A word from Phillips Seafood
Classic Casual Dining: Phillips new Baltimore location, is an exciting and easy blend of vintage and modern, with a nod to the longstanding tradition of Phillips restaurants. Phillips at the Power Plant sits directly on the water, just a few steps away from the old Light Street Pavilion location, in the iconic renovated Power Plant industrial building. The innovative redesign of the interior by Carl Myers and Marcie DeLaRosa shows off gleaming, rich woods and jewel toned stained glass fixtures, distressed finishes and antiqued mirrors juxtaposed with a modern, open kitchen.Continued

  • "Service was great and the outdoor dining on the water was wonderful. Sangria was cold and delicious and I recommend getting by the pitcher. The food was tasty and plenty of it. I would go back again but would try other seafood dishes because they have a huge menu and it was hard to choose.."

  • "This was our second visit to Phillips and it was even better than the first visit. We were promptly seated even though we were very early for our reservation. The service was exceptional. The food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Went for a birthday celebration. The food was wonderful and the staff was excellent on all levels. There was a convention and the restaurant was crowded but it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves. We also LOVE the valet parking!! Good time."

  • "My husband and I were visiting Baltimore for a conference. We enjoyed everything about our evening. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The food, (crab dip, oysters, broiled seafood platter) was delicious. Our server was very pleasant, prompt and never intrusive. The manager stopped by our table and we had a lovely conversation about our meal and the bottle of wine we ordered. All of the staff made us feel very welcome and valued as guests."

  • "It was my first time in Baltimore and wanted to eat something better than typical chain restaurant fare. I was staying at the Renaissance Hotel Harbor PLace. Since I was new to Baltimore and did not have a car I had no desire to travel far. The Hotel suggested Phillips since I mentioned I was interested in seafood and I did not want to break the bank. The service at Phillips was great. Very nice staff. I could have been seated but I decided to eat in the bar/lounge. You have access to the full menu there and you can see outside. On the day I went there was piano player who played very well and sang popular tunes well also. I of course had crab cakes which were perfect. My main course was salmon with crabmeat."

  • "My beau and I dined for my birthday dinner our reservation was at 9pm, when we checked in we were seated immediately, and our server immediately took our drink order. We enjoyed every minute of our experience, the food was delicious, the attentiveness of the server and even down to the live music. Highly recommend this restaurant for for a great seafood dining experience. Five Stars!!!!!"

  • "If you are staying near Inner Harbor then don't miss Phillips. It is a Baltimore classic. The new location is much nicer than the previous one. Not gourmet but better than average and lively. The night we were there a live band kept us entertained. I will be returning."

  • "My fiancé and i had a great experience. Our waitress was training but still did an awesome job. We would definitely go back next time we visit baltimore! We booked on open table for 645, got to the restuant at 640 and we were taken to our table right at 645."

  • "We visited Baltimore from Atlanta this week and had reservations for a party of six at 6:15. The hostess was very pleasant upon our arrival, but soon the excited feeling ended. We were escorted toward the back of the restaurant only to have to stand awkwardly in the middle of the dining room while a very unpleasant, grumpy female waitstaff/manager told the hostess we could not be seated yet and to wait. This was a bit off-putting. One person in our party ordered the sea scallops, which were over cooked and I ordered the Ultimate Crab Cake, which was very dry and had a strong smokey taste. Not at all the level of cuisine one expects when paying over $45 per plate. I am hopeful this is not Phillips typical service."

  • "While the food was good, I would have to say that I was displeased with the wait time before being seated. I had a reservation for 8:30 p.m. however, I was not seated until 9:20 and I had to continue to inquire from the hostess about how much longer the wait time would be. This just didn't go over well seeing as though I had hungry guest, just sitting and waiting. After being seated, things improved tremendously."

  • "Everything was very enjoyable - food had great blends of flavor and service was outstanding. Shortly after we arrived a live pianist began playing in the bar - hubby and I both enjoyed it. Not loud and raucous, quite tasteful, was able to talk over it. Certainly the place lived up to its reputation, though we needed to wear our coats because it was very chilly in the restaurant."

  • "When I am in Baltimore, I always look forward to a childhood favorite.. But they moved locations and changed their concept, not in a good way! A $43 crab cake? Shirley Philllips can't even make one worth that! Our meal was very disappointing, especially for what we spent!"

  • "I used OpenTable for reservations. Two thumbs up. Recommend Valet parking. The facility was gourgous. The wait staff was outstanding. The seafood was good; but not outstanding. I am a local; it's easy to get good seafood in Md. but the entire experience w a cut above."

