The building has been restored beautifully to reflect the working nature of the tavern and the elegance of the 18th Century. Reynolds Tavern is the oldest tavern in Annapolis and one of the oldest in the U.S.

  • "Some of my girlfriends and I like to get together and have tea. We've had tea at most of the places in the DC and VA areas, and decided to branch out and try Annapolis. Reynolds' Tavern was an absolutely delightful place to have tea. There were many, many choices of types of tea to drink, as well as the style of tea service you might like to have. (Colonial was our choice) Our server was terrific, and the historic tavern was lovely. We even found a small museum-style display of artifacts unearthed from early Colonial Days in the lobby! Our only disappointment was with the tea sandwiches. They were not very good - a real contrast to the rest of the food and a huge contrast to the tea, which was fabulous."

  • "Good food, although a bit pricey. Waiter went out of his way to serve and set up storage of leftovers for our pickup after a Friday night Colonial Players show. Crab cakes very good (although not a really traditional MD crab cake). Mahi and Rockfish meals were very good. Cajun Shrimp and Andouille sausage over Penne excellent (bring your Pepto as it is a spicy dish). Nice dinner all in all. A 6 PM reservation had us out the door and arriving at Colonial Players with ~ 15 minutes to spare for an 8 PM show. On return at around 11 PM noted that the Pub scene was really rockin'..."

  • "Reynolds Tavern has been a favorite of ours for romantic dinners and afternoon tea for years. Their traditional English afternoon tea is one of the best I've ever had. We spent a relaxing 90 minutes enjoying our tea and delicious sandwiches and sweets. The service was top notch as well."

  • "I live my life by experiences or needs. It is the triple play rule(I usually want 3 things) - this experience - I got good food - good service and good ambience. It was probably a Grand Slam!"

  • "First time at Reynolds Tavern and our family really enjoyed it. The food was outstanding, all five of us enjoyed our meals! Not suitable for young children but my kids are all in their early 20's and loved the food. Can't beat the location, love the history and stepping back in time. Meghan did a very nice job caring for our family, sweet girl."

  • "A thoroughly enjoyable experience during Annapolis restaurant week. Unlike some others for restaurant week, Reynolds' menu had several good choices. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the historic setting lovely. We'll be back."

  • "We enjoyed a beautiful candle lit dining experience in the historic Tavern overlooking St. Anne's church in the circle. Every dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Service was intimate and delightful. A real taste of Annapolis best."

  • "Reynold's Tqvern offers the best afternoon tea experience you can find in the area! Quaint colonial tqvern is the real thing, the food is outstanding, and the service is attentive. I recommend the high tea that includes a a pot of your choice from their extensive collection of teas along with a three-tiered assortment of scones, savory sandwiches and tarts, and sweets galore, plus your choice of soup, salad, or quiche (I recommend the cream of crab soup!). We went to celebrate my mom's birthday, and they rounded out the experience for her with a FANTASTIC slice of multi-layered chocolate mousse cake with "Happy Birthday" artfully written on the rim of the plate in chocolate sauce! What a great experience...can't wait to return!"

  • "We arrived early and they were kindly able to graciously accomodate us. This beautiful historic property on Church Street Circle in the historic city section of downtown Annapolis is a gem and I highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike. We dined here before enjoying a play at the nearby colonial theater, and the restaurant was within convenient walking distance. We will definitely be dining at Reynolds Tavern again, and I would like to try their Tea menu next time!"

  • "This restaurant is centrally located near downtown Annapolis. It comes with a historic background and is decorated in a colonial Williamsburg style. Their menu contains something for everyone's palate. Our waitress was very attentive and our food was hot and tasty when delivered to our table."

  • "I've been here many times - the tea service is always terrific. Salad for lunch was good too. Quaint and authentic decor-feels like you've stepped back in time. Was a bit chilly though- wish they had the fireplace going- not sure if they ever do."

  • "I have been to Reynolds Tavern and the dining experience has been wonderful however my recent visit was disappointing because of the wait staff. Food and atmosphere was wonderful but the poor wait staff ruined the whole dining experience. Our waittress was not welcoming, she did not share the specials of the day, we had to ask if she would take orders for drinks and then had to ask what the desserts were being offered. Very disappointing."

  • "We made reservations for Reynolds on New Year's Eve. We had a great location in the state circle and Reynolds was another great historical location to check out. There were groups there but it wasn't busy; but didn't need to make a reservation. The building was great, if your a history fanatic such as myself. The 5 course meal sounded elegant, but most of the food lacked a distinctive and delicious taste. It wasn't bad, but didn't live up to the wonderful atmosphere we were in."

