Perla's offers fresh fish and oysters flown in daily from both coasts with an emphasis on sourcing from the Gulf of Mexico and simple, clean preparations. The bar makes delicious coastal cocktails and the wine list is stocked with fun sparkling, rosé & white wines.

  • "We started with really fresh raw oysters from different parts of the country....briny and just the right size! For our entree, we had the oak grilled Texas Gulf Redfish on the halfshell (cooked perfectly), our sides that we shared were the lobster, cheese and green onion grits (with tender pieces of lobster in it); brussel sprouts that were crispy on the outside and lemony (delish). All of the food was served nice and hot (a definite MUST for us!) Our server, Molly, was very professional and friendly. Will definitely be going back!"

  • "We enjoyed a delicious meal at Perla's on Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy, almost to the point of being uncomfortably crowded. That would be our only complaint, as we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We ate inside, but there is also a large outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant. Even though this was a blistering August evening, the fans & misters made it reasonably comfortable outside. I had the Alaskan halibut with lump crab & risotto. My wife enjoyed perfectly prepared scallops. We each had the crab Louie with fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Delicious!"

A small request for a modification of the preparation of the fish entrée, resulted in an over-cooked piece of fish. Finally, our server was a bit clueless. Must have been new.   • "I'd heard RAVES about Perla's. "The oysters are pricey, but worth every penny." So upon ordering a $22 *half* dozen oysters from around North America, I felt like the flavor, though different from Texas Gulf and other East Coast oysters I've had, wasn't really any *better*...especially for more than 100% more money. The service was superb. I love the staff at Perla's. The ambience was really not that great. It's a pretty building and the decor is nicely done. But it was as loud and echo-y as a Chuck E Cheese. With the weather being upper 90s and humid, sitting outside was not a desirable alternative. Upon graciously paying and leaving after 6 oysters and 2 drinks, we went to Quality Seafood and ate many, many oysters."

  • "Perla's never disappoints. I usually order a fresh fish dish but heard the lobster roll was the best in town so my fiance and I had to try. Perfect. Mind you I have never been to Maine so I can't compare an authentic lobster roll from the region but I don't know if it can get better. The bread was dense and sweet. The single piece of bibb lettuce was a nice compliment. The lobster had a hint of cream from the mayo but not too much that overpowered the lobster itself. It added a great tang to the meat. It was stuffed to the brim and messy. Messy in this case was just right. Thumbs up as always."

  • "Had a great meal with my mom and girlfriend. The food was great. The octopus appetizer is amazing and we shared a plate of red snapper and the semolina shrimp. They were amazing. The only downside is the inside is a bit loud. Sometimes we struggled to carry conversations."

  • "I hope a wonderful lobster roll. It was better than ordering a whole lobster because there was no work needed to get the meat. It was perfectly done. It was more tender than broiled lobster tail. This is how I'm eating lobster from now on. The roll toasty and the lettuce fresh and there was drawn butter for dipping or to drizzle on. Yum! My husband had a banana pancake with blueberries and bacon. It was so huge he could eat only half. We'd definitely go back."

  • "We dined here with fiends for dinner. We started with cocktails and I chose poorly. Our server was happy to reurn. Y drink and I chose better the second time. Who knew Mezcal tasted like burned rubber! Lesson learned. Brussel sprouts were a standout. Entrees were enjoyed by all. Salted butterscotch pots de creme was a HUGE hit. It was so good we all wished we had our own."

  • "Excepting the short wait beyond our reservation time, our Perla's night ran pretty wonderfully. We built our meal via the appetizer and sides menus a la tapas and were rewarded for that choice. Food came out very quickly and everything ordered was tasty. Sides were griddle cakes and lobster/cheese grits. Grits win (no thanks to the chunks of lobster mixed within), but a close race overall. Ahi tuna tartar was enjoyably fresh and tasty, but paled in comparison to the oysters/bacon combo, the grilled octopus, and the steamed mussels. Egads, those three were good. For appetizers, all the portions were good sized so the two of us left full, happy, and already planning our return visit."

  • "The food was great other than the Swordfish which for to taste was overdone and dry. The very helpful and cheerful waitperson spoke with the manager and offered the three of us free desserts since we chose not to wait to have replacements cooked. We learned we should have asked for the fish to be cooked medium-rare or medium at most. We loved both the crispy, fried just-right oysters, raw oysters and fried okra and one of our party was crazy about the salted-caramel butterscotch pots de creme."

  • "Tomato gazpacho with crab was very tasty - they even divided it for two for $1 up charge. Mussels were outstanding and plentiful. Had the Hendricks special martini with sage, lemon, and lime - in fact the husband had two. That constituted an ample lunch, and we didn't need to order more. When we come to Austin, we always have to eat at Perla's. Parking in the garage behind is convenient and ticket is validated. I don't think you'll be disappointed - we never are!"

  • "I have a little doggie so she comes everywhere with us so I value beautiful patio dining. The staff serves her water with the rest of us and the service was impeccable for the rest of the night. The fish is always fresh as can be and always try for the specials bc those are here for a limited time and season! The halibut cheeks was seriously one of the best fish dishes I've ever had in my life. Top notch. Oh and get the flour less chocolate torte. I don't even like chocolate. I bring all my guests here."

  • "My wife got a $150 gift card as a present from her company. We got a babysitter and headed out. Drinks: caesar and a sea turtle. Drinks: both quite good - caesar: strong and spicy; sea turtle: very refreshing... tipsy strawberry lemonade. Starters: house-made pop tarts (not upscale, didn't fit the menu, sprinkles tasted cheap) and a shrimp/white fish ceviche (light, zesty, very fresh). Main: crab florentine (amazing crab, english muffin was buttery/crisp, perfect poached egg) and lobster omelette (light, though eggs overcooked, lobster was very good). Overall: sadly underwhelming. Seafood was incredible, but each dish left something to be desired. $110 overall, left huge tip because no return expected."

  • "I have been to Perla's several times, and I am never disappointed by the food or the service. There are so few restaurants in Texas with such a diverse selection of fresh seafood. I've ordered a different fish entree every time. Beyond the main dish, the cocktails are always unique and unexpected, and I still have yet to beat the Salted Butterscotch Pots de Creme for dessert. It is one of the best desserts I've had anywhere in the world."
