Diner Reviews
  • "Ambiance was nice, although the live music selections were a little strange--covers of "Folsom Prison" didn't really fit with the elegant atmosphere. The house salad was nicely topped with enoki mushrooms and raw walnuts, and the blueberry cobbler was filled with flavorful small blueberries. Adequate wine list, attentive service. BUT--the pistachio crusted red trout came swimming in a quarter cup of melted butter that wasn't on the menu description. It made the crust soggy and puddled on the plate, seeping into everything. To have what could have been a light, healthy meal ruined by a heavy-handed cook was truly disappointing. The restaurant needs to update such outdated preparation techniques."

  • "First off, we don't drink alcohol, so I can't say anything anything about the bar experience or wine list. So I will focus on the food. I had been here twice for business events where we had rented out the entire place and had a marvelous experience both times. This last time I went with my wife, mom and dad. In short, I will just say the Halibut, trout, and rack of lamb is better than anywhere I have ever been. I seriously couldn't believe how good the fish was. all the food here was top notch. This is as good as any food I've had at a fancy restaurant and I've been to quite a few."

  • "We came to Park City for our 34th Wedding Anniversary. Not knowing about the restaurant scene I queried Open Table which listed Riverhorse as the place to dine. They were not wrong. From the excellent food, the outstanding service and the beautiful view on the ski slopes this was definitely the place the dine. Our waiter Michael was excellent is both the high level of service, his knowledge of the menu and his recommendations. Riverhorse definitely goes in my book of place to return to. A must for dining in Park City"

  • "Great service and excellent food. Pricey (they had lobster tail on the kids menu), but worth it. Live music played in background and our kids loved making special requests. The service was great and very accommodating with kids too."

  • "Riverhorse is one of the finest restaurants in the Park City area. I ordered the surf and turf and I must say that it was one of the best lobster tails I have had anywhere in the world. I raved so much that I ended up giving bites away to most of the people at my table and everyone concurred! The combination of exquisite ambience, superb service and expertly prepared meals made for a very memorable evening. If you can, make this one of the first places you go to while staying in Park City."

  • "Writing as a local who has dined at most of Park City's restaurants at one time or another, I can say that the experience I had at Riverhorse on Main this April 2014 was superlative in every way. The marrow appetizer was delicious, and so was the quail main course. The wine list had many very good choices at all different price levels. Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was relaxed and very pleasant. This is a great place to elevate one's spirits and those dining with you. Great place for a romantic getaway or dinner with friends or business acquaintances. The music provided by Shannon Runyon was an enjoyable backdrop. Riverhorse retains its reputation as one of Park City's best restaurants."

  • "Riverhorse is my favorite place to dine in Park City. It is definitely upscale, but it is still fun. Their menu prices have gone up significantly within the past few months."

  • "This is one of the Park City Main St. restaurants that is worth the high price tag (unless you're comparing to Philly or NYC). Classy ambiance, beautifully prepared and delicious food with enough apps and small plates to satisfy. The truffle risotto and halibut were rich and easily shared. In Summer the balcony provides outside views and light to the diners."

  • "My husband and I make it a point to come here every time we visit Park City and we've never been disappointed. Hands down our favorite restaurant in Park City! Perfect for a special occasion. The service is friendly and impeccable, the food is outstanding, and the atmosphere is lively, but romantic. They often have live music, which is always wonderful. We'll be back!"

  • "This is one of our favorite restaurants in Park City. The food and service is spectacular. The piano player is a perfect touch for a great dining experience. The pictures on the wall are very lovely and the tables are nicely placed around the dining area. The specialty drinks are good to try."

  • "Our favorite restaurant from our vacation. Would have gone back twice compared to the other places in town. Nothing comes close in Park City to the Riverhorse. We will be back every year!!"

  • "We have gone to Riverhorse over for many years with groups of 20 or less. Last Saturday, the food was just OK, not fantastic as before. The bar, dining room, and entire place is great viewing of mountain. The staff was great as usual. The steak and lobster special, Filet, and NY were OK. My wives pork was great. We suggest kick it up a level on the steak as in the past."

  • "My wife and I went there with our kids, on our 10th anniversary. The food was world-class, and the service even better. I had a couple of blueberry cocktails that were unique and refreshing, and the stuffed shrimp appetizer, and the wild meat trio (bison, elk and venison) was amazing. Our kids were made to feel like royalty. All in all, a very satisfying dining experience. We will be back again."

