed potatoes. The fish dishes are wonderful as well. Try the chipotle shrimp too!"

  • "We had a larger party and sometimes that is an issue for diners. Not here. Service was attentive up until getting our check. That was the only slow time but she did have about 7 tickets to ring up separately. My friend ordered the sirloin puttenesca medium rare and it was rang up wrong. The server quickly had it corrected and the owner brought it out and apologized. Overall we were treated excellent and the food was delicious. I have never seen a flatbread pizza that size. Huge. It could feed a couple of people. Will be back for sure. Can't wait to try happy hour. "

  • "We have dined at Salt88 several times and really enjoyed it. The food is tasty and unique. The drinks different and tasty also. The atmosphere is always vibrant and fun. The servers try to cater to the needs of special diets and go out of their way to please. I've been here for lunch and dinner and have always had good food and service. It is a neighborhood gem!"

  • "Their drink menu was fun and the drinks were REALLY great. However, the food wasn't so great. In fact, no one in our party was the slightest bit impressed. I didn't even want my entree anymore after about three bites. Our waitress was a bit of a dingbat but was nice."

  • "We went to Salt on a Thursday evening to get away from the kids. What a perfect place. Our food was virtually flawless. We started with the Other Calamari and the Avocado Egg Rolls. The calamari was very good with accompanying sauces. Would give it an 8 out of 10. The avocado egg rolls were perfect. 10 out of 10. We then tried the Scottish Salmon and the Sirloin with puttanesca sauce. Both were prepared to our asking and were delicious. Nothing overpowering but incredibly flavorful. Despite being filled to our gills, we couldn't turn down dessert. My wife went with the raspberry cheesecake while I tried the salted caramel gelato. Both were delicious. Thanks for a great evening. • "Had a nice Mother's Day dinner. Welcoming staff but the service was spotty. Started with some Prosecco which was poor quality. Ordered some bruschetta as an appetizer which came as a "do it yourself" preparation. The bread was good but the dish should have come prepared and not self serve. Entrees were good but far from excellent. The restaurant space is pretty and unique."

  • "This time, I must send kudos to waiters (had to switch as our first one went off duty...which they did very nicely, the first introducing the second). They were both very patient young guys with this old 50+ year old going on about how they looked like members of The Eagles and The Who. And yet, at the same time, were rushing to make sure their other customers were helped without making us feel like we were being put off. I wish I could remember the first guys name (aka. Glenn Frey of Eagles) but the one that finished off most our visit was Kasey (or Casey) was the look-alike for a young Roger Daltry of the who (both minus the 70's hair of course :) "
