  • "I had requested a window seat however, it seemed no one recognized the request. They did apologize for not seeing it. It was a reason we chose to dine early 5:30. We had a delicious meal and the wait staff was especially caring for our needs. The manager acknowledged how many of our friends we had sent to their restaurant with a lovely dessert. Rosebud Steakhouse is in our neighborhood and we can trust sending guests there for a special evening. They most frequently return with raves."

The bartenders and servers treat you like royalty! It is absolutely a first-class dining experience! All of the cuts of meat are delicious. The salads ad phenomenal and believe it our not, the burgers are like a no-frills attached Kuma class delight! I highly recommend!"

  • "Food was good, but would not return to this restaurant. We were overcharged $5.00 when we received the bill. While this may seem small and may have been an honest mistake (we were told the "chef" put the wrong price for the entrée into the computer) it should be up to the server to ensure the bill is correct before presenting it to the guests. I have eaten in numerous restaurants around the world and never had this happen. The bill is the guests' final impression of the restaurant. In this case it was not a good one."

  • "It was our first experience at the Rosebud Steakhouse. We have dined at the Italian Rosebuds, which are all fabulous. This steakhouse did not disappoint either! Even though it was a st. Patricks weekend, everyone was dining without the celebratory rowdiness We will definitely dine there again when looking for a good steak!!! The sides of creamed spinach and augratin potatoes were the best I ever had. Two thumbs up!!"

  • "We had a party of 4 on a cold and snowy winter night. We were seated very quickly and out of the way of servers so did not experience what others complain about most. The noise level was also much better than I have seen in previous visits. Our waiter (Bobby) was very efficient and had all important information for us. He was quite pleasant and attentive throughout our time there and was very helpful in answering any questions that we had and helped a couple of people make final decisions. Our meals were excellent and enjoyed by all, including crab cakes and bone in rib eyes. We have eaten here about once a year for the past 4 years and have enjoyed good food and service each time."

  • "I have been going here for 12+ years. The restaurant has recently gone under a few cosmetic and menu changes. They are brilliant! The appetizers are plentiful and creative standbys. The selection of menu items is great and the overall quality is superb! This neighborhood gem is so well run by George and his staff. Attention to details is impeccable. Highlights include a world class wine list, Dover sole that is the best around bar none, and the steaks including the 35 day dry aged are pricey but well worth it for the aficionado! Homerun every time I go. Ask for Kevin Johnson. He's the best server around!"

  • "I took my wife here for Valentine's Day and our first experience was amazing. Very romantic restaurant with suttle jazz music playing and a huge wine list. They have the best steak I have ever tasted with some delicious sides. It's a must go if you are visiting Chicago and want to wine and dine on steak and seafood. This place is a bit pricey but the price is well worth the food and service you receive."

  • "The food was the best part buy that isn't saying too much at all. My steak was charred and definitely overcooked, and if the place wasn't shoulder-to-shoulder busy, I would have sent it back. The service was horrible, and our waiter was so old and aloof that he passed up our table every time me or my girlfriend needed a refill or anything. Way too crowded and the overall experience was pretty awful. I wouldn't waste your time here."

  • "We were very disappointed when our favorite streeterville restaurant, the Saloon, closed in January. So on a recent trip to Chicago we tried Rosebud Steakhouse, hoping it would be similar. Well, it's excellent. Great menu, service, and ambience. Paul, our waiter, was very helpful and attentive. Wine list was great, and our sea bass was perfect. The hit of the evening was the jalapeño hash browns... Fabulous! Also, the classic, clubby atmosphere was perfect, very comfortable. The Rosebud Steakhouse gets five stars!"

Ribs were a bit dry and not that great of a sauce. Service was ok. She was disappointed that we shared and got appetizers so she was not that attentive. I wonder if I had a steak if my review would be better."

  • "My sister and I took my mom downtown for the night to celebrate our mothers 60th birthday. We were excited to eat a good meal and enjoy our evening. While the food was excellent, the service by Mark was upsetting. He started off by sharing the specials and engaging us, but as soon as we inquired about a couple of items that weren't high price steaks , Mark changed his whole attitude. He was rude to my mother, and was not looking to share the ingredients that were in the salad that my sister wanted. We thought that he redeemed his service by bringing out some fried pickles that were on the house but continued to make sarcastic comments about our order."

  • "Every year we spend our anniversary weekend at a Michigan Avenue hotel and venture out to a steakhouse. We have been to all the Top Rated ones and have not been impressed. This year we picked Rosebud because it was in walking distance to the hotel. What a gem!! All of our meal from the oyster appetizer to creme brulee desert were delicious. I had the dry-aged delmonico and my husband had the strip. Both were simply seasoned and had such wonder flavor. Now about the service. Our server was "Paige" and she was quite wonderful. I would have to say that we owe such a wonderful night to her. She was knowledgeable, attentive and darn right pleasant. Thanks, PAIGE!! We will be back to see you again!!!"

  • "We needed to replace our favorite steakhouse, the Saloon (closed), and thought the Rosebud seemed promising. Our petite filets were excellent...sides ranged from very good (grilled asparagus) to poor (au gratin potatoes...very "mushy"). Service was fairly prompt, but our server was "too much"...a bit over the top with the chatter, etc. The setting is fine, but it was extremely loud and the tables are tight...servers kept hitting our chairs as they flew past. For the money, I have to think there are better options."
