Plantation GardensBYOBThe food here is quite delicious, very fresh and healthy (except for the corn fritters) If you like bread with your meals BYOB (bring your own bread) because this restaurant HAS NO BREAD! You can't even buy bread - they don't have any bread. Unbelievable as it seems.
BTW I am in agreement that bread should not be AUTOMATICALLY placed on the table and then wasted if not eaten. I think bread should be available upon request. Perhaps it can even be an item on the menu, for a price. We are from San Francisco, we are very health conscious, eat out frequently and we are not at all overweight.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful island garden dining.Charming Pacific Rim restaurant with great views of their nice garden. Great service, food, island drinks, and a nice menu. Located in the Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation Resort across from the Poipu Shopping Center.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAmbiance is beautiful food was mehLocal fish was overlooked (which made us sad) and over salted.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Setting and FoodThis restaurant has a beautiful garden setting with that "old Hawaii" feeling. We were here for our anniversary and our meal from start to finish was delicious. We had the special (monchong) and fresh fish of the day (swordsbill). Service was great with good recommendations from our server. Prices are very reasonable for a high end restaurant. Try the cookie/ice cream trio dessert!5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem!Fund this place at short notice during our honeymoon. our server, Brad, was excellent and very affable, his knowledge of the menu was very very good. The food itself was totally gorgeous. I would definitely recommend this place.
Enjoyed watching the local heron, looking for fish in the pond next to where we were fishing !5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only place we goWe live on Kauai. When we go out, good food is important, but we also like to hear each other without screaming. Plantation Gardens has very good food, and is the only place we've found in Poipu that you can carry on a real conversation. There are other places with food that might be better (if you want "meat" instead of seafood or pork) but then you need to bring earplugs.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must-Do for Every Visit to KauaiWe have been dining at Plantation Gardens on every visit to Kauai since 1977. The specialness of this wonderful dining experience has never failed to amaze! Ambience, courteous service and delicious, healthy, fresh offerings have been consistently wonderful over the many years we've been privileged to visit. Thank you Plantation Gardens for the high bar you have set and sustained!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMOld World Hawaii - RelaxingOld World Hawaii restaurant - Indoor or outdoor porch seating. Very Fresh salads - Daly specials of seafood outstanding. Walk the garden path with a wide variety of Hawaiian plants and flowers - photo opportunities everywhere. No rush service makes this restaurant very relaxing and enjoyable.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe orchids in the gardenThe orchids in the garden are worth a trip to Kauai! This was by far the best meal and the most beautiful location of all during my two weeks on Kauai. Get a table on the lanai, have a mojito (better than any mojito I have had elsewhere, including all of Texas), and relax. It's a place that is difficult to leave, so take your time during your meal. You'll find yourself thinking about Plantation Gardens for a long time, with much aloha and nostalgia.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat use of locally grownGreat use of locally grown produce and fresh seafood.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting. LovelyBeautiful setting. Lovely separate areas for groups.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery restaurant in HawaiiEvery restaurant in Hawaii seems to be expensive, but I have to say that I found Plantation Gardens not over the top expensive and the food and setting are fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant. Cocktails were creative and delicious. Wine list had some affordable selections. We had the house wine which was respectable. The fish selections were very fresh, highly recommend the seafood wrapped in banana leaf. Excellent. We will definitely come back on our next visit to kauai.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting and greatBeautiful setting and great food. The hostess was welcoming and gave the ladies a flower. The pork tenderloin was delicious. The Lau Lau was pretty good-an example of Hawaiian cooking. The lavender pina colada was wonderful. Would return to eat here again.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely place for dinner.Lovely place for dinner. Good menu, but fish specials are truly special.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMRepeat visit did not disappointThis was our second visit to the Plantation Gardens and the experience was as good as the first, seven years ago. The menu hasn't changed substantially, holding true to distinctive island fare. We both had different versions of mahi mahi and both were excellent. Five stars on the food front. Four stars for drinks -- which seemed to be slightly off (could have been the ingredients or the mixer). Overall a great place to dine for couples or families.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMmy sister and i loved ourmy sister and i loved our dinner here. the food was fabulous, but our waiter, noah, made the night very special. he was attentive and delightful. the only negative thing was that the restaurant did not acknowledge to special note left with reservation that we were celebrating a 60th birthday. it would have been nice to have a small celebration along with our lovely time there. food, drinks, staff...all delightful.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting good quality foodInteresting good quality food which is fairly priced. House special panko crusted mahi mahi is excelent,1/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
