  • "Very good food, will never understand why parents bring small children when they ultimatly get scared with the noise from the chefs entertainment and the swooshs of fire on the grill."

  • "We regularly visit Saganos. The food is amazing! This last time we brought friends that had never tried it and they loved it and had a great time. We requested our favorite chef Tee and he did not let us down! He kept us laughing and entertained while making our delicious meal!"

  • "We had a party of 8 people and sat at one of the hibachi tables. Our chef was fun & entertaining. Food was plentiful & tasty. This was a birthday party so we ordered the birthday package - dessert & picture - totally worth it!"

  • "Another fantastic dining experience at Sagano. This time we brought our two little ones and they had a great time. They were thoroughly entertained! It was a great experience!"

  • "We came on the recommendation of one of our friends. We were celebrating my birthday and we had a great time."

  • "This was my first time at Sagano ( or any Japanese steakhouse for that matter), and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was even better than I imagined. The food was really amazing, I had the steak/chicken combo (which I had leftovers from and I can eat a lot!), which came with delicious noodles, veggies, and a really tasty soup beforehand as well. The service was great, excellent waiter, funny cook, just a great atmosphere and experience. (I did however only catch 2 of the three pieces of chicken tossed in the air for me to catch in my mouth, I'm gunning for all three next time)! Overall, 5 out of 5 stars for sure, I will definitely be back, and would recommend it to anyone!"

  • "My family had a wonderful time! The chef was amazing! Had us all laughing the whole time!"
    Dined on 3/20/2014
  • "Food is delicious but inconsistent - chef overcooked everyone's steak at our table; staff would not accommodate seating us in the Bistro and allowing us to order off Hibachi menu d/t new policy that makes it "easier on the kitchen"; Hibachi table show is OBNOXIOUS - spraying people with squirt gun that looks like a man with his pants down; throwing food across several tables - I don't find that fun! Won't return to Sagano, but will go back to the other Japanese steakhouse in town that is more tame."

  • "Love to dine here, been going for several years. Was very disappointed this last time that we could not bring in our own cake to celebrate."
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "For the price of our dinners, the food was only fair, the waiter was way to eager to get us up and out of there, he didn't listen to our requests, and was in need of a little bit more service training. For the price, we expected a much more formal dining experience. Although the chef was quite entertaining, we would not revisit this restaurant."

  • "I thought the food quality was not as good as my past visits. Hope it was a one time thing and not a new trend. Our visit was early in the day. I would suggest a later evening visit - the energy is usually more exciting."

  • "We have been to Sagano's (hibachi side) several times with large groups over the last two years. We are never disappointed with entertainment of the Chefs. The food is excellent and service is fantastic! I would recommend this place for anyone looking to entertain a crowd or small group of friends."

  • "Its fun to have the chefs flipping the food around and providing entertainment. The food was just ok and pretty expensive. Worst part though was waiting 15 mins for the server to return after out entire table was done eating. There were 4 different groups at our table each waiting with credit card in hand for a good 15 minutes, thats unacceptable."

  • "I've eaten at the Flint location several times, and this was the first time on the grill side of the Brighton location. On the plus side, we had prompt service, drinks, order taken, and the chef's arrival. The chef himself was very personable, charismatic, and entertaining. The food was very good, prepared to order and well executed. He was by far the fastest I've experienced. On the minus side, the support staff was a little overzealous. I didn't want my water glass to continually refilled and I didn't want them constantly reaching over me to fill it. Also, one of the hosts asked an adjacent table to move along. He did it poorly. They were a reasonable group and simply having a drink after the meal. He was a dip."

  • "My wife and I had a great valentines day dinner here. The wait staff definitely could use some huge improvements but the chefs were all outstanding!"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Always love the fooannoyingwd the hibachi entertainment is great too. I like the sitting with random people sometimes too, can meet new people and talk, unless you get the people that bring a baby to a valentine's hibachi dinner, which case is just annoying."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Didn't do the hibachi experience, instead we had two in our group that wanted sushi. Sushi was ok. Sushi Zen is much better. Service was not that good. Our server started out strong than faded to almost non existent at the end.....except to give us the bill."

  • "I've been to many Japanese Steakhouses and this would be my least favorite. I go for the overall traditional experience. Open floor plan, no hoods above the grills, doesn't have a Japanese atmosphere and food was unsatisfactory. On a positive note my friends had the sushi and loved it. Chef was pretty fun, but young and skills lacking. I will not be returning."

  • "Very upbeat and entertaining. The food was great and the service even better."

    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "I love the entertainment factor that comes with your meal. The prices are not much higher than what I would consider a "nicer" restaurant but you also get the fun hibachi experience! We had a lot of variety at our table - chicken, salmon, shrimp - and it was all cooked perfectly and delicious! The only area that could use some improvement was our hostess. She seemed less than thrilled to be there and wasn't very warm or welcoming. Not a big deal, but still noticeable. Other than that, top notch and a great place!"

  • "It was our first visit as well as the couple with us at Sagonos. We would rate the food as the best we have had in a long time. The entertainment was fun. The service was the best. We cannot wait to come back."

  • "Had a great time celebrating my wife's birthday. Great food and an excellent show preparing the food. Can be a bit noisy, but we don't mind and find it good for young kids. This was our 3rd visit and we've had a great time all three visits. PS. Kids 12 and younger eat free on Tuesdays."

  • "Our server was exceptional!!! We had 7 kids in our party of 11 & he was amazing catering to the kids with a smile without having to be asked which is a real treat when dining with kids!! Thanks!!"

  • "We have been here twice. We went on New Year's Eve with a group of friends. Sitting at the large table and watching the chef cook is entertaining. The food was very good. The soup is to die for. It was too loud to talk much. Service was outstanding. The atmosphere could use some sprucing up but, overall, this place is a good value and fun."

  • "We have eaten at Sagano's on a number of occasions in the past. Each time the experience has been very worthwhile. Our most recent vist on December 23, 2013 was very disappointing. The Asian chef was less than engaging, and appeared to be simply going through the motions. By comparison with our previous experiences, he was a real dud. Compounding the less than desirable Chef performance, he apparently had turned the Hibachi cook surface up too high resulting in a fair amount of food being over cooked or burned. We had a large party (family members) of 12 guests...similar to the other times we have visited Sagano's. Most were unhappy with the dining experience."

  • "I ate here on New Year's Eve, and all of the tables were full on the Hibachi Grill side of the restaurant. The food was delicioius. We were seated with six other people. Everyone appeared to like their soup and salad. The soup had a crunchy texture (fried onions) and the ginger dressing on the salad was flavorful. My husband's hibachi tenderloin was very tasty and the scallops were tender. My tenderloin and shrimp were also good. The meal also included rice, noodles, and vegetables. The hibachi chef played tricks to entertain the group, and the service was also good for even though the restaurant was very busy."

  • "Saganos is amazing! I just came back from my first semester of college and met all of my high school friends for a nice dinner. It can be expensive depending on what you order, but the food is phenomenal (I'm a fan of the yum yum sauce) and the chefs always put on a show! Definitely worth going to at least once in your lifetime!"

  • "Great fun restaurant! Wonderful food! Chefs at the hibachi tables are fun and entertaining! Good for groups of people or just 2! Easy to make reservations on line!"

  • "I have been to Sagano"s on 5 occasions and the food has been excellent with every chef. I recommend Sagano for a first date. Your date will be so impressed. The birthday celebration is awesome. All of the guest join in to sing Happy Birthday which is sure to surprise the birthday girl/boy. The ambiance is both welcoming and relaxing.Definitely my hot spot and worth the drive from Detroit."