  • "The New Year's Eve menu was very good and we had a great time. I loved the teacake sampler!"

  • "The highlight here is tea and we went for the top with the high tea--cream of crab soup to start (very creamy) after which the tower of power comes to the table with tiers of scones, finger sandwiches and little pastries. The scones are good and flaky, there are varieties to choose from, the sandwiches standard. Selection of teas is somewhat daunting but Earl Grey with jasmine hit the spot. The whole experience, in an old tavern on Church Circle in historic Annapolis, is a must-do, even if it was so crowded that day that there were long gaps in service."

  • "We have always had a wonderful experience at Reynolds Tavern. This is an Annapolis gem. Historic setting, great menu, and attentive service. Very nice for out of town guests! I love the Shepherd's pie- real comfort food."

  • "This place is a hidden treasure away from the harbor on Church Circle, quiet, good food, great old tavern atmosphere... you can almost see George Washington at the next table.... the 1747 Pub downstairs is a great place to wait for your table as well."

  • "We dined for lunch and then had tea and dessert at the Reynolds Tavern. Our waitress, Morgan, was wonderful as she diligently and pleasantly served us. The food was delicious, the ambience was pleasantly appealing while very relaxing, and the owner's interaction added to the feeling of belonging here."

  • "Celebrating our anniversary we were so happy with the attentive waiter who always seemed to know when you wanted him and was never intrusive. We enjoyed a cream of Broccoli soup, more complete than the usual style we expected, and so very good. The rock-fish is a regular on the menu for good reason and the Filet special was cooked perfectly, perfectly balanced with the bacon and Gorgonzola. The meals that passed on their way to other tables looked so good we are anxious to return."

  • "This was a special occasion and your restaurant made it even better. The service was great. food was great except for the Crab Soup is was a little thin and had a twain to it other than that everything was good. We will visit again would recommend to friends. the waiter was very helpful and most gracious."

  • "I gave my parents a gift card to Reynold's Tavern. They had never been there before as long as we have been residents in the Annapolis area. They love historical buildings and I thought this would be the perfect holiday gift. They loved the food, the atmosphere, and the service! They hope to go back again and use the rest of their gift card in the pub! Thank you for your great service!"

  • "One wouldn't expect an historic tavern to offer a genteel afternoon tea, but Reynolds not only offers one, but excels at it. From the wide selection of teas, to the flaky, warm scones, the great variety of tea sandwiches and savories, to the desserts so numerous I have to take them home because I just can't eat another luscious bite. This is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours with a few good friends. I will definitely be going back!"

  • "Had brunch here with some friends. They had quiches, which they said were very good. Wife had soup and salad and I had a chicken sandwich. Everything was very tasty. Family at the table next to us had the high tea which looked really good. Have to try that next time. Did not visit the bar but the restaurant is in a historic house on Church Circle (250+ years old). Very cool. Will be back."

  • "I love the ambiance and menu from Reynolds. The food was cold. It was prepared ahead of time and sat there for awhile. I do not send food back; I did not complain to the server. The other systemic thing I find with Reynolds is that if you have 2 people for dinner and an empty to one table filled front room; the servers offer you the tiny round tables by the windows. I would understand offering them when in a full house, but all the times I went to Reynolds Tavern for dinner or tea with a friend I get the same tiny table when the restaurant has plenty of 4 chairs tables and NOT one guest arrives there with enough people to fill all the tables. I have to ask the server to change tables after I take a good inventory of how full the place is."

  • "We were seated at our stated reservation time, but we waited 45 minutes before receiving any food. We were a party of 12, so a bit of a wait is understandable, but 45 minutes seemed excessive. No one really came to check on us during our wait."

  • "We hadn't been to Reynolds Tavern in over 5 years and we wonderfully pleased with the experience! They are under new management and the owners were delightful! The dinner was excellent!!! We had a party of eight people after the Navy football game and the owners made the service work, even for a couple of stragglers. It was a great experience and we highly recommend it! enjoy!"

  • "An old and historical tavern with lots of artifacts on display, I lived looking at all those items. The food was good especially the chocolate dessert. The waitress spoke too low so we had to get her to repeat everything twice but she was attentive. I would recommend it to family and friends."

  • "Reynolds Tavern was a historical gem and wonderful food in historic Annapolis. The pub in the cellar was a great place to go for an after dinner drink."
