Pig & Finch GastropubHooding Weekend in KCWe chose Pig & Finch first because it was next to our hotel, but after eating there we would come back for the Food. We were there with the Mother of our Graduate for quiet dinner of just the 3 of us and despite the near tornadic activity outdoors we felt like we are in another world. We had the Fried Chicken, which was Sunday Nights Featured Entree and it was fantastic. Our server had suggested it as her favorite and it did not disappoint.
We will definitely come back.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh food, excellent service! This restaurant operates on a " farm to table" concept, and the quality of the food certainly reflects that commitment. French toast is a specialty, and the raspberry topping eliminates the need for syrup. I had the eggs Benedict, and our server noticed that I had received the vegetarian option (artichokes and spinach) instead of the traditional before I did, and replaced the order (even though I told him it wasn't necessary). As a result I was able to try both versions, and both were excellent. Canadian bacon thick and flavorful, but a bit bland after tasting the amazing vegetarian option.
Service was impeccable, including timing of conversations. Highly recommend for a relaxing, instead of harried, Sunday brunch!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time at P&F for lunch.First time at P&F for lunch. Service and atmosphere are the drivers here. While lunch was nicely presented, it was expensive. I think dinner is a better bet. When the lights are low, the clubby atmosphere and unique menu shine.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food in a jinxed locationFood was excellent. Crafted cocktails were just OK. OVERALL A GREAT EXPERIENCE.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful time.We had a wonderful time. A member of our party has dietary restrictions and the chief came to our table to speak with her and go over the menu. Wonderful time and amazing food!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Great brunch menu and we are so happy they open at 9 AM. We're glad to have you in Leawood Park Place!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNice lunchWe really enjoyed our lunch. Food was very good. Staff are very friendly. We will definitely go back!4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI've read the other reviewsI've read the other reviews and am genuinely amused by other people's comments. It's a great place, food is great, staff is friendly and outgoing, and overall a fun place to grab a beer and a bite of food made from scratch. I've been here 10 times since it opened in December and its a great spot a half mile from my home. No complaints.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile we got off to a slowWhile we got off to a slow start--they seem annoyed at our request for a booth rather than the table they picked out--things did get better. We were put off when we were asked to stand in the restaurant while our greeter returned to the desk to see if they could accomodate our seating request (it was early and there were few other diners) and grudgingly seated us in a booth next to the kitchen, not the one we requested, noting "we have a lot of reservations"..."yes, we know, we are one of them" we replied.
But the food and service were good; well prepared, appropriate attention from server and "boss." We did find it a bit strange that the "drink specials" heralded on a sign outside the front door only applied to bar seating;diners pay more4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPig and Finch Leawood.A really fun atmosphere. Seems to be pet friendly in the outdoor dining area. Food was awesome. I recommend the short rib ragout grilled cheese. Great wine and beer selection. Was a little on the noisy side with patron conversations. Has a good English pub theme. Price is moderate.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen waiter told us the OvenWhen waiter told us the Oven Roasted Chicken Salad was not available for lunch, my heart sank - I was so looking forward to it. However, it did provide an opportunity to try something new. We started with pretzel bites which were out of this world, amazing. I ordered the special and my friend ordered the salmon salad and, again, the food here is just so tremendously good. Great ambiance. For a "work" lunch, it's more than I like to spend but I have to say it is WORTH it.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Sunday brunch was wonderful. The Sunday brunch was wonderful. Our party had the lemon toccata pancakes, the waffle with the maple pecan syrup and the potato "hash browns". Everyone raved account the pancakes, I had the waffles which were delicious, the little rectangular chunks of crisp bacon mixed in the syrup/topping was perfect for this dish. Even though all of us were full, we had to try the donut holes. The lemon sauce was great on them. The potato dish was a smash as well. One diner who doesn't case for any version of Hash browns said he would even order it. The decor is pleasing. We really want to go again to try the items on the regular menu which were appealing, however I think we will make it to brunch again3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprised! This is the first time I had eaten at Pig&Finch and won't be the last. The staff was very friendly and accomadating. I know it was Easter but their brunch was phenomenal. I will definately return. The bar is great and the wine list is nice. I would recommend to anyone visiting the south area of KC (Johnson County) and anyone who lives here. I thought the food would be too gamey given the name but it was not for a someone who watches their diet.