   The food was marvelous but the noise from all the talkers was not good for me with a hearing aid. The wine list was extensive, expensive but very good

   Food was excellent as always. We were a party of 5. I was disappointed that our waiter (who complained about the number of tables he had to serve) was grouchy and not able to fulfill some of our requests. It was my birthday and this year there were no "happy birthdays" on the table; did you decide not to do that anymore? I asked for a champagne cocktail with extra bitters. It was exactly the same color as a friend's who did not want extra bitters. Then someone took it away and I saw that it sat beside a plastic dirty-dish container for a long while until I asked again. It came back just slightly pinker and I gave up on asking for more bitters. We had wanted the "Bites" and "Appetizers" to arrive with our drinks but they came much later. The dessert that another friend and I shared came with two plates (which was good) but no knife to cut it. I managed with a fork rather than bother the waiter any further. Clearly the waiter was harried but it made my birthday occasion significantly less delightful than I've come to expect from Rivoli. The noise level has never been an issue before but it was on Sunday night (3/8/20, 7 pm reservation) . None of this will stop me returning - just saying it wasn't up to your usual standards.    The place is beautiful, the wait staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Can't do any better than Rivoli!

   Best neighborhood restaurant in a town full of good ones. The duck two ways and lobster risotto might be their peak dishes ever. Friendly folks, great dining.

    Rivoli is our place to go on special occasions. (It's too expensive to go there all the time, or we would.) Their food and beverages are always delicious and fresh, fresh, fresh. Don't miss the mushroom fritters appetizer and don't skip dessert. Even the bread and butter is delectable. The service is exquisite--friendly and discreet.
