A word from Peche Seafood Grill
Peche Seafood Grill. In French, "pêché" means "catch." Inspired by trips to Spain and Uruguay, Peche will focus on seafood cooked over an open wood fire. Diners can watch as the seafood, along with meats and vegetables, cooks over the flames. The dishes, though, will still be rooted in Louisiana. The restaurant is a partnership between chefs Donald Link (Herbsaint, Cochon), Stephen Stryjewski (Cochon) and Ryan Prewitt, although Prewitt will have primary authority over the new kitchen.
Housed in a restored 19th-century building, Peche will share the modern aesthetic of Cochon. According to the Link Restaurant Group, the restaurant will have "high, pickled-wood ceilings; large, soaring windows; a thick-topped Cypress bar; and a marble top oyster bar."

Peche quickly elevated itself to my favorite seafood restaurantin New Orleans. In a city with a wonderful bounty of seafood, my restaurants have a heavy hand with deep frying and such. Peche respects the flavors of the sea and serves wonderful flavorful dishes the let the seafood shine through.

First time at Peche Seafood Grill. Great service and food was amazing, flavours all the way and exquisite fish. Nice decor and good ambiance. A bit noisy for a romantic dinner but it's definitely a restaurant to go when you're in New Orleans.

I will never think of pink lady peas in the same way again, now that I've experienced what the Chef at Peche can do with a fresh little pea. This underlay perfectly supported my scrumptious and very nice-sized portion of fresh cobia. We had ordered the fried artichoke hearts the night before at another place in town and they were inedible. Peche's were vibrant and not greasy! I've already told everyone at work about those artichokes! the BBQ shrimp were incredible as was the very large and bright Rose' we enjoyed with our lunch. Thank you!!!!

We went to Pêche on a Friday night. It was pretty crowded and very loud but we had reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered the hush puppies (phenomenal) and the shrimp bread (I think that's what it was - it was just ok) to start. My husband got the shrimp roll (he said it was a little heavy on the mayonnaise but every shrimp roll is!) and the rest of us shared the whole redfish. It was wonderfully seasoned & delicious. The only complaint I would have is that it was small (the table next to us got a larger fish) but it was great. We also got the fried Brussels sprouts which we all loved. We finished with key lime pie (good but not the best), mojito sorbet (unique and delicious), and pineapple cake (yum)! Overall great food!

We were trying to get in for dinner but could not get a reservation. So we settled for lunch. Boy are I glad we did. We started off with two dozen oysters for the 4 of us. Only complaint is that they came at the same time as the main courses. So they became dessert and they were fresh and big. Two of us had the redfish on brioche, which was like the best tuna melt you ever had. The others had drum fish and a shrimp roll and they were totally pleased with their lunches. Portions are on the larger side, but that did not stop us from making all gone. Only two more words to add...GO THERE!

Tourist trap. I'm from Nola, and restaurants like these are rare outside of the French Quarter. 1st, I go to the bar, and the bartender asks me to leave the service area. I did, but instead of then taking my drink order, the bartender proceeded to ignore me.... On to the meal. We ordered our drinks and 2 apps which were fried nonsense. Waitress was very nice, but we had to wave her down to give her our entree order. The entrees came out quickly -too quickly to be fresh. My wife had the cobia, which was undercooked. She sent it back. I had the drum, which looked like blackened catfish swimming in sauce. On the way out, the maitre d asked how the meal was, and my wife responded honestly. He got snippy, and I whisked us out the door.

This restaurant has been really hard to get into for dinner after winning that award. We went on Saturday for an 11:00 a.m. brunch, and we loved it. Great food and service. I liked that they had so many small plates, snacks, and sides. You could easily make a great meal out of them by sharing with the table. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our first visit and the staff was very accommodating. Most of the food was excellent. However, I ordered the $47 spiny lobster and couldn't eat it because it was so salty. Some of the other dishes were borderline salty. The server did not offer any kind of compensation, just "Did you like the rest of the meal?"

