Purple Café and Wine Bar pairs a global wine selection with a menu that combines classic American styles with seasonal Northwest ingredients.

We feature an expansive menu ranging from artisan cheeses, starters, soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas to pasta and seafood. We take a great deal of pride in utilizing the most fresh and local ingredients.

On the wine side of things our wine list features over 80 glass and 600 bottle selections. Over the years our wine program has been recognized with various accolades that include an "Award of Ultimate Distinction" from Wine Enthusiast Magazine and being named "Best Wine Bar" by Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington Viewers Poll.

    We sat at the bar for lunch. The bar tender was very nice and attentive. The clam chowder was delicious.

    They need more servers; they were nice but too busy so we had waits. Food was overall very good if not great. We did love the fresh beet salad though! Dessert ( donuts) was bad. I would go again because I love the atmosphere and the appetizers and salads! A little pricey but not crazy.

    I've been dining at Purple in Downtown Seattle off and on for the last 10 years. Your Stuffed Dates remain the best of any Seattle restaurant, and I'm so glad you haven't shuffled them off your menu or changed the recipe. The Beets and Goat Cheese Salad was tasty and elegant. But the Brie appetizer was stingy on the cheese and apricot/nut topping; in fact, it was mostly Phyllo Pastry. Beverages were satisfactory. But my dinner companion's and my chief irritant was the waiter, who initially was very brusque, unfriendly, and seemingly in a hurry to rush us through our meal. We had intended to share appetizers and then order a pasta entreé, but instead closed our ticket and walked across the street to a competing restaurant to order a late dinner with drinks. Downtown Seattle doesn't have as many fine-dining choices as it did pre-Pandemic...which means less competition for those restaurants that survived. Still, you have an obligation to Do Better.

    This was our second visit to the purple café when visiting Seattle and it did not disappoint. We had two servers who were very attentive. The ambience is very nice and they have a huge selection of wine. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meal.

    Wine bar, check. 50 page wine list, check. Mediocre food, check. We'll keep looking.... One more thing, why, when you make a reservation, do places stick you in front of the kitchen, or outside the restrooms, or here, where we were seated next to the cutlery and water station, plenty of traffic, I'll tell you. Walk up patrons should get the crappy tables, in my opinion......

    Purple is the perfect place for dinner prior to any event at Benaroya. The food is excellent, the service is superb----it's all around wonderful.

    Great food and wine experience. Huge selection of wine - and by huge I mean a 30-foot tower of wine in the center of the restaurant - and very educated staff. You'll get a book of wine to study and help inform your choices, with several wines you may not have heard of before. The menu has an inclusive variety of choices, with a suggested wine pairing for each. The service was great, nice atmosphere.

    Great spot for lunch or dinner. Everything was delicious. Recommend lamb skewers, baked Brie, goat cheese and beets, tomato soup.
