  • "The food was very good, with acceptable service. My only complaint is that on arrival they attempted to seat us in the lounge. In my opinion, if a couple decide to make reservations in advance I would suggest that it is not the lounge we prefer to be. Lounge seating is usually for the lunch crowd who do not have reservations who want to drink with their meals. We were able to be seated in the resturant after I advised that I would not accept seating in the bar area."

  • "You'd think that by now this restaurant would be able to get lunch diners in and out in less than an hour, but this is not the case. Plan for a minimum of 1.5 hours. Service is slow and while my food was good, the others in my group said theirs was mediocre."

I was apart of a group of 5 and we were the only ones in the restaurant, drinks took 20 minutes to arrive, server wasn't prepped on daily features, and she wasn't familiar with presenting wine. All in all for a 400$ bill, it did not meet my expectations and I will never go back."

  • "Had the pan roased salmon with a side of green salad. Salmon was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside - personally I found it overcooked since I like my salmon a bit rare in the center. My salad was drenched in oil - next time I will definitely have to order the dressing on the side. The salad was very plan, literally just mixed greens and garnished with shredded carrots."

  • "Booked through the Big Taste website - saw the set meal and was expecting this meal when I took a date. Unfortunately, the restaurant tried to deny any responsibility and said Open table did not let them know it was Dine out (even though my reservation said just to let the restaurant know when I arrived). Waiter said we did not specify in our reservation? So they switched our waiter, told us the regular menu was good - manager advised. I did not want to make a scene since I was on a date, but I was a little frustrated with this kind of response. Ended up getting an appetizer to split and an entree each, couple glasses of wine - wine was comped which was nice. Still disappointed did not get my three course meal - a little deceptive."

  • "I ordered the Steak Frites and i must say my steak looked like is sat for some time and my fresh cut fries were either over cooked or also sat too long as they were hard. Two of the other girls with me ordered sandwiches and they complained that their buns were dry. Usually RW does a great job, I was there at the end of December and the service/food was great, not sure what was going on this day. Will i give it another try? Yes, but not for some time."

  • "I've actually never written a review before about a restaurant. I'm not overly picky, and I don't 'demand the best!' when it comes to food or service. That said I have NEVER been as disappointed at a restaurant than earlier this week at Redwater. My boss was in from out of town. Took 10 minutes for server to even arrive, and it was 55 minutes before we had our first drink in hand. Bread was frozen solid in the middle. Server says "It's not frozen, is it?"... had this problem before I see. Appetizers were brutal as well. Braised squid was AWFUL and the '$11 for 3 chicken tacos' were tasteless and bland. Dry shell with head of lettuce and a thimbleful of 'chicken' (looked more like chicken jerky' ) per taco. WORST DINNER EVER. No joke."

  • "The food was a huge disappointment compared to the many rave reviews I have heard about this restaurant - we had steak and salmon both were very flavorful and cooked exactly how we wanted however the side dishes (mash potato & macaroni and cheese) had no flavor or seasoning at all. Our server was very good and the managers presence was very eminent as he even stopped by our table to see how everything was - I always appreciate this. I will likely not return to this restaurant to eat anytime soon as I feel the prices we paid for the meal were far to high for the quality we received. The wine selection is top notch, and I would definitely return on the basis that it was for drinking purposes only."

  • "The service was very slow and incomplete. We found a hair in the butter for the bread which to me is unacceptable. It is a deal breaker for my girlfriend. I had to convince her not to get up and leave. It took a while before the server came around. We both ordered steak and it was very good. We ordered espresso's to end our meal and when they came they did not have sugar or spoons on the table and once again took forever to come around. The restaurant was not overly busy at the time we were there. I would try this restaurant at a different location, but downtown was disappointing. They did comp our drinks because of the hair so that was good of them."

Like chicken, it has to be cooked. They did comp his entree, but he had to deal with being ill the next day in exchange."

  • "I hadn't realized that this placed closed at 10. We came in at 9:20 and sat there for a good 15 minutes before anyone came and helped us. We were then told that it was last call so we could only get one drink. We had originally wanted to sit and have a good dinner but we were rushed and when our food came my boyfriends steak wasn't cooked properly. We probably saw a server twice while we were there. Maybe it would have been better if they hadnt of been closing right away"

  • "Booked through "Open Table"online & asked for a private spot for 6 people to celebrate a few b-days. Great ambiance...had a TV channel playing "The Frame - gorgeous pictures of landscapes/cars etc...added to the experience. Our server was wonderful and attentive. Food was really good; steak done perfect but the roasted carrots were a little salty..this from someone who doesn't add salt to her food...experience was excellent overall!! Even got a glass of complimentary champagne for each guest - 3 of the 6 of us were celebrating birthdays...nice perk! My only complaint would be it was super hot in the room - thermostat read +25, pretty toasty. Server couldn't rectify it after asking but still.... would definitely go back! ****4.5 stars!!! :)"

  • "We dined at the Bow Valley Redwater Grille on February 1st. Everything was excellent, Lobster tacos are unique and tasty. My wife had the ahi Tuna special and I had the rib-eye. We both feel that's as good a restauarant meal as we've had in months."