Peche was recommended by a coworker and after one visit, we decided it was definitely worth a return visit and have now been back again. The food is great, the staff is friendly and attentive without feeling like they're hovering or rushing. They also gave recommendations that seemed real rather than like pushing for a directed dish. The first time we didn't have reservations but were quickly seated at the oyster bar. There was no difference in the level of service, and we found out later that the oyster shucker that night had won 3rd place as the fastest in New Orleans. Lots of fun and good conversation! Definitely worth the price (which is not bad, by the way; cocktails are average/high but beers and wine by the glass reasonable.)

Loved the atmosphere, service was excellent. We enjoyed a couple of their signature cocktails-well made & tasty. Last but not least,I highly recommend sharing a piece of the salted caramel cake. New Orleans has a plethora of great restaurants but this one is particularly memorable. The food is creative and great for foodies. In addition, the service is exceptional. The wait staff are knowledgeable about the menu and provide just the right amount of attentiveness to guests. Love the fact that it is casual and located in proximity to a number of hotels and the WWII Musuem. Will revisit it when we are in New Orleans next.

I was looking forward to trying out this award winning "Best New Restaurant" and see how it stacked up. The food was really good. However, this was some of the worse service I have experienced in any New Orleans restaurant. We had three difference waitpersons come by our table. Even at that, it took forever to get our order taken. The third person who showed up at our table seemed more interested in providing us service. The food was very good. But there are many other restaurants in New Orleans with excellent service and excellent service that cost about the same for a meal. I am concerned if the renowned chef owners don't get their dining room service vastly improved this will be frequented by tourist but not reliable locals.

One of the best total dining experiences I have ever had. Cocktails, wine, food, ambiance, dessert, and after dinner night cap. Everything was stellar. The establishment has a great feel and decor. The menu is small but everything is great. We were recommended a fantastic wine. I plan to go back whenever i am in town. I was a little concerned when I read the last few reviews and there was some negative feedback on the service, noise level and food. But my fears were relieved after a few minutes as we were warmly met by the hostess and out waiter Tim served our group. As the room filled up it was definitely noisy but in an energetic and pleasant way. We decided to order all the small plates on the menu and we were not disappointed. All were deliciously prepared and Tim brought them out at different times so we wouldn't be overwhelmed with all our choices. The desserts were fantastic. Hoping everyone has a similar experience and that my review is not one of those that is misleading.

The food is overpriced and bland. I don't mind spending money on good food, but this is a case of it not matching its price point. A shame, since I had been looking forward to dining here. The wife and I got 6 different items, and only 1 garnered a thumbs up from us. On top of the bland food, the seating arrangement is horrendous. We reserved a dinner for two, but they sat us at a booth which shares with other diners. There was zero privacy. Looking around we notice that half the place was designed in this fashion. Very poor design. There are far too many good places in NO to bother wasting your money here. Don't bother going; we sure won't again.

Our most anticipated outing in New Orleans was sure to be Peche Seafood Grill, James Beard's best new restaurant. Unfortunately it is literally the loudest restaurant to which we have ever been. Not loud in a familiar or spirited way. It's like having a meal next to a jet engine. We had hoped the food would make up for the noise. Not so. My husband had the crab capellini and gulf shrimp. The shrimp were large and tasted fresh. The capellini was overwhelmed by the starch in the noodles and very bland. I had Drum which was so spicy that the fish was completely in the background. After an hour of trying to converse, we finally gave up and skipped dessert. The meal at Peche was above average but didn't meet the hype. Take a pass on Peche.

We had the ceviche and the tuna appetizer special and they were wonderful. The simple house salad was perfectly prepared. Then we both had the crab and chillies with cappellini which was outstanding. Place was packed at 6:30 PM in late July in New Orleans which tells you they are doing things right.

Made a reservation at least a week in advance. Requested a nice table for special occassion. Kyle sat us at the table next to the front door. I saw two tables open, one by the window one in the middle of the floor but much better than being next to the entrance. He would not give us either. After a few minutes he came over and moved us but was rude about it. He told us we were lucky he didn't make us wait and put us at a two top and than told us every table was the same. While we were having dinner I became aware of something I have never seen. A woman intensley patroled the dining room the entire time we were their staring at the customers and entering notes into an IPAD. Food is good but focus is totally on turning tables.