  • "The first topic was the very nice service of the waiter , followed the amazing pianist qnd singer. I asked a wine that the wietr told me was ended, but he could go and find not just only one but 2, Or it's lucky or the guy had wrong information, but for us was wonderful, also asked for a cheese plate out of dessert menu and the chef could made it very nice."

  • "as the first couple of times that we visited. From the table that were seated at, to the attitude of the server, the experience simply wasn't up to our expectations. The food was good but not great. It was our last visit to Riverhorse."

  • "We came to Riverhorse for my husband's birthday and I'm so glad we did. The food was outstanding - the halibut and braised short ribs - and our server was wonderful. The wine was terrific and the kitchen was very accommodating with food allergies. Overall, a terrific experience."

  • "Best food/ambiance/service combination in the Park City area. A must eat for any food lover. Great food with awesome atmosphere. Our server, Michael, was great. I would put this above other great restaurants like Wahso and J&G Grill. Hard to get into this great restaurant so make your reservations early."

  • "We visit Park City every year and we always try to eat at the Riverhorse on Main. It's really a perfect place for a special occasion. The food never disappoints. The service is consistently good and we always enjoy it. It is a bit noisy so I wouldn't recommend it for a quiet romantic dinner but otherwise, it's great."

  • "Tables at this restaurant are apparently assigned a specific number. If you make a reservation and you do not ask for a table by its number you will be assigned the least desirable table because you are not in the know! The staff person taking us to our table took great pleasure in letting us know that we ended up with a table location that the "in people" avoided. Despite this little pretentiousness and the undesirable location of our table, the food was very good and the service was excellent. However, it is small things that separate the excellent establishments from the good ones. I would caution a friend about this “in people” thing before recommending this restaurant."

  • "The food was incredible and service impeccable! Great Moscow Mule cocktail to start and our server Micaela was so friendly and perfect service. I was completely stuffed at night's end. The filet mignon was perfect! Would definitely go back!"

  • "Not our first time to Deer Valley but our first time to Riverhorse....Needless to say, it will be on the "Every Time" list on our future visits. We were welcomed and escorted to our table immediately upon arrival. Our server " Bess" will be asked for on our return trip, great service. Our wine choice ..Caymus Cab. 2009.. " perfect ""!! The chef surprise treat was fabulous . The buffalo tartare was amazing. Our table enjoyed lamb, lobster, ribs, steak..with no compliants from anyone. The ambience was just right, especially with the acoustical guitar playing songs we all knew...not overpowering just right..."

  • "Riverhorse never fails to delight. We are both foodies and tried at least four appetiziers, plus the entrees. Foie Gras with braised oxtail, oysters Rockefeller, scallops, lamb chops with risotto and quail. All incredible good. Plus a great bottle of Rombauer Chardonnay - everything was excellent. I always go when in PC"

  • "This was our first time dining at Riverhorse - we'll be back again next year. We booked our reservation in advance on Open Table. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated promptly at a table in the main dining room. Our waiter promptly introduced himself and provided an overview of the menu and wine list. At the appropriate time, he fully explained the menu choices and provided us with many helpful suggestions. Our water glasses were filled regularly and empty plates were removed from the table on a timely basis. Live music entertainment was enjoyable and not overpowering. In comparison, we rated our Riverhorse experience above Seafood Buffet, Buona Vita, and Zoom."

  • "Ate at three places in Park City in a weekend (Zoom, 501 on Main were the other two); Riverhorse is by far the best - inventive food, and they had plenty of choices for vegetarians (including one gluten free). Plus plenty of meat/fish too... Very personable service from Molly. Ate in the carpeted dining room (there is also an atrium, which while lovely, is reportedly quite noisy). Only snafu was they served an amuse with fish, after we had clearly said we did not eat it... Minor in the scope of an evening."

  • "This is my 3rd year dining at Riverhorse during my annual ski trip to Park city. Never disappoints. While this time due to an error we waited 30 minutes to be seated, the restaurant comped our appetizers and service was as gracious as it has always been. LOVE IT!"

  • "We were looking for a restaurant with great food and a cool ambience and River Horse was the perfect spot! The goat cheese salads and potstickers were terrific appetizers and our friend raved about the bone marrow! As a main course, every one was a winner...the tuna, trout, filet and the specials--even the Mac and Cheese side was rich and delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!"
