  • "The service was good & I had not complaints but for the money, the food was nothing special. The lobster bisque was overcooked & cream in the soup was scalded. The lobster cakes were very flavorless and had too much cracker breading. Granted this restaurant is well known for their steaks but my husband ordered the rib eye & although, a good flavor, the fat in the rib eye was too much. For half the price & just as great a service, Lock Stock and Barrel will still be my favorite steak place in Boise."

  • "The food was excellent, the service a bit slow. We were seated in the bar area. In the future we will request seating in an area where the ambiance and noise levels are more desirable. The wine list is marginal from our point of view so we brought our wine. The corkage fee of $10 is very reasonable."

  • "Great experience. Service was great and food cooked well. Friendly and not stuffy"

  • "I have eaten in Ruth's Chris steak houses in San Juan, Philladelphia, and Kansas City. The one in Boise is the best."

  • "Overall the positives of this experience were; the waiter Bob was fantastic, the ambiance and the desserts. Ribeye and New York Steaks two people ordered were fantastic. The disappointing parts of this experience were; 3 of the 5 filets ordered were not cooked according to what was asked and were overdone. 1 of the filets was just 'fair'. We had high expectations as others told us the filets were the best they had ever had. Disappointing for the money spent to not have good filets."

  • "Our first visit. The server was slow to bring drinks and take our order. Food was very good if not overpriced. We will probably not rush back to Ruth's..."

  • "We have eaten at Ruth's Chris in Virginia many years ago. The food was good (as expected), but the a la carte pricing added up quickly. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, the wait staff are very nice, and the wine choices were excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again for special occasions, but at $360 for a party of 4 to eat (sans appetizers), it is a little more than I would spend for a regular dinner out. Couple of things I would have changed -- the booth for 5 is way too big! We felt like we had to yell across it in order to have a conversation. And (this may sound odd), but when we had them wrap up the left overs, they didn't include the bones that we specifically wanted for our dog!"

  • "Fantastic steak, lobster and sea bass, great service, every course was excellent. An A++ on our second visit."

  • "It should never take 15 minutes after a drink is ordered for it to come--this didn't start our evening off very well. The food was very good, although one steak was overcooked. We will return but will save for a special occasion as the price was well over $100 for two of us for one drink each, salad, steak, shared vegetable, and 1 glass of wine)"

  • "I love steak, it was the best ribeye I have ever had. I will say if you can't finish all of your food and you love leftovers, make sure when you ask for your leftovers to be bagged up that they include the side items. Their sides are amazing as well, but when I got home all I had in my to go bag was my steak. I only ate about half of my site items and would have loved to have them later. Still it's one of the best restaurants have ever been to."

  • "The six of us dined here to celebrate two birthdays of good friends and they graciously set us up in the private dining room complete with confetti and birthday wishes! The service was very attentive but not patronizing and all the staff were very personable. I never found my wine or water glass empty! The room dampened the noise level which encouraged conversation around the large, circular table. No complaints with the food! Steaks cooked to perfection and the sides were shared and enjoyed by everyone. We will be back!"

  • "Food was fantastic. I had the filet and like my steak cooked medium well. Most places ask if they can butterfly it so I was fully expecting to be asked and they didn't. When my steak arrived it was the full filet (not butterflied) it was cooked to my satisfaction and tasted sooooo good!"

  • "This is a nice addition to the downtown Boise restaurant scene. I don't know if it will be a place that people go to a lot, but for a special occasion it's very upscale!"

  • "This is a well appointed restaurant with really great steaks. The rest of the food is very good, and the bacon brussel sprouts were memorable, but the steaks stand out. The wait staff was attentive and competent and will get better with experience. Our full meal took around 2 1/2 hours and cost a little more than $100 per plate all in with drinks, dessert and tip. Ruth's Chris is a strong addition to Boise's dining scene."

  • "Food, ambience, service all really great. Located right down town Boise. Fun to watch people walk around downtown from the dinner table at Ruth Chris."

  • "Having dined at other Ruth's Chris Restaurants around the country, this one is as good and a nice addition to downtown Boise. Excellent Steak. Premium prices make it a special occasion restaurant."

  • "This Ruth location will be outstanding once it gets fine tuned. Server was great. The Helpers were very unfailiar with how things should be presented on the table putting dishhes on top of dishhes. The wine list is very limited especially in the Cabernet area."

  • "There have been many restaurant closings in Boise recently. Ruth's Chris Steak House steps into a competitive arena and raises the game in Boise. The 8th Street location of this restaurant will generate lots of traffic but the food & service will have them coming back. Overnight, Ruth's Chris has established themselves as a top restaurant in Boise. Our server and other staff were very attentive. Food took a while to come up on a very busy Friday night but it was prepared perfectly with amazing portions. Everyone took home a portion of their meal in logo doggy bags. I brought a special bottle of wine to celebrate a friend's birthday and it was opened without comment. A second bottle was ordered off the excellent wine list."

