Bottles of wine from small, regional wineries are uncorked to complement the dishes, which have been crafted in the custom of Italy's chefs, bakers and homemakers. Il Fornaio means "the Baker" in Italian. This award-winning restaurant offers an authentic and unique Italian dining experience. Specialties include wood-fired rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game; house made pastas; pizzas from an oak wood burning oven; fresh salads and house made soups; a wide variety of desserts; and fresh baked bread made daily from scratch.

    My husband ordered a 9-oz glass of wine, was given a 6-oz glass of wine, but was charged for the 9-oz glass. We realized the pour was small (same as my 6 oz pour) as soon as the waitress left. It was a bustling Friday night, and we didn't see our waitress for a while. We figured if we said he got a 6-oz pour, she may think we're trying to get the 9-oz for the 6-oz price, so we just ate the $7 price difference.

    Beautiful view of the San Diego Harbor! We always have excellent service and food, our server was friendly and accomodating. Sat outside on the patio, it was a bit windy on this sunny Easter Sunday and cool. We've been here several times and have enjoyed their pizza, entrees and delicious salads. Recommend making reservations. Thank you!
