  • "Happy Hour is 4-7. My drink was empty for 20 minutes before the waiter came back - it was 6:58 and I said I wanted the white wine on the happy hour menu. Waiter said sorry happy hour is over - I showed him my phone which said 6:58 and he said our clock says 7! argued with me. Couldn't believe it - he could have handled that much better. We'll never go back. First impression food was average and service was amateur."

Every time the menu is changed, it seems to loose the more healthy choices, deep frying fish for instance in the tacos and smothering in creamy sauce. Each time we order, it seems like the server has to say "well, I'll check with the chef to see if we can do it without or do it with" whatever we want. Its usually done, but why not just keep it on the menu?By the way, we love the brown rice and bowl of black beans served with main courses!"

We were celebrating a special anniversary and the chef came out to speak with us and present us with complimentary champagne. The table-side guacamole was done with flourish ad was the best in town. They have more rules than an elementary school (re: seating, happy hour, table-side guacamole, etc.), and possibly the worst service that I have ever experienced. The hostess was confused, the manager was rude, and our server was disinterested. There were only two other tables full while we were there, yet getting our waiter's attention was like mission impossible. The unlimited guac is not really unlimited if you have to hunt and beg to get it each time. (We were only able to get one refill.)"

  • "We got a really great deal through Livingsocial and the amount of food and drinks we got for the money bordered on ludicrous. We ended up taking home almost half the food. The service was very, very professional while still friendly and personal, and the overall vibe was sophisticated without being oppressive. The ceviche tacos were a bit intense for my wife and I; the flavors and richness were amazing, but overwhelmingly flavorful. I'd say too much citrus and a bit heavy-handed on the truffle oil for our taste. Other than that we loved everything. My margarita was superb and the tacos surpassed my expectations. My favorite was the Filete steak tacos, and how the steak blended with the sauteed mushrooms. Seriously eye-wateringly good"

  • "Rosa Mexicana has some highs and lows. By far the best thing about RM is their fresh made guacamole. Delicious. And the margaritas were good as well. We sampled frozen strawberry, grand marnier, and regular on the rocks margaritas - all good. The on-the-rocks margarita was a tad bit strong for our tastes. The chips are fine (nothing special) and the salsa is odd - very sweet. The worst part was the main course. I had an empanada with chicken - it was so very dry corn (I think) tortilla with shredded chicken with no sauce or flavor inside. None of the other tree people with me enjoyed the dish. This was my first visit and I will likely not go there again. Total bill for 4 people was almost $200."

  • "There really is nothing wrong with the food at Rosa Mexicano and the service the night we were there was great but the real problem is even attempting to take Mexican "upscale". Mexican food has its roots in the street and its flavors and heritage own it to the core, trying to put the food on a fancy plate rarely elevates the food beyond its already delicious roots and oftentimes the food disappoints not because it isn't good but because you realize that your $15 enchilada isn't any better than the $5 you get from the taco truck."

  • "The place is beautiful. Great looking place. The food is ok, but expensive. I don't mind expensive, when it is remarkable, which this was not. Service was fair to poor. Different servers trying to decide whose table we were, then no one waiting on us. We were offered a refill of the complimentary chips, but they did not refill our salsa. I ordered a "Family style" entree, and was not brought a plate until I had completed eating. All of this on a Wednesday night when there was lots of tables available. I'm afraid what service is like on a Friday..."

  • "Five of us met for a friends 51st birthday. The service was excellant and the food was fantastic! Our server, Abel Diaz was able to answer all of our questions on the menu. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what everything was and all of the ingredients. Two of the ladies in our party recognized Chef Mauricio Legorreta from a news segment they had seen recently. The chef was kind enough to come to the table many times during our meal and explained the food and how it was made. The guacamole and the queso fundu was great! And all of our entree's were perfectly prepared and tasted amazing! The chef also treated us to a desert of churro's en bolsa and it was so delicious. We had a great experience and will surely be back again! "

  • "First I was glad that we could get a reservation on a Sat night as many restaurants don't take them anymore. We were seated right away. Waiter was attentive and made good recommendations. I loved their signature frozen pomegranate margarita. The previous reviewer was right...they do not skimp on the alcohol. Everything was very fresh tasting, especially the guacamole that they make at your table - although $14 is pricey. Food came quickly. My daughter and I split the steak tacos which were very flavorful. Can't wait to go back again."

  • "Went for Mother's Day brunch. Restaurant was only about 1/4 full, so expected attentive service. Received wrong menus at first, should have been Brunch menu, got the Dinner menu instead. Ordered the table-side fresh quacamole - took over 20 minutes to arrive and then had to ask for more chips. I thought an empty chip basket would be an indicator that more were needed! Food was tasty, but average for the price point. I ordered one item and was delivered something completely different - however, since I was torn between those 2 when I ordered, I didn't send it back. They gave my wife a complimentary sparkling wine and some truffles for Mother's Day which was a nice touch. $95 for 3 people - could have been better."

  • "The food is always amazing. Our server was pretty new and really wasnt familiar with the items on the menu. I ordered an orchata and he thought it was a food item. After about 20 min of waiting I asked about my drink and he apologized and said he thought it was food. He then came back and said they didnt have the orchata available but offered to get me any drink I wanted on the house. I had a margarita instead. He was nice...just odd to go to a Mexican restaurant and your server doesnt know what an orchata is. My husband and I were there for Sunday brunch. It was pretty empty. There was only about 2-3 occupied tables. "

It was ok to order in the bar and than go to our table but not go to our table and order from the specials. Just seems a little unusual.
