Diner Reviews
  • "I have been here before and will again, but this time I found something lacking here. Not sure if it was the rain outside that dampened spirits inside :) My Salmon roast was awesome, the Veg Kabob my wife had was definitely insipid and not worth the price you pay. Chicken Torsh was standard with nothing worth mentioning about. The chocolate cake and the pomo icecream were very good. The biggest ingredient though in the experience is the service and I found that a notch or two down from the previous experience. The lady seemed to be in a rush and was seemingly impatient ... Never took time to explain the food or let us know what her favorites would be.....she came with an attitude !! I will think again if I have to spend my money here"

  • "The patio is the place to dine. It has heaters for cool evenings. Pomegranate Martinis are a must and absolutely delish. All dishes come with rice which is lovely and very well cooked. The hummus starters are very good. The main courses are somewhat alike - lamb kabobs, chicken kabobs, beef kabobs but all of these were good. One of us had salmon which was great. Another had a beef stew which was good but the beef was very tough. Lamb kabobs were the table favorite. Wine list is good. Service was excellent as was the entertainment on the patio. We are close neighbors and will definitely go again."

  • "We returned to Pomegranate and enjoyed a most relaxing and enjoyable dinner. Seated outside in our favorite spot (next to the water wall), the cuisine was perfect (lamb kabob), cocktail excellent (Pom Royale) and dessert just right to finish a perfect meal (pomegranate mint chocolate chip ice cream). We will certainly return to enjoy wonderful healthy food and a lovely ambiance"

  • "The food was good, if a little over priced. I dont think it will be a go-to stop for me, but I enjoyed it."

  • "This was at least our third trip to Pomengranate, and this time we brought friends from Michigan. They were well pleased with our choice of dining, and we were pleased again. We picked this restaurant for good food and a quiet atmosphere where we could visit. We found both."

  • "The Pomegranate on Main used to be a very enjoyable restaurant. That's changing sorry to say - in the wrong direction. Our last visit was our last visit - for good. The only thing we liked were the appetizers. Both entrees left a lot to be desired. What was most desired was "taste". Where did all the flavor go at Pomegranate? Both the chicken and the beef had no detectable flavor - either in the meat itself or in the marinade/sauce used for broiling. Obviously, cutbacks are going on now. Usually, the way you get around flavorless meat is to "dress it up" with saucing techniques, marinades, dry rubs, etc. In this case, even that didn't work. And the noise level was beyond intrusive!! A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!"

  • "Interesting Persian food. It is a unique restaurant for the Greenville Area. If you are looking for something different give it a try. The food was excellent."

  • "This was our first visit and we had a very good experience. Our server was most helpful explaining all the various dishes and the specials for the evening. The food was excellent. My wife loves eggplant and the Eggplant Stew (Bademjan) she had was the best she ever eaten. I had the Surf N Turf special of lamb chops and grilled shrimp that was excellent also. We had reservations and the restaurant did have a brisk flow of diners. During the warmer season part of the restaurant has open air seating."

  • "We dine here frequently but this was the first time we came on a weekday. There is definitely a noticeable difference between the weekday and weekend staff. They were visably understaffed for the amount of people dining there and seemed rushed."

  • "You won't find bland food here. If you enjoy dining and require a wide assortment of gluten-free options, this venue is a solid candidate. I have a couple of friends who struggle with evenings out and finding a restaurant that has a diverse gluten-free menu. At Pomegranate there is an extensive menu that's gluten-free and flavorful. I highly recommend this venue for all."

  • "All I could think about, was how perfectly seasoned the food was. Flavorful and juicy. It was a perfect portion size and I will be going back. Oh and the Pomegranate Martini is a must have!"

  • "Been wanting to go to this restaurant since I moved into Greenville about a year ago. It was a spur of the moment to celebrate my birthday, and so glad I did it. The food was delicious, the drinks were moderate but the experience was what made it. The server had asked what dessert I wanted and so I go the chocolate cake. The cake was SOO good! Moist and decadent, and since it was my birthday she brought out two cakes for the group to share. Would definitely recommend trying this restaurant. I would mentioned all the entrees I tried but there were 14 of us and neither one of us complained."

  • "This is a very nice, small restaurant serving Persian food. A bit noisy and service can be spotty but the food is very good. It's also a good choice for gluten free dining choices. I've been there at least half a dozen times for lunch and dinner and every meal has been very good."

  • "The food was pretty good, but the service was so so. I had been before and the service was better that time. I don't like the use of ipads at restaurants. You should not come by and drop and ipad at my table, with no explanation. Then at the end, when we ask about deserts, she again gives us the ipad? At a restaurant, you pay for service as much as food. And I don't want electronic devices at my table."

  • "I brought my sister for a much needed get out! We have always sat in the outdoor seating area. This visit inside and fabulous (we were probably annoying) we started leaving around 2:25 after our noon reservation...no one ever told us we had to leave or seemed bothered by us leaving after 2:30 lunch shut down. Food was great as always. Sister time was fabulous....enjoy every visit to Pomegranate!"

  • "A bit of a disappointment. Appetizer was great...kabob was dry/overcooked... Rice was the best part of the entree."
    Dined on 1/1/2014
  • "Pomegranate's menu is not extensive but has many interesting choices. The flavors are fresh and delicious - we both had salads with a spicy citrus dressing, my husband had the lamb shank and I selected the chicken stew. All were well prepared and satisfying. although the entree portions could have been a little larger. Service was not so good. The server came immediately to our table, and was very quick about bringing water and asking if we had questions. Unfortunately she continued to press for our order, and then the food came too quickly. She whisked our plates away and immediately brought the bill. We could have been in and out within 30 minutes if we hadn't chosen to linger over our wine. We mentioned it to the manager when we left."

  • "I learned a lot about Persian culture and cooking when I ate at Pomegranate. The food is authentic and is served with interesting condiments. I have been there for both lunch and dinner and found the food to be very good on both occasions. The grilled salmon is wonderful."

  • "We had not sampled Persian cuisine before. Our server provided all the info and tips we needed to have a wonderful experience. This spot has just the right balance of energy yet peace and quiet at individual tables to allow conversation. Food was outstanding- meat cuts lean and excellent; spices and sauces were creative and tasty. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. We will definitely return on our next visit to Greenville."

  • "First time for us to this restaurant. Very good meal. Started with hummus (2 kinds) and flat bread and cheese, butter and veggies. We had lamb and beef. The entrees were great. Never had Persian food before. They came with a rice that you seasoned yourself with a mix from the table. Excellent! Dessert was Persian tea. Fun experience! Definitely recommend."

  • "I haven't liked mediterranean food in the past but a friend suggested this so I went along. Was pleasantly surprised. The hummus was very good and kabobs I had were excellent. Place was nice, not over hyped, enough people in there so it was lively, but not packed and loud. Nice little bar. Service was good too. Would recommend it."

  • "Probably one of the best meals we have ever had here. If you see scallops on the menu, get them. I had scallops and lamb which was awesome. My wife had all scallops which she loved too. Don't let the restaurant concept fool you or turn you off. Its not much different then what you may be used to and it really is worth it."
