  • "We made reservations for 6, and two friends showed up unexpectedly - they never batted an eye! The place was very busy (Saturday night at peak), and the host graciously smiled and told me "we'll make it work..." Within 5 minutes we were being seated at a great table. The rest of the evening went very well - food, service, entertainment (Jack the violin player!) - it was all wonderful. Finally tried the pizza after going there for years - now we're hooked!"

  • "Mix up with OpenTable reservation and restaurant as they reserved our table in the bar-area. Resaurant said it was noted that we requested table in the bar, which was not the case. No other tables were available. Location didn't ruin the evening as food was outstanding; however, it would have been nice to have a dining room table."

  • "This was our second time at Pitrelli's in Mason. Their bartender makes the most amazing Vodka Gimlet. Sounds simple...but he takes it to a whole new level!! Restaurant & staff make you feel a part of the Family. Welcoming, gracious, prompt, attentive & FUN are just a few words that come to mind in explaining our dining experience. Ahhh, then the food & wine. Calamari appetizer is prepared perfectly with a light yet crispy panko exterior, deliciously tender & fresh texture. Antipasto plate is abundant and enough for several people. Veal & Prosciutto Tortellini in brown butter & sage wine sauce was delicate & light. Chicken parmesan was plentiful & prepared perfectly. Wine selections are well thought out for food offered on menu."

  • "We're from Louisville Kentucky but were in Mason, OH because we were staying at the Great Wolfe Lodge to celebrate my daughter's best friend's 10th birthday. We chose Pitrelli's because we searched for local Italian restaurants and it came up on that search. We loved the environment and ambiance immediately. The menu and wine choices were excellent as well. However the icing on the cake, was that Jack, the violinist, played happy birthday to her and then played another 5 Disney tunes and others that she would recognize. We have now returned every year and that is our girls get away tradition. Wonderful memories!!!"

  • "This was my second visit to Petrelli's. On both occassions I found the food to be very good and well worth the cost. On this visit we enjoyed the daily special and it was very good. The service was wonderful and I would reccommend this restaurant to everyone."

  • "Been there several times. Have always had reservations and been seated promptly. Menu is varied, service is prompt, prices are reasonable, and food is very good."

  • "Great food, just a bit slow. Although we had reservations, we still waited half an hour for our table. Nice touch with violinist."

  • "We had a reservation at 7, and seated when we arrived, which was the highlight of the evening Our table for two was next to the kitchen and a busy hallway, so we had concerns of people bumping into us After being seated it took ten minutes for our waiter to come to the table, because he was busing tables in his area We ordered wine, which he had to come back to ask what we wanted. The service went down hill from there To be fair, my wife ordered chicken simplacto which was outstanding I ordered lasagna, which was cold. After bringing it the waiter's attention, he re-heated it and brought it back. It was not as good as Stouffer's. The best part of the evening was the 93 year old violinist. He is worth the trip but don't expect a great meal"

  • "I had the mac and cheese with crab cakes, Friday's special. It was average. My friends did not say that the food was any better than average. Pitrelli's used to have great food. Lately, I have been disappointed. For example, 3 years ago I raved about the sausage and peppers. 2 months ago, it was just OK. The special that I had last Friday confirms that the kitchen has lost touch or is cutting costs. I am really sorry. However, the service and ambience is still great."

  • "I had been to this restaurant years ago, and was not very impressed. Several people told me to try it again, which I did. The food was delicious, service good, and loved the 95 year old violinist. I went with a group of people and we all walked out very satisfied and will come again soon!"

  • "If you like a place that prepares and cooks the food it serves instead of the bland chain food, Pitrellis is the place to go. The wine list is not extensive, but it is notable! They search for good to great reasonably priced wines and purchase as much as they can. Thusly, the list changes, but haven't had a bad one yet. The menu always features a special (or two), and the deserts are fabulous! It's not Rome, but it IS great food."

  • "Everything about this place was very good except for the food. I had the Lasagna Bolognese which was "mushy". My wife had the eggplant parmesan which was supposed to be sautéed but for whatever reason seemed to be deep fried to her. Other members of our party had porcini & truffle oil ravioli which was just "OK" and spaghetti with overdone meatballs. Most likely we will not return."

  • "We had a lovely birthday dinner for my husband at Pitrelli's Restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. I had the seafood ravioli and if you like seafood, it's delicious! The sauce is nice and light so you can taste the shrimp, scallops, and lobster inside. The gelato was perfect after such a filling meal. And, the violinist was phenomenal and we were very impressed and felt lucky he came to our table! What a treat! My mother-in-law actually bought us a gift card, so we will definitely be back!"

  • "Pitrelli's is our go to place for special occasions. On this occasion, our son was home from college and he really like Pitrelli's. We had a great family visit around the table and never felt rushed. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening."

  • "What a pleasure to find a cozy little neighborhood spot like Pitrelli's. The food was quite good but the service was warm and attentive, staff by bright and witty college kids. The old many that plays the violin from table to table is also a gem! We enjoyed the meal and the warm atmosphere very much and it was moderately priced which was a bonus!"

  • "My wife and I had heard many great things about Pitrelli's so I decided to give it a try for our Valentine's dinner. The calamari sticks were very good served with tartar sauce and marinara. The calzone may be the best calzone in the city served. The way it came out of the kitchen, it looked as if you could take pictures of it and publish it as a calzone centerfold. If you are looking for excellent Italian food at reasonable prices, Pitrelli's will exceed your expectations."

