A word from Parma Trattoria Mozzarella Bar
Parma, Italy is located in northwest Emilia-Romagna and is known widely for its food, namely Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto de Parma. It is also famous for signature pastas that you fill, such as tortellini, ravioli, and anolini. Parma is an architectural hub as well, featuring one of the oldest universities in the world-the University of Parma. Parma's great fortune with good meats and cheeses is due in large part to the Po River plain, which lies within Emilia-Romagna's boundaries and happens to be one of the most fertile tracts of farmland in Italy. As the seasons change, so do the various crops and the flavor of the Parmesan.

In tune with the value's of the Emilia-Romagna's region, Parma Trattoria's philosophy is to use organic ingredients from local farmers, and green, unaltered products whenever possible.

  • "Who could resist a place with a mozzarella bar? Unfortunately, we decided to go with a caprese salad instead. While the mozzarella was good, there was way too much arugula on the plate and the tomatoes were typical grocery store fare, bland. I've never had a caprese without fresh basil until then; it needed basil. The olive oil that came with the bread was wonderful, as was the bread. My partner had scampi for his main course. He was pleased there were so many shrimp, but it was rather bland as well. My lobster ravioli was a disappointment. I needed to dump a lot of pepper, salt and parmesan on it before it had any discernable flavor. We opted for the tiramisu for dessert and this time we weren't disappointed. It was rich, but light."

  • "Excellent small plates - vegetables were cooked perfectly with light oil and seasoning. No heavy, drenching sauces to weigh down the fresh ingredients."

  • "We were so pleased to find this GEM of an eatery! My husband and I took two girlfriends ..all of us are seasoned travelers to Italy...on a week night . The menu offers a mix and match of "ITALIAN TAPAS "with an assortment of mozzarella..(.the burrata was FABULOUS )..., veggies, seafood, salads etc to share. It was delicious. Everything was so farm fresh and the presentation was Outstanding! We then shared the asparagus risotto...so creamy and tasty, veal piccata....light and flavorful, veal Marsala....very rich and tender and a spaghetti pasta with shrimp, garlic and oil made at my husbands request. Desert was apple pie al la mode and a great creme brûlée. Service was friendly, efficient and quick. FABULOUS DINING !"

  • "I'd never been to a mozzarella bar, but there's a first time for everything. I had a starter with mozzarella in it--just one kind; I think there were options to sample different types. Excellent. And I had some roasted Brussels sprouts which were good, not outstanding. This was lunch--you have to order food at the bar and then they bring it. But it took a moment to someone to appear to take the order at the bar. Kind of a nuisance. I think they do full service (i.e., server takes your order at your table) at dinner time."

  • "We had a great time for my wife's birthday celebration with grown kids and their significant others. Fun to watch the food prep on the big screen TV of the kitchen. Huge portions, no one had room for dessert or cake. Great wine, but we got the last bottle of the nightly special as our first bottle, had to switch to a regular selection for the second bottle."

  • "It was great to be able to sit outside. The staff is always very accommodating to Open Table diners + even when they are busy we never have to wait for a table. The food is always good, we love the pesto oil for bread. Unfortunately this time the waiter misinterpreted my order + brought me only the appetizer size. Although I finally got a main dish, my companions were finished so I had to take my meal home."

  • "We got lost on the way to the restaurant and when we called the person that gave us directions was extremely helpful plus I explained we were running late for our reservation. He said that was fine and when we got there...it was our server that gave us the directions!"

  • "We have been to Parma several times and have always had a great experience. The food is great and the service good."

  • "The food and wine were excellent. Love the online reservation system. We had a party of 9, and it worked great! The service was slow, slow, slow. We arrived at 8:15 p.m. and finally received baskets of bread at 8:52 p.m. Not kidding. Everyone was friendly, though."

