  • "We went based on a recommendation from my brother. Very different than a typical BBQ joint. The whiskey selection is off the chart. The food is very good with a wide variety of choices. Four different sauces that are brought to you. The pickles and chips before the meal are incredible! I recommend the watermelon salad as a side dish. Great meal"

  • "The restaurant is upscale and classy, but the BBQ is down home and perfect. All of the meat is amazingly tender, perfectly smoked, and bursting with flavor. I never needed BBQ sauce; the smoke and dry rubs were enough! The restaurant also has a large and well-stocked bar, and amazing desserts. I couldn't recommend Chicago q more!"

  • "We had a reservation for Saturday night and had to wait a bit, but not too bad. We ordered food and drinks at the same time and the food came within 5 minutes, before my glass of wine arrived. It felt a little too fast. For a special night it seemed like we were being rushed out the door a bit. It was also VERY loud. We loved the food and the sauces, though and I would go back. I just wouldn't expect it to be a special date place, necessarily."

  • "The outside of the building is deceiving to the southern flair that awaits you once you are inside. The building is 4x the size it appears to be from the outside. The food and service was very good. I got the platter and my favorite of the meats was the pulled chicken. I cleared the platter to my discomfort. They have a brunch on Sunday but my better senses say to stay way or prepare to experience more discomfort."

  • "Best BBQ around. The pickles and potato chips are perfect starters for the meal. The brunch menu was great – we enjoyed our sides of baked beans and a carrot cake pancake along with the baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwich. The ribs and pork were to die for – super tender and full of flavor. Our server Vickie was wonderful. She recommended the carrot cake and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend Chicago q!"

  • "We had a group of 6 and all really liked all of our food - kobe beef brisket melts in your mouth, the mac & cheese was delicious, the sweet tea was perfect, and the cornbread was great. However there was a continuous push from the wait and server staff to take plates/silverware away as we were eating, and it felt clear that they were rushing us. Not fun, and really awkward at points. I had literally put my fork down on my plate, when a server hustled over and snagged my plate AS he asked if I was finished. Didn't wait to hear a yes or a no from me. I know its good business to turn tables over on a Saturday night, but not at the expense of your diners' experience. So I won't be back, despite the great food."

  • "My husband and I went here for his birthday and it was great! So much delicious food, starting with the free chips and pickles! We almost got too full on those before we even ordered! They also took care of us for his birthday, as I had mentioned it in the Open Table reservation, and they brought out the cookies and milk platter free of charge. We'll definitely go back again. (Did I forget to mention the BBQ? I think it speaks for itself.)"

  • "By 6:30 on a Saturday night, the restaurant was hopping. It's a casual and noisy place, teeming with people in their 20s and 30s. Our foursome ranged in age from 40-60. We lived in Texas for many years, so we were excited to try Q. The service was fine, but the food was generally disappointing. The high point was the fried green tomatoes: everyone agreed they were very good. The brisket platter was dry, bald, and served in an unappealing manner. The brisket sandwich looked better, but if it's the same meat (and I think it is), prepare to be disappointed. The BBQ cobb salad was awful. Awful enough that one of us had to do a napkin capture on a bad piece of chicken (maybe it was an eyeball??). We won't return."

  • "Loved it! The food was so good! There were four of us so we got a little bit of everything, and nobody was disappointed. The hushpuppies and fried green tomatoes appetizers were delicious. Between the four dinners we got the brisket, pulled pork, baby back ribs, and pulled chicken and there were no complaints. The coleslaw was awesome. The mac and cheese was great. Poblano cheddar corn bread was very moist. We boxed up a good portion of dinner so we had room to try their desserts. I loved the strawberry infused cheesecake! YUM! Very soft texture, great strawberry flavor. Others in my group loved the carrot cake. The espresso ice cream was tasty, but huge! A must-share! We will definitely go back! The service was amazing too!"

  • "took several friends here last week with discriminating palates. we all ordered whiskey flights, apps and dinner. st louis ribs were succulent, pulled pork mouth watering, most moist and flavorful brisket ever. crab cake apps had no filler fantastic flavor. hush puppies......yum! single and small batch whiskey flights for everyone.   • "Before you go, just get mentally prepared for a lot of meaty meats. This is one of my favorite bbq spots in Chicago, and it's pretty reasonably priced, too. Just - it's a lot of meat. Which is awesome. Of course, I can't write this review and leave out their sides. Starts out with free homemade bbq chips and sweet pickles. They're pretty great. Coleslaw and corn bread there are really awesome too. I hate too-creamy coleslaw that just drips off your fork, but these guys do it right. Really crisp, not over-flavored. We had a group of 5 originally reserved, and had to change it to 7 right at the last minute, but these guys were very nice, very accommodating. It does get quite loud during weekend dinner, but not rowdy."

With the menus you receive their delicious, home made bread and butter pickles and bowl of freshly cooked potato chips. This visit I had a pulled pork sandwich that was incredibly moist, , tender and flavorful. The hush puppies and sauce was very good as well. Loved the roasted Brussel Sprouts, excellent coleslaw too. Past visits found me enjoying their ribs and beef brisket, both top notch."

  • "The ambiance was a little upscale for a BBQ restaurant, but the BBQ was really tasty. Big portions. Pulled pork was tender and all 4 sauces (vinegar, mustard, spicy, milk) were so good, I wanted to bring home bottles of them! We shared the alligator for an appetizer and I thought it was kind of tough and the blackened flavor was overpowering. Other than that, the drinks were great, mac and cheese was crunchy and rich. I am already craving it just writing this review. We will definitely return."
