Afternoon tea is a British tradition focused on creating a space to share a social experience. Tea, scones, and finger foods are placed at the center of the table to facilitate discussion. From the quintessential cucumber sandwich to signature desserts like our tea-infused shortbread, there is certain to be something for you!

Owner Jackie James is a British expat who wanted to recreate the experience of a true tea room that you would find in London. Doilies and frills are out: we married our a vintage English vibe with St. Louis's famed 19th century brick architecture to create an atmosphere that welcomes everyone for any occasion.

Located in the historic Hupmobile Building just one block away from CITYPARK Stadium, we are within walking distance of Union Station, the City Museum, and the Garment District. Parking is available in the garage at 1950 Olive St., or you can park on any of the surrounding streets.

Our high tea was fantastic. Our server, Maurgan was attentive. We are sad to see the tea room close. Thank you for exceptional cuisine and memories, including Prince Charles’ coronation viewing party.

I love coming to The London Tea Room for afternoon tea. The room is always lovely and the service is amazing. I fell in love with the beautiful purple china plate and cup I had this time around. The afternoon tea was delicious. I always have a wonderful time there.
