Diner Reviews
  • "Absolutely LOVED the place, it was my first time dining @ Patrick's and I would highly recommend to ALL!!!!"

  • "My mom and I had appetizers and dessert on Fri night, ate outside. Coquille st Jacques and crab cakes with a dandy choc brownie/Creme brûlée/caramel dessert too."

  • "I took my bf and parents here for my Dad's birthday gift (he's french), and we had just spotted Patrick's a few weeks before while doing some shopping, so we decided to check it out. Very happy with the service, and the food was really good as well. We ordered one of the flambes as an appetizer, and then all order some kind of steak. The side salads are HUGE, and the steaks were delicious, despite being cook slightly longer than we had requested. I would definitely go back though. For 4 people to have a steak dinner, split a bottle of wine, 1 app and 1 dessert, our bill was about $125, which actually isn't too bad."

  • "We had the crab cakes, mussels, Sea Breeze salad and side of gratin potatoes. Everything was delicious. Guess from the menu I was expecting it to be "fancier" inside, and it was very casual. But the service was friendly and fast and the desserts were HUGE and so good. If I had a small complaint--the tables are very small and the plates and other dishes are quite large, so you run out of places to put things. But that is a super nit-picky thing. We will be back---go for the fries!"

  • "We are so glad to have Patrick's available to us. We spent a great deal of time in France (and Paris!!) and this restaurant gives us the same happy feelings. Also love all the goodies available for take out. Thank you Patrick!!"

  • "New to the area, we decided to check out the brunch. Not impressed. We are fairly discerning when it comes to "proper" coffees. The lattes' temperatures were cool and the espresso tasted like drip coffee. The pastries were not too bad. Had a blueberry muffin which was very good as well. Had a variety of egg dishes (scrambled, omelets, and quiches) amongst the 6 of us. The eggs were good but the accompanying meats were barely warm. I would have hoped they would have been prepared to order, but minimally keep them hot. Our biggest complaint was the service. Asked for a chocolate croissant to warmed and it was not. Sent it back and it came back cool again. Order another and we had to remind the waiter 4 times before it finally came."

  • "I went with a group of girlfriends at 5:30 on a Saturday. Maybe the 2 full tables at that time of day should have been a clue. I thought the dinner menu was pretty pricey (I looked at the lunch menu online which was a lot more reasonable) for the atmosphere of the restaurant. The Bistro salad I ordered came with bleu cheese and the waiter said no other cheese could be substituted as the craisins, walnuts, and cheese toppings were already mixed together (good luck to anyone with a nut allergy!). The salad came with no breadstick or baguette or anything - which was kind of disappointing in a French restaurant! Overall nothing was terrible but nothing was great enough to tempt me back."

  • "The patio is well acquainted with beautiful flower boxes. The service and food were excellent. It was a quiet morning ... Not the bustle and noisyness that comes with many breakfast places."

  • "Our waiter didn't know answers to our menu questions and we thought he was a little short with us and somewhat rude."

  • "Waited over a half hour for a scheduled reservation and the food seemed to take quite a long time."

  • "I took my wife to Patrick's for Mother's Day brunch and we had a great time. The food was really good and it was nice to have a different cuisine. The kids loved the long pastry counter where they could see (and began for) all of the yummy desserts. We service was surprisingly good for a holiday brunch time. My only regret was that I didn't have room left to try the Ryan's cake. Next time! "

  • "Seating isn't ideal with all the traffic to and from the display cases and tables too close together but the food was very good and service was quick. The bakery had so many great options the only problem was making a decision! "

  • "Patrick's Bakery in Maple Grove was wonderful. There were so many dinner choices, I definitely will be returning. Two of us had mussels which were great (especially when there is such good bread for sopping up the juice!) Mussels come with a huge cone of good tasting french fries. Our table also had the shrimp Eiffel and Sea bass, both of which they said were delicious. Prices are quite reasonable as are wine prices. Nice to see in a restaurant. So glad Patrick decided on Maple Grove. "

  • "In a sea of of suburban chain resteraunts, Patrick's is a treasure. The food and service is all firdt rate and the deserts are something yo die for. The prices are more than fair forcsuch high enf food."

  • "Lunch at Patrick's was good, not outstanding as I had hoped. My friend had the chicken burger which she said was ok. I had been looking forward to having the onion tart which I had eaten in France years ago and of which I still had very fond memories. The tart was quite oily with large chunks of almost raw onion, instead of the thinly sliced carmelized onions I remembered. Also, the crust was doughy instead of crisp. The side salad was pretty dull. However, to save the day, the "sara cake" was a decadent serving of sponge cake with chocolate ganache...really delicious! The place was crazy busy on a rainy day! Not sure I would go back again though."

  • "The Richfield location is much smaller and more intimate than their new place in Maple Grove. Maple Grove location is loud in the front but quieter in the back where we were seated. Still Happy Hour when we arrived and we all (4 of us) ordered most of our dinner off that menu which was great. I had the crabcakes which were nicely presented. Three mini crabcakes each nestled on top of a dollop of seafood sauce aeoli. The baguettes are awesome - thought we were in Paris. Hubby ordered the sliders which he enjoyed - not your basic burger sliders, but with a nice French twist - a slice of brie cheese. Shared a huge order of frites which we couldn't finish. Picked up some treats at the bakery on the way out - bakery is awesome. "

  • "We had the sea bass and mussels, both were excellent along with the fries and the wine. We had reservations for seven pm and were seated right away. The service was great. We will return again."

