Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here. A notch above the competition. Our waitress was a bit surly but it didn't matter.

inventive and well prepared and presented food was overshadowed by truly inept service. The waitstaff didn't fully understand the menu and didn't listen carefully to what was ordered.

I wanted to give a new place a shot so we tried Kozu. The place was dead empty on a Saturday night, which should have been our first clue. We ordered a salad and a rainbow roll for appetizers. The salad wasn't bad, but the rainbow roll (for $20!!) was just ok. There was nothing notable or even good about it. It was less appealing or tasty than any rainbow roll we've ever had. And next, maybe we just weren't ordering right but what we ordered was supposed to be an entree. They definitely had an entree price, but they were each barely the size of an appetizer. Drinks were way over priced as was the food for what you get. Maybe it was all about being in Southampton? I don't know but it was absolutely not worth what we paid. I would never reccommend Kozu to anyone I know, and we won't be giving it a second chance for sure.

First Japanese restaurant I have been to where they delivered all of our courses at the same time. We ordered what in a proper Japanese restaurant would have been delivered as 3 or 4 courses. They had run out of several things we asked for and also did not have the first bottle of wine we requested. Staff were quite nice. i know it's the Hamptons, but prices seemed a bit steep compared to NYC.

The music was FAR too loud - felt like eating in a nightclub. Food was fine but not good enough for the hefty price tag.

The Friday night experience was a delight. We arrived @ 9:30 PM, and we were treated as if we were the only guests there. Food was great with fair portions.

Over-rated, over-priced and over-staffed who are inexperienced and confused. Servers brought everything at once, starters, appetizers, first course, second course, including decreases, drinks, water and wine. Asked for espresso and came he it flat and cold, likely American drip coffee in a Demi-tase cup. Inconvient valet parking. Do not recommend.
