We arrived a little early but they seated us quickly. Food was good for a buffet with a good variety of breakfast and lunch items. Great views of the city and Lake Michigan. It was a bit crowded navigating the buffet that was spread out throughout the restaurant and the crowded seating, but well worth it. I would recommend this restaurant to others. When we came in we were greeted in a friendly, warm manner and immediately led to a table right by the window. The staff was prompt in refilling our water glasses, bringing out appetizers, and taking our order. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We each had a different salad. The roasted beet salad was delightful and the Caesar was excellent. We both had1lb Alaskan King Crab Legs with Asparagus Parmesan...perfectly done and delicious. The menu was varied enough to satisfy everyone. Good deal on valet parking - $12 for 6 hours.

Once you get past the packed restaurants with gobs of people waiting, it is nice to arrive at your reserved table at Riva. We are Phil Stefani fans and find Riva consistent, great service, and fabulous views. The food is good too. I had flowers delivered and the staff had them ready on a nice private table with a view of the lake. The Coconut Shrimp and Crabcake appetizers were awesome. In fact, my wife had more as her entree, while I enjoyed a 13 oz. New York Strip steak cooked to perfection! I don't always find a chef who will leave my steak as "cold" or "blue", ie...Extremely Rare. We will definitely keep this establishment on our list of "To Enjoy Again" and to our "Recommended to Friends!"

We had a party of four, and we ordered cocktails and salads and soup. Their beet salads are delicious. Just a perfect balance of flavors and ingredients. I ordered a pumpkin seed crusted paiche which was out of this world fantastic. Perfectly coated and cooked to perfection. Everyone else raved about theirs as well. We shared the giant chocolate cake with our expresso's and cappuccino's, and it was a wonderful treat. Very big, and very rich. A great dessert to share.