  • "Certainly no surprise to us, but dinner for two was $175 with a bottle of wine, but no appetizer or dessert. The ribeye and filet were great! However, the wedge salad was just okay. There certainly is plenty of food as we both took some of our steaks home. The atmosphere is nice, but we didn't check "romantic" because it is an open room with no intimacy. We would probably go back, but more probably would chose Barbacoa or Brickyard first."

  • "Our server was the best I've ever had! Bob was attentive and recommended a fabulous bottle Of wine to compliment our meal!"

  • "Delicious amazing steak! Diffidently worth the money. The $11 drink wasn't worth it. It seems the chef is more generous than the bartender. Spent $120 for 2 people but loved every bite! Worth it for special occasions , but disappointed they did not offer free birthday dessert. After spending $100 on dinner I would think they could offer at least some sort of free dessert for birthdays."

  • "The service was outstanding! Felt like a cafe due to the seating arrangements and noise level. Servers constantly carrying trays over our heads and we were bumped into several times."

  • "Celebrated Valentines Day, one week late with my wife and daughter. Entire experience was wonderful. Treated my wife and daughter like royalty. If you get the chance ask for Ricky. Cannot wait until we can go back."

  • "This location of Ruth"s Chris had been open less than 1 week when we were there for dinner. Lot's of kinks to work out in a new Restaurant. Wife ordered Lobster Bisque and Sea Bass, I ordered T-Bone, Rare and Shoestring Fries. Seared Ahi appetizer was best we have ever had. Wife's Lobster Bisque and Sea Bass were incredible. My T-Bone was overcooked to medium and the Fries were cold. Server was prompt in checking back after delivering the food and immediately re-ordered. My new steak was delivered by the Chef and was prepared properly. However, the Fries were now overcooked. Manager was advised of the problem and returned with the third order of Fries prepared hot and fresh. Service and food were great after the opening fumble."

  • "The food was excellent and the staff was great. The only thing I can think that might have been a little negative was that it felt like we were right on top of the tables next to us. The tables were very close. Other than that, the décor was beautiful. Definitely the best Ceasar salad and filet I have had!!!"

  • "I found that they were seriously lacking in ambiance, seating to be too close, and just white walls to look at. It was much too busy and noisy with staff bustling back and forth. It was always like a fast blur going on all around you. That being said I found the Ribeye Steak to be the best I've ever sunk my teeth into. The side were excellent. The food in general was 4Star."

  • "Great to have a Ruth's in Boise. Went the first week they were open and they had their act together and delivered classic RC sizzle. Welcome to our cool downtown!"

  • "Not impressed enough to come back...Food was outstanding but service was not worth the price..We had our drink order forgotten and waited 25 min in between our bread being served and our dinner coming out...We were also asked by our server to help clear the unused place settings from the table which was awkward..."

  • "Our first visit to the recently opened Ruth's Chris was nothing short of fantastic. Our server and his assisant were attentive without being persistent or overbearing, and the manager was quick to come chat, check in on us and make sure our experience was perfect. The food was great! Steak temperatures were perfect, and the steaks themselves were fantastic. The sides were great. RC is a much needed addition to Boise's dining scene and I look forward to my next visit."

  • "We thoroughly love dining at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and the food is amazing. The portions are very generous, which is also nice to see in a fine dining establishment - we have always had more food than what we could eat! Additionally, the wine list is a nice compliment to the house. The service is equally as enjoyable. The staff is very professional and I especially like that fact that management is overseeing and checking on guests to be sure that the experience is something they will remember. Ruth's Chris is now our favorite steakhouse in the valley and we will certainly be back. Thank you - Job well done!"

  • "Having dined at several Ruth's Chris restaurants in the past, I knew what to expect: excellent food, professional service, and attention to detail. I also knew that this was Boise and I wanted to be realistic. Despite having stopped in earlier in the week and selecting a table for Valentine's Day with the private dining manager, we were told that they had gotten 'too busy' and that they could not honor the request. The restaurant was about half full. Other than that muff, the food was wonderful, the wait staff clearly new but passable, and it was a fun vibrant scene, and very unlike Boise. We'll be back next month and hope that they will have improved, and that they will be able to be well above the average Boise dining experience."

  • "My steak was over cooked but it was still delicious! I had asked for medium pink in the center and it was well done..but not tuff. The flavor was still good...the brussel sprouts were outstanding! Our waiter JT I believe was his name, did comp a glass of wine for the over cooked steak. My husband had surf and turf and also said outstanding! Welcome to Boise..."