  • "Fantastic atmosphere, great food. We just moved to the area and tried this restaurant out for valentines day. Couldn't have asked for a better date spot. Everyone was very friendly, and my wife and I thought the price was reasonable for the quality of food. Great violinist, Frank, roams the restaurant playing requests. Would not hesitate to go back"

  • "Booked on Open Table weeks before, and in the height of full swing Valentine's Day evening we were seated immediately. Our server was wonderful, not rushing us at all, as we enjoyed a sumptuous meal. The salads were fresh, my Caesar had house made dressing that had a nice zing to it. My wife enjoyed the pork tenderloin special, while I enjoyed the veal and prosciutto pasta. The live violin player serenaded us with our song as we dined. The desert, the Valentine's special was a perfect size for two. A perfect evening to share with your sweetheart or friends, I highly recommend!"

  • "We tried Pitrelli's for Valentine's Day. Waitress Belinda suggested the Chianti - it was great. The range of sauces is great here - almost anyone can find one that they like - try the sampler as an appetizer with your bread and you'll know what to order. I had a split order of spinach and meat ravioli with the Arabbiata sauce, and my husband had the chicken parmesan. Both were great and took home leftovers of the chicken parm. I also had some of the soup - Italian wedding - and it was perhaps the best Italian wedding soup I've ever tasted! Cannoli and brownie for dessert - both yummy. This is not a cheap place - it is real homemade Italian in an unpretentious atmosphere. We will be back!"

  • "Every time we have dined here has been an outstanding experience. The food has always been beyond compare and the service has been outstanding. There are not enough words to describe the attention given to our party by our server, Lynette. She truly turned a great evening into an outstanding experience"

  • "We were a group of 7 people, on a Wednesday night. We had a great experience. The restaurant was moderately busy. I ordered the gnocchi and small pizza. Both were delicious!!! What impressed me was the huge amount of gnocchi I got. Other in the group had gnocchi, the lobster/shrimp ravioli, and the chicken simpatico. Every person loved their meal, and raved to me about what a great choice this place was. The only somewhat negative was the crab cake appetizer was not great, but I still give this restaurant 5 stars. I was puzzled by the comments about the less than stellar service. Our service was awesome. Our server was super friendly and checked in with us frequently, but not too much. Our food was also served fairly quickly."

  • "This was our first visit to Pitrelli's, but it won't be the last. The food was excellent, the wine was good, the service was acceptable - and the roaming violinist was precious. This will become a spot that we take friends and family members to for a special night out."

  • "This is one of our favorite spots after a long week to relax and enjoy a great homemade dinner. The pasta is wonderful and their nine sauces are made from scratch so you can get what you feel like that night. The best thing is that the atmosphere is like family. Belinda has been our server many nights and she shares her knowledge of the menu with first time dinners and is always ready to make a recommendation. We will be back sooner than later."

  • "The family pride shows at Pitrelli's with a broad menu of authentic Italian dishes all made to order with their own sauces. The atmosphere is nice for couples or groups, not too noisy as are many of the chain restaurants. There is a delightful senior gentleman who strolls around playing violin and entertaining guests. It was a nice experience."

  • "The food was beyond excellent and the service was Johnny on the spot to make sure every guest was well taken care of. The owner was friendly and made a point to get to know each person who visits his place. The sauce is all in house made and I must say the best I ever had. Highly recommend this place."

  • "Caesar salad was mediocre, and as such overpriced. Special of the night (pork loin and mushroom risotto) was terrific. Restaurant was busy, and we were sort of stuck with the table we got - a 2 top all the way in the back corner - kind of claustrophobic. Waiter spent at least 15 minutes clearing the 6 top beside us, which definitely took away from the meal. And I never got that second order of bread, in spite of several requests (and their bread is reallllly good). I will go back, as have been several times, and this is the only time I would not give it 4 stars."

  • "We frequently meet other people here and always sit in one of the booths in the bar area. You can talk with just each other or you can interact with everyone else - your choice. We love the bartender Kenny who always makes the evening fun. The pasta dishes are special and unique. We love the veal & prosciutto tortellacci and the ravioli stuffed with lobster, shrimp and scallops. We like that you don't feel "stuffed" because there are so many nice light sauces available. You can order 1/2 orders of most items or split the larger dishes. The finishing touch is 95 year old Jack who strolls through the restaurant with his violin playing Disney tunes for the families and whatever romantic serenade comes to mind for the couples."

  • "I really enjoyed the taste of my food, but felt the portion size was very small based on the price. 6 ravioli's with a couple mushrooms on top for almost $20.00 is extremely over priced, and to top it off a small tossed salad was not included! Service was also pretty slow. To walk out of a restaurant spending that much money and having a salad and entree and still being hungry when you leave is not a good thing. :( Overall if money and time are not an issue then yes! I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "This is now the fourth time I've been here and the food has been consistently great! The meat raviolis are my favorite. Every time I come the wine selection and pairing with my meal has been excellent, thanks to the knowledgeable weight staff. Always feel special and appreciated by the staff when I come for dinner."

  • "We picked This place because we have been here before (a few years ago) and enjoyed it. This time however it was terrible. The service was slow and our waiter was completely inattentive. I ordered mushroom ravioli and got seafood ravioli. The runner who brought it to the table was yelled at by our server in front of the tar! I felt really bad for the kid. When we finally got our food it was just gross. Chicken parm was left halfway untouched by my husband who normally loves it. The pizza ordered by our friends was a big thick doughy greasy mess. The mushroom ravioli was floating in a watery broth. Next time we want a meal like this we could go to Olive Garden frankly and get a better tasting meal a whole lot less money."