  • "Patrick's is the only quality resteraunt in a sea of chains and fast food joints. Every ting about it was fitst class."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "The food was excellent, but unfortunately our waitress was very rude. We did inform management, who apologized. I will not dine in the restaurant again based on this experience- there are many other options in the area which also have good food, but provide excellent service as well. They do however offer take-out and have delicious sandwiches and pastries so would be especially nice on a beautiful day to take a picnic to a park - much better option than being served by a rude waitress. In addition, the menu lists many seasonal items which were not available during our visit, the menu should reflect current offerings."

  • "When you are craving really good food and drink, Patrick's is the place. They are attentive to reservations and in serving. The wine selection and menu selections are varied and great. A big plus is the case full of all kinds of goodies to take home."

  • "We met my cousin and his wife here at their recommendation. We were seated directly across from the desserts, and given my insatiable sweet tooth, I was distracted all evening until I actually had the lemon meringue tart - to die for...;) Appetizer was AMAZING - Gruyere cheese, onions, flatbread. Craving it now. Beef brisket salad was also an outstanding entree. Server was very good, but forgot our waters mid-meal, which we were all needing!!! We will be back, time and time again despite the drive from a southern suburb."

  • "This was our second trip in to Patrick's for dinner. The first trip both my wife and I had outstanding meals. The Mussels Meuniere and the Merguez Burger were outstanding. On our second trip however, the Mussels were sold out (understandable, this was a Sunday night, the Mussels are a Fri-Sun special and are really good). We opted for the Scallops and Shrimp and the Grilled Salmon. Unfortunately the Salmon was so overdone it was dry and the problem with the Scallops and Shrimp, were the proportions. There were three of each surrounding about a half pound of sweet potato puree (way too much). Their bakery and other dishes are quite good, so we are hoping this was an aberration."

  • "We love love love this restaurant --- We are so happy to have them out in Maple Grove and we hope they will be here for a very long time -- the Food is fantastic.... I wish there was a bigger breakfast pastry selection... Quiche is outstanding - we always buy some to take home for the next day... Salads are fantastic... and you cannot go there without having the baked Brie! It is the best ever...."

  • "I didn't think I would really like this place because it is advertised as a french restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Beef Bourguignon which was served over fettuccini. I thought that was kind of an odd combination, but it worked. Although, I have to say the pasta was a bit overcooked and was not made fresh. Everyone seemed pleased with their food and choices. They also have a bakery from which you can choose your dessert. Delicious!, and just the right size for sharing with another person. They have a lot of variety on the menu from inexpensive sandwiches and burgers to more extravagantly priced steaks and seafood. Something for everyone."

  • "So happy to have Patrick's in the Maple Grove area. Three people in my party enjoyed a dinner of Steak Salad, Beef Bourguignon, and Duck a l’orange. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. We finished the evening with a Passion Cake."

  • "We visited Patrick's for the first time Saturday evening. The place was very busy, high energy, but we were seated at a nice table behind the host stand. Our food was very good, the service was a little slow because they were busy. I would have liked a larger selection of wines by the glass. But decided on a beer instead. The dessert was one of the best I've had in years. We had the chocolate mousse on top of coconut sponge cake enrobed with Chocolate ganache. Prices are fair. Definitely will be back soon!"

  • "It was my two girlfriends' and my first time at Patrick's. We were all very pleased with the service, food, and overall experience. Our server was extremely pleasant and was very attentive to our table/needs. The food was excellent and we were all surprised at how moderately priced the selections were. We arrived at 4:45pm so were given the 'lunch menu' (dinner menu comes out at 5pm), but that was quite alright with us. The portions (and prices) were great for an evening meal. I would definitely recommend Patrick's to anyone who has never been there. As our title states, all three of us were "very pleased"."

  • "I have been to Patrick's in Edina many times so I was happy to hear there was one in MG close to home. At first I though it was because it was new but after a couple months and a few tries it's fair to say it isn't very good. The manager here needs to get his act together. Every time there has been one issue or another. Slow service. Train your staff, figure out how to use that espresso machine and stop running out of things all the time. Staff seems confused and quite frankly we were too."

  • "I like that they take reservations, however we had poor service, and I thought the dinner menu was very limited. My server never brought my wine, when I later asked a Manager for it, he did get it, but she never apologized. Got our ticket and paid the bill- all with the dirty dishes still sitting on the table. Won't rush back."

  • "I love the food and the service at Patrick's. We have been there several times and always great. So glad they landed in Maple Grove. We need other choices for breakfast and brunch in Maple Grove that take reservations and are not a 2 hour wait."

  • "We were regulars at Patrick's when it was in Wayzata and we were sorry to see it go! So happy that it's back and close by in Maple Grove! The food is just as wonderful as before and the wine list has expanded. The sea bass and the halibut were delicious and the mussels and cream of mushroom soup delightful. We will return often!"

  • "My wife and I ate here on Friday evening. It was busy and has a pleasant vibe. The soup, salad and steak frites were good. Crab cakes were mushy and flavorless. The menu has french sounding entrees. But, all of the sandwiches are burgers. More disappointing, the baked goods and desserts, while attractive, were just mediocre. This restaurant will be disappointing to foodies."

  • "We have tried breakfast and dinner and both meals were less than average. Breakfast--eggs Benedict were without flavor (I mean really without flavor) as were the other breakfasts my party ordered. Dinner of the Beef Bourguignon was clearly heated in a microwave or bag. Some parts were boiling hot and others completely cool, and the pasta bed it came on was bland. Such a charming place inside and the desserts are really wonderful and flavorful. We will stop by for those (or pastries), but have given up on dining there, unfortunately."
