Manager checked on us which is always a plus and the ambience was romantic and would be great for a girls night also. Definitely recommend and look forward to going back with my whole family.   • "WE specifically went for the heavily advertised Sunday lobster special We have been to the restaurant before and was anxious to go back. The ambiance is of course the same but the service and treatment is not. Although the dinner was good we were instructed when we sat down that THERE WOULD BE NO SUBSTITUTIONS OF ANY KIND YOU COULD NOT GET YOUR SALAD WITHOUT DRESSING AND IF THERE WERE ANY ALLERGIES DON'T ORDER THE SPECIAL. This made us feel a little like second hand citizens. Since it is still an expensive evening it left A BAD TASTE IN OUR THOUGHTS."

  • "We specifically chose this restaurant to celebrate my daughter's HS graduation (family of 6) becuase they advertised outdoor dining. When we arrived for our reservation, the outdoor dining was our one table in the front of the restaurant on the street! After waiting an endless amount of time, our waitress finally came outside to ask it we got our salads. When we told her we hadn't, they finally arrived. When we got our main course, four out of six meals arrived cold (not just luke warm, but COLD). They were taken back to be heated, but with attitude. After that, our waitress never came out while we were eating to see if we needed anything or if everything was ok Needless to say, we went elsewhere for dessert."

  • "This was my third visit for the restaurants Sunday night 2lb steamed lobster special. The first time it was very good. The second time not quite so since the sides which were advertised as a starch and seasonal vegetable were potatoes and corn-in my opinion, those are 2 starches. This last vist was our last time, and I have called my friends and family with this advice- don't go for the lobster special. It's hard to ruin a steamed lobster, but this restaurant succeeded-rubbery & dry! They must steam, split and hold in a warm oven to create that rubberized texture. And the same 2 starchy sides-no substitutions allowed-potatoes & corn. Sorry, but I can't recommend."

  • "Returned two weeks after a very noisy experience in one of their main dining rooms. This time we were seated at a "high" table in the bar area, and the noise level was MUCH lower. The tables are smaller in that area, not really roomy enough for the large plates and lobsters, but it was so much more pleasant having a conversation with less noise around us. Porto Vivo offers a two-pound lobster dinner for $29 on Sunday nights, and it's a great deal! My friend had the salad, and I tried the tomato bisque, which was outstanding. We'll be back soon!"

  • "Disappointed. Haven't been in while and enjoyed other times, although not been since last year. Food is on the pricier side which we don't mind if outstanding. That flavors were decent, but certainly not outstanding. The skirt steak which was recommended by the waiter (I was also considering the veal Milanese) was tasty, but fairly chewy. My wife had the seared tuna and it was also acceptable, but not outstanding. The restaurant was half empty at 7:30 on a Saturday and we set our reservation the day before. Not great signs for a restaurant in Huntington Village. I hope it was a fluke instance and not the norm and wish Porto Vivo all the best. Not sure when or if we'll return."

  • "There are many restaurants in the Huntington area and this was our first visit to Porto Vivo, and our last! The food was terrible! The worst caesar salad Ive ever had! The bread basket came to the table with a small carafe of olive oil which had zero taste, my husband ordered the lobster ravioli which had no lobster in it! And it was drowned in butter! I ordered the veal milanese which was ok but it was covered in a slimy arugula salad! We will not be going back anytime soon!"

Always a perfect spot to come celebrate special days. I loved that you could make reservations and it was not your typical wait for 1hr for a table type place. We were seated right away and never rushed out of the restsurant. It was a perfect day. "

  • "After waiting a really long time after having finished our meal, the waiter grabbed a that was nearly full (we intended to take it home because we'd filled up too much on the delicious antipasto platter) and slopped the other dirty plates in it before we could say anything. He should have asked if we wanted to take that home -- hello! Earlier in the evening he had also slopped my wine down on the table with the delicacy of a pig -- I'm lucky I didn't wind up wearing it. I had so been looking forward to the evening; we left really disappointed and put off; skipped dessert and I'm still depressed thinking of the delicious meal that got thrown out thanks to a sloppy and inattentive waiter. Had such great experiences at Porto Vivo in the past."

  • "I was actually quite disappointed. I found out after I left the restaurant that it was restaurant week and Porto Vivo was apparently participating. I then found out this was only if you dined early, before six I believe. No one ever informed us of this, and our reservation was booked at six. If we knew of any cut-off we could have made the reservation an hour earlier. Regardless, we actually arrived at 5:45, and we weren't offered any restaurant week special. Meal for four cost $276 after a $60 gift certificate we had. Very disappointed in what appeared to be a very real circumvention of a special offer. "

  • "We went to Porti Vivo because it was recommended on Yelp. It definitely did not disappoint. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us decide what to order....everything sounded delicious! And everything we ended up ordering definitely didn't disappoint. It ended up being a great date night for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere was romantic at our corner table, and the bar had a pretty good band playing some of my husband's favorite songs towards the end of dinner. We had a great night!"

  • "They put us in a portion of the restaurant of to the side next to a loud group of woman celebrating a birthday.We were so close to this table of woman we were nearly part of their loud drunken party.I was expecting a nice night out with some friends and ended up having dinner in a loud party. Even the waiter was upset with our situation. Food and talking very loud over others was a best description of the night. If you go there make sure the table is your chose not the chose of the young rather clueless hostesses. So I guess in my experience this is a good place for a loud party but not for a relaxing meal with old friends. Its too bad because the food was rather good. Not sure if I will return."

  • "We had my daughters 27th birthday dinner here. My husband and I have been a few times, and always enjoyed it. We brought my in-laws and they loved it. The beet salad was delicious. Some had the halibut and said was so tasty. My daughter orders gnocchi where ever she goes, and said this was one of the best! The lobster ravioli was excellent. All the portions are just right. We all agreed it was a wonderful dinner!"

  • "I had the skirt steak special, which was great and my friend had the veal Milanese which was good. We also had the arugula salad (enough for 2 and excellent) and the calamari appetizer, both excellent. For dessert, she had the tiramisu (ok) and I had the creme brulee (good). The total bill was $198 (which included two wines each and an after dinner drink). Service was excellent."

  • "We've been here plenty of times, and always have a great meal....except this time. We enjoyed our appetizers of calamari and a baby spinach salad and were waiting for a tuna tartar for one of our other guests. I had to ask the waitress where it was. Apparently, she forgot it. By the time we were done with ours, his came out. I decided to order the Porchetta off of the specials menu. It was so fatty, it was inedible, and the outside layer of pancetta was so hard that I literally could not cut it with my knife. It was as hard as plastic and was quite possibly the worst thing I've ever been served. I did eat the brussel sprouts that came with it, they were delicious. My other guests each enjoyed their meals of gnocci, tortelloni and halibut."

  • "I loved the atmosphere! The restaurant's interior is stunning. It's comfortable, quiet, and great for a date or large groups. The menu offers unique variety. There's plenty to choose from! I enjoyed the fresh mozzarella as well as the fresh gnocchi. For dessert, the tiramisu with fresh cream was delightful."
