   The changes they have made recently are disappointing. We had scheduled a celebratory brunch a few months in advance and when we arrived we found out that they were no longer serving brunch. Would have appreciated a heads up! The servers were great, but the food and new vibe just isn’t the same. Won’t be back.

   Made my reservation a couple of months ago because I had family coming into town. Didn't realize until it was too late that you had a new name and ownership. At that point I was unable to find another restaurant that could take my family at such a late date. I wish I had known and would have still cancelled especially, after looking at the new menu. I was getting updates from Western Proper, the original one, and it wasn't until the day before I was getting two text messages, one from Western Proper and one from The House of Western. I called and the girl explained it to me. We were very upset at the new menu when we arrived and also were not put in the back room like we were use to which was more quiet. The music was way to loud where we had to shout to talk. Food was not good and they forgot my order as well as a couple of other things. The only good thing about our experience was the poor waitress trying to resolve issues! We have gone to Western Proper many times and celebrated birthdays there but, will not return and will not recommend to anyone in the future. Just so you know this is the first time I have ever given a restaurant a bad review.

   We had friends visiting from out of town and I raved about western proper. I even sent them the menu from the website. They knew what they wanted when we arrived, only to be told that brunch was no longer available as they are changing menus. Okay, let’s transition to a lunch menu….but we’d still like coffee, but they were out of creamer, so we asked if there was anything else they may be out of, no. Until we ordered the breakfast pizza, yep, they were out of that. The food was less than flavorful and I just wish they would have been upfront with those who made a reservation at 11am on Sunday that the brunch menu listed on the website would not be available, so we could’ve made a choice to keep our reservation or not. My normal 5 stars on one of my favorite brunch spots in Boise wouldn’t be getting 2 stars. Communication is key.

   I’ve never been here before, I planned a birthday brunch with my friends. Their website says they serve brunch and they did not. The service was very slow and the food was mediocre for the descriptions they have. I probably won’t be back because i went for the experience and it was not what i expected.

   This venue is too noisy for us old folks. I didn’t experience the noise level as “lively; I found it overwhelming. We had to shout at each other to be heard above the din. Food was unimaginative and way overpriced. My steak was good and I loved the fries and fry sauce but $33? My friend was horrified to find her pricey burger had American cheese on it. Special drinks were outrageously expensive at $15 per drink. Desserts were boring and not worth it. Four of us agreed that we will not be going back.

   We were a big party in the dining room and enjoyed ourselves so much. It’s a beautiful space, the food was delicious and the service was flawless. Thank you Chandler for a great experience!

    The atmosphere is great the service was all great. The alcohol is way over priced, so much that unless it’s happy hour we would not go back. Which is too bad cause the drinks were good. Foos was good, not fancy, but fine for what it was.