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first visit andThis was our first visit and we had a fabulous Sunday brunch! The food was truly outstanding and the service was friendly and professional. This restaurant will be on our list to visit often!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI've had two experiences atI've had two experiences at Pig & Finch and both were great! Lots of choices (even for picky eaters). Very knowledgeable and attentive wait staff. Love that it is an Open Table restaurant too!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful Easter BrunchWent to Pig and Pinch for Easter Brunch and had a wonderful experience. The menu was edited for the day so didn't get the opportunity to try some of the more interesting menu items. However, we had a delightful meal. I had the crabmeat omelette and it was perfect. Omelette's, while simple, not are not often cook to perfection in a restaurant setting, but this one was. We also had cocktails where I had a drink that I have never experienced, a pickle cocktail, don't remember the exact name. It was amazing and unique. I love Hendricks gin and this gin with pickle essence was a delight. It is not often you find a unique Gin drink. Overall, I am looking forward to going back and experiencing more of this gastronomic pub!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWait staff was great. FoodWait staff was great. Food was good; although more limited than I was told ahead of time; which wasn't good!! I understand why they would limit Easter brunch selections... I just wish that I would have been informed ahead of time so I would not have given everyone bad info!! We have a lot of picky eaters in the family, unfortunately!! The Mimosas were also quite tasty :)3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe menu offers a varietyThe menu offers a variety of choices. The shortrib cheese sandwich was wonderful. The bacon brittle was unique. The cassoulet is healthier than the French cassoulet. I have been twice in one week and plan on taking a friend for her birthday this week.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI went for Easter Brunch,I went for Easter Brunch, beautiful day and sat outside on the patio.Quiet and serene setting. Our waitress, Emily, was wonderful..she was freindly, knew the menu and was very attentive. The Menu selection was limited, but it had very unique items, and we all had a hard time deciding. Ordered Bagel and Lox for the table and it was wonderful with fried capers. I ordered the Poached eggs with Cornbeef Hash and it was very yummy. My daughter got the crab omlette which was good, but VERY rich. Also, I asked for a Bloody Mary that was NOT spicy and I have to say....it was the BEST Bloody Mary that I have ever ordered out!! Not an every day place to eat, but a great place to try normal food with a twist. I would definitely go there again!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! Great restaurant.Delicious! Great restaurant. Service was perfect and food was perfect.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food !Having been to a couple of "gastropubs" in the past few months - and not finding anything really impressive about either of them - I wasn't sure what to expect of Pig & Finch. We are BIG 801 Chophouse fans, so armed with the knowledge that they were responsible for bringing this new spot up and running, we decided to give it a try. We are glad we did ! The service was outstanding, the wine list very, very good, and the food was certainly tasty !! We started with the blue cheese & chips (awesome!!) and the fried bread & butter pickles (also awesome !!!), and then had the BLAT sandwich and tomato soup. Both were very good, though the BLAT was certainly the star of the meal.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visit to P&F. LikedFirst visit to P&F. Liked atmosphere and menu. Community table was beautiful but remained empty throughout the night. Craft cocktails were very pricey. Will return for brunch.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at this new pub. We really enjoyed the entire experience. The decor reminded me of the SoHo hotspots we frequent while in NYC. The food was fantastic, our braised pork belly and flatbread was better than expected. The cocktails were expertly crafted and the vibe of the bar was really fun. I wish they had a more approachable beer list, but overall its great!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had Sunday breakfast, theWe had Sunday breakfast, the food was delicious, the service was great and very reasonably priced! We will definitely go again and also try them for dinner!3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth Checking Out!I wasn't sure what to expect with Pig & Finch, but we were looking to try something new, and we're so glad we did! The staff was amazing-very friendly and warm. There were some items on the menu that I was unsure of, for instance the bone marrow, but we tried it, and I'm glad we did! They have remodeled the entire place, and it looks great! And they have different beers on tap that you typically don't find at other restaurants, and I found a new favorite beer because of it!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood place for happy hourI said 'no' to recommending the restaurant only because 'maybe' wasn't an option. The service was great, the atmosphere was very nice and if I were to go back, would try the bar for drinks and flatbread pizza only. The other main course dishes I had weren't very good so I would recommend for happy hour gathering.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for business dinners,Great place for business dinners, upscale atmosphere, professional staff and many food options for varied tastes.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDid not care for the food.Did not care for the food.