  • "While I understand Phillips may be for tourists, I was one and I really enjoyed my experience. It was an easy to find meet up spot and I was able to get the crab cakes I wanted in addition to several other seafood items that I had been wanting to try. I appreciated a long selection and some sampler plates. Wine list was not overwhelming either. The waiter was very enthusiastic and humurous and came over the right amount of times."

  • "Both my wife and I were excited about trying Phillips Seafood Restaurant because of the Phillips brand with their exquisite crab cakes. Well, our expectations were met and exceeded by the variety of seafood options complimented by an impressive wine list. Whatever seafood choice you make, do try to add on the crab cakes because they are simply delicious, fresh and plump with whole crab meat."

  • "Food was excellent even though overly priced for certain items. For example the "Ultimate Crab Cake" Is really just two tiny crab cakes mushed into one. The taste is on point but not worth $43 especially if the setting is the outdated "Cheers" bar. The staff is amazing and I believe they belong in a much more elegant restaurant due to the exquisite service. Portions are reasonable for some dishes and for some lacking. I would rather go to G & M because they have fair prices especially if the atmosphere is not a concern. My family and I had never been to Phillips, I still had high hopes when they decided to renovate ESPN zone but didn't realize it was going to be a throwback to the 90's decor with the black and white checkered tiles."

  • "We went for lunch expecting to get good seafood. But is was tasteless and of low quality, more like what you get at a fast food place."

  • "Phillips is a must do when in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. They easily accommodated our group. The waitress was flexible with special requests on the menu, there was even a gluten free menu. She even managed to split the cost on our separate checks for items that we shared off the menu. Loved the piano playing during dinner. We were so happy that we came back the next day for lunch!"

  • "Expected better food, better service, better environment... And it seems to be over prices on purpose, like just to keep up with some of the other restaurants in that area."

  • "Had a business dinner with my boss whom had never had authentic Maryland Crab. We ordered the Crab Saute and it was very good. Love the sour dough bread too. The Key Lime pie was delicous!! I had it wrapped to go to eat later back at the hotel and it was perfect. Generous porition, tangy sweet, you could taste all the quality ingrediants that went it to making it. If you like "fresh" Key Lime - this is the place!"

  • "The service was excellent; waitress was very attentive to our needs. Food was good and it was received in excellent time. It was hot and very tasteful. There was a musician playing in the lounge area and he was good. Overall enjoyed this experience. Will return and visit again."

  • "My wife and I really enjoyed the food, wine and service. We tried a Spanish Rioja (red) wine that was very good. The crab cakes were outstanding and the Mahi Special came with a pineapple salsa that made the dish. We finished with the New York cheesecake that was especially smooth and creamy. Our server was very attentive and personable. We will be back!"

  • "The place was busy, but not too crowded. It is a very large place! Not too noisy - live music was in the adjacent room which was fine for us. It made for a nice background sound. Tables were not too close together. Aaron was excellent at taking care of us. He brought us wonderful bread fresh out of the oven. Great draft beer in 3 sizes - 12, 16, 24 oz. We loved the Loose Cannon Hop3 IPA! 3 types of raw oysters at $2 each - we had a dozen to split two ways and had 2 each of each kind - they were great. We shared the premium seafood special and were not disappointed. Too full for the wonderful desserts we saw being shown on a large tray - maybe next time. This is definitely worth trying if you are near the waterfront."

  • "Great food and service... I made a reservation online and told the host when i arrive. However they failed to make note of it so i received a phone call and had 2 staff members hunting me down after i was seated. They weren't even busy at the time."

  • "The appetizer and the drinks were ok but unfortunately the main course came 2 minutes after we received our appetizer and we are sure it was not made fresh but kept warm when we asked to take it back so we can finish our appetizer first. The only desert that looked good was not available because, as the server mentioned, something happened to the batter. We also had to deal with some highly intoxicated women who were placed at the table next to us. They were loud and obnoxious and ruined what was supposed to be a romantic evening. It was a very disappointing evening, especially since it was our only evening in Baltimore."

  • "As visitors, we were pleased with menu that represented Baltimore and able to meet a variety of tastes. Everyone was pleased with their choices and the server was helpful and creative in her advice: about a choice between crab soups, she gave descriptions of each and said she likes a half/half mixture of the two which turned out to be excellent. As a brussels sprouts lover, I was very pleased with the side dish: the generous portions meant we ate well and had extra to carry home and the flavor of the dish, browned with bacon, was outstanding. The prices were as expected and we found the quality and quantity left us feeling well treated: It's been added to my list of places worth remembering!"
