Minestrone with no veggies ?- just white beans and broth? What's that? And what was that soupy cheese and nasty "kale chips" on the "special" tomato Salad? We have always loved Rizzutos - was very disappointed tonight!"

  • "My new friend recommended that we meet up at Rizzuto's. I came from out-of-town and it was very easy to find. The restaurant is quite romantic. We arrived an hour later than our reservation time but we were seated without a problem, even when we asked for a table outside. Inside it was loud because it was a Friday night but outside it was the perfect noise level for a first date -- quiet enough to talk but enough of other people's conversations to laugh at when we hit a lull. The menu was creative and authentic. Our waiter was in tune to our need to be left alone and he was perfectly engaging and disappearing. We stayed to 11! No one kicked us out."

  • "We like Rizzuoto's for casual family gatherings on Sunday afternoons. The circular booths are very conducive to keeping young children cornered and happy. Very nice and attentive waitstaff, a diverse menu and improving food during the past 2-3 years. Prices are not low but not exorbitant either."

  • "My wife and I travel hard and have yet to find the combination of quality food & drink, ambiance and service we get at Rizzutos. John the Manager has a great staff and they always make a night out a special occasion! I have NEVER been to another restaurant that is consistently excellent like Rizzutos. We eat out 4+ times per week and have hit every "major" restaurant in the northeast. It is a great bang for the $ and the food is thoughtful, local/fresh and perfectly executed every time. The bar turns out great drinks and they carry the best micro brews around and even my favorite rye (Whistle Pig). Keep up the great work!!!! See you soon!"

  • "I am very impressed with this restaurant! I am a serious foodie and a service-snob, and Rizzuto's lived up to my high standards. We had an amazing server, who recommended delicious dishes and was very knowledgeable about the menu items and wine list. My husband and I really enjoyed the meat and cheese plate, risotto (a huge portion) and the funghi pizza. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for food was because the cheeses were cut incorrectly; Humbolt Fog has a delicious layer of ash running through it, and our slice did not include that. We were also impressed by the Happy Hour options ($5 Prosecco? Yes please!). But we were disappointed that they were out of oysters... Overall, we had a great first experience at Rizzuto's."

  • "I usually enjoy the food here: pizza, pasta, salmon and the wine. This time I had the Veal Osso Bucco, which I did not care for. The veal was very tender, but I found the sauce salty and a little vinegar-y. It's the first time I've had the dish, so maybe it's just me. My husband had the lobster, which was very good. Our server was very pleasant, and we had great service. The place is a little noisy, with the wood décor and high ceiling. We were seated in a little alcove by a window, so it wasn't too bad this time."

Make sure air flow inside restaurant is monitored; it was too warm for the evening temperature. Wait staff was very good."

  • "We had to bring our boss for lunch, and he picked Rizzuto's. Easy to make the reservation, I was surprised to find the restaurant almost empty at 12.30 on a Friday. What made it even more surprising as the lunch went by was because the service was great, the food was great, and the prices were more than fair. This place should be bustling. Perhaps it's known more for the happy hour."

I,also, enjoyed the breads that were served with the meal and the marinara dipping sauce was delicious. Our server, Michael, was excellent. He was attentive but not in our face attentive which can be very annoying. Great dining experience. Will definitely go to Rizzuto's again."

The lobster, clams, mussels, sausage and other items on the main course were great. My only complaint was the lobster was a hard shell and the kitchen did not crack or cut any part of it. It took a lot of work."

There is a good vibe here and although it was crowded...the noise level in the dining area was not too loud so we could have a conversation during dinner. I especially liked that the management does check on diners to be sure that everything is to their liking. We will return!"

It is one of the few restaurants in the center that you can make a reservation but I am not sure that it is worth it. The food is ok not worth the price. Service this time was ok. It was fine because we were not in a hurry but again our expecatation for the price range would be better than what we received."

Besides the fact that food is fantastic, it is the only restaurant in West Hartford with an amazing outdoor setting…so European… The pasta in Rizzuto's is very Italian. With character and surprises…The chef dears to try new things, which makes even a weekly visit interesting. We are never bored and eat there every week. Love it!!! The staff are all happy and cheerful. They will always accommodate any request. The wine list is rich and reasonable. We love the Italian flair and Rizzuto's has it... "

  • "My wife and I have dined at Rizzuto's on three different occasions. Once on a Saturday night we happened upon this place because Blue Back Square in West Hartford was hopping! We had planned on going to another establishment but it was over an hour wait. We went into Rizzuto's and we were seated in about 10 - 15 minutes even though they were very busy. Our server was fantastic. Very friendly and informative on the menu and drink selection. Our food was fantastic. Very fresh and well presented. We returned on another Friday night for dinner with our teenage daughter. Another great experience. Food, drinks, and service were spot on. Our most recent visit was for their Sunday brunch. Another Great Experience! We highly recommend this place!"
