Last Best Brewing & Distilling opened its doors in May 2015. The name Last Best draws from Calgary’s eclectic history. At the end of the 1800s, the Canadian government launched a campaign called ‘The Last Best West’; it’s purpose was to populate the western prairies and grow agriculture in Canada.

The administration believed that this area was the Last Best chance in the modern world for homesteaders to lay roots and shape their futures. The accomplishments resulting from the Last Best initiative have paved the way for the budding craft beer and distilling industries here in Alberta.

Last Best Brewing & Distilling honours this historical spirit through its name and unwavering commitment to making delicious well-crafted beer, spirits and Alberta-inspired cuisine.

Last Best IPA is a well-balanced brew that accompanied a delicious pepperoni pizza (with jalapeno peppers and honey) - all served by an attentive and personable server. All this in an authentic English style pub!

Such a great all day happy hour on Sunday. We sat at the bar and Phil provided great service. 10/10!!

Both bartenders who served us were really efficient, friendly and helpful. Good beer. Shared the pepperoni pizza (good but crust a wee bit burned in parts) salt and pepper wings (good) and fried brussel sprouts (good but I still prefer the way they used to do them with the whipped cheese). Overall enjoy this place.

Always a great experience. Tried the smash burger again, as it has been a while, and it was AMAZING! We had Minye again as our server and she is exceptional.
