Overall, good experience, energetic city location. 2 concerns: they had lost heat and the bar area was chilly. Two, server disappeared for a long stretch; otherwise she was good.

Asked the hostess what her favorite dish was (don't ask the servers because they push what the kitchen tells them) and she was spot on. The Macademia Nut Encrusted Mahi Mahi was very, very good. I was also pleasantly surprised with a starter of edimame. It had a nice spicy seasoning sprinkled on top. I wish it were just a tad bit brighter at the table. It was a little hard to read the menu without pulling out my cell phone. Still, that made it nice for the couple that were there together. Service was great and food was great. Nice experience.

Food and service are very good. Atmosphere is pleasant ' but very noisy even though the place was less than half full. This is not an inexpensive $$ restaurant as advertised. Two entrees splitting both an appetizer and dessert with coffee and iced tea was over $100!

Two of us shared 3 different appetizers -- blackened ahi, lobster potstickers, and sezhuan spareribs. Those 3 dishes, with a bottle of wine, and a shared pineapple upside down cake with vanilla ice cream, were plenty to eat. Enjoyed the variety.

Enjoy coming to the restaurant in the Canton area of Baltimore. Try the Parmesan Crusted Hake! A beautiful fish dish served with a potato libster risotto that's amazing. This is a busy place make sure you reserve early. Also let them know if your celebrating a special occasion. Be sure to try either one of their specialty desserts - the pineapple upside down cake with coconut ice cream is wonderful and big enough to share.

A great dining experience overall! Super friendly staff, from welcome at the door to wonderful server, Kristen. The sea bass and ahi tuna were absolutely amazing--we also tried the tempura ahi (great!) and the chicken samosa (a bit oily) for appetizers. Compliments to the chef, Mr. Ellis, and his fine establishment.

From the intricate detailed service to the kid memories of confetti reminding me of my bday, Michael our server was, spot on. My partner & I enjoyed every moment spent at your restaurant. He had a great sense of humor about my Hennessey joke. The special touch of presenting my Molten Lava cake with a photo of us blew us us away. Its in our home framed. Not to mention from app to dinner was beyond delicious. I work for a 4 star independent hotel in the downtown Baltimore area and had the I pleasure to speak to your hospitality manager Friday evening and I will definitely be sending business your way being the Concierge GSA. Thank you Megan & Michael for a good start of my bday. Sorry Megan for the peppermill work out 😉

Roy's is one of my favorite restaurants for the simple reasons of great food and service, which never disappoints. They now have a chef's selection menu added to their regular menu which will change often and only fresh seasonal ingredients. Many restaurants are going to more of a farm to table option and glad to see a chain doing the same thing. The Kung Pao calamari on the seasonal menu was delicious and just the right kick of heat. The butterfish is always a good choice as is the trio for they know how to cook fish here as it is always moist and flavorful but not swimming in sauce. This was an 35th anniversary celebration, out 4th in a row there and they could not have been more accommodating and gracious to us.

I reserved 2 weeks ahead for my wife's birthday and Roy's did not disappoint. I noted "birthday" when I made reservation, when they greeted us they wished my wife happy birthday, they had the table prepared with ribbons and a card, took our picture during dinner and put it in the little card frame that was on the table. And a free lava cake for the birthday girl! What a nice touch. Roy's is a bit pricey but great for special occaision. Butterfish lettuce wraps, lobster pot stickers, ahi tuna main course, seared scallops main course were all prepared to perfection. And the cocktails (Mai tai, pineapple martini) were superb as well

Roy's is always a great place to dine -- and brings back great memories of dining at Roy's in Ko'Olina, Oahu. This week, headed there with friends for a pre-concert dinner...and trapped in traffic on the way. The hostess was gracious about holding our reservation for more than an hour as we called 3 times with traffic updates. It was a busy weeknight - but really appreciated their willingness to honor the reservation. Terrific meal to boot.

We usually do not go for the "chain" restaurants for special occasions, however, a trusted friend recommended we make an exception and we were glad we did. While not every dish was perfect they had great flavors. The Butter Fish dish was wonderful. Their staff was extremely attentive and offered great suggestion each step of our dinner. I would have liked to see a better selection on their wine list. Save room for desert!

We came to Roy's for an anniversary dinner and had a good time. Our anniversary weekend fell at the same time as the Star Spangled Banner celebration in Baltimore so everything was packed. That meant that it wasn't a very romantic ambience, but definitely a lot of fun. We each had a drink from the bar that was worth its price and then each had a salad and the Trio as our main course. The salads were delicious with lots of fun flavors and accents. The Maryland Peach salad was juicy and creamy with yummy chunks of chevre. The Trio was nice because we were able to sample a few different fish preparations. The Butterfish far and away was the best with its light texture and sweet soy glaze. I would go back for a nice dinner out with friends.

I recommend trying the chef's selections over the other menu items. These specially prepared items were creative and flavorful, and were quite the surprise from this chain restaurant. Finally, the specially prepared desserts were also spectacular. Overall, just a great dinner. I will definitely be returning.

I've been to Roy's a couple of times and not been disappointed. Quality of food is very good overall, great quality fish cooked extremely well and presented very nicely. On this occasion it took a while until our table was ready. Also portion sizes can be a little mean, that meant we ended up eating 3 courses when normally i'd be happy with 2. Otherwise I'd recommend.