  • "I had the portabello ravioli with were amazing. We started with the calamari which was a little disappointing. The dessert menu was great, the gluten free chocolate cake is amazing! The wine list had a lot of wines I had never heard if but they were all fantastic! It was very loud, difficult to have a conversation at a 4 person table. It was freezing, the doors were open for a cross breeze and almost every man and woman had their jacket on. When we asked to have it closed they did close it but not all the way- still very cold. The last thing, I completely judge a place by their ability to keep waters filled- even with large bottles we ran out of water and had to keep asking, that sucks! "

  • "Had the seafood risotto and the penne with a misto appetizer. Everything was prepared and served well. The portions are large. They always have a few special wines in rotation and they are always enjoyable. We'll be back!"

  • "We love the food here and always have a good meal. Service is decent if sometimes slightly amateurish; not really a problem but just be prepared that for some servers that aren't quite as seasoned. Note that they don't always get a reservation made via Open Table but then they get us in as quickly as they can."

  • "The linguine scampi is my favorite! And my husband loves the lamb. There is literally something for everyone--even gluten free-ers. We have seriously celebrated all the major family events at Parma this year: two 50th birthdays, an anniversary, a graduation, and a new job. My one and only complaint is that sometimes the wait staff seem a tad harried, and thus not as friendly as they could be. But perhaps this is because they are so busy, which is a direct result of the food being so delicious. "

  • "I would have given a 5 for mothers day brunch, but there were no kids menus and paying $18 for mac & cheese seemed a little silly. Otherwise waiter made concessions to suit our needs so all was well."

  • "Our food was great and we had great service in the beginning. However, a large group came in about halfway through and our service was less than ideal. The tables and chairs for the large group were not ready so the group had to stand in the front entrance talking for about 20 minutes. They obviously had a reservation so I'm not sure why it was not planned. Additionally, once the group was seated, our waitress was busy. There should have been more service staff available in anticipation of the large group."

  • "Our party of five, on the night of CU's graduation and the Friday before Mother's Day, had terrific meals and really fine service (from Lisa). We had entrees as well as samplings from the Happy Hour menu and everything was well-prepared and timely-served. We eat at Parma once every three weeks or so and have never been disappointed."

  • "Service was slow and inattentive. Ordered appetizer but it came 5 minutes after the main course was delivered. Told server to cancel after main course arrived but it was still delivered and we were still charged for it. Not impressed. Food was good. "

  • "The food and service, overall, were fine, though the brussel sprout appetizer was rather flavorless. But the place is very loud, which, unfortunately, seems to be the trend in restaurants these days. Having to yell to be heard by others at the table is not a pleasant dining experience."

  • "Seemed to be a bit loud, although there were a lot of people there. Terrific food and wait staff."

  • "This was our first visit. The ambiance is Spartan and slightly "food court-ish", but the food is good and a good value and the service was very good. Pasta carbonara was excellent but could have used something green in it to add some color and texture - peas or other vegetable. The Caprino Bruschetta appetizer was excellent. Rigatoni Amatriciana needed more red sauce. The cannoli was good. Very reasonable prices"

  • "My husband and I enjoyed dinner there at approx. 6:15 pm on a Friday evening - we were lucky to be seated immediately after making our last minute reservation on line. For an appetizer we had a house-made cheese with fried pizza dough - sinful but soooo worth it! Beet Salad was yummy and dinners were delicious. I look forward to returning to try the mozzarella (sp) bar! "

  • "Been here a few times and especially love to order small plates and from the Mozzarella bar. They must have just waxed the floors because they were scary slippery and my shoes had rubber bottoms. The hostess slipped and fell. Me and my friends husband were both having problems walking on them to a ridiculous level!"

  • "My friend and I enjoyed a great lunch there last week. She had a pasta dish and I had a crostino. Because it was her birthday they brought her a complementary piece of tiramisu. I highly recommend this restaurant. "

  • "Had dinner here with friends from California, the food and service outstanding. The server allowed us plenty of time to visit with friends, enjoy wine and bread, slowly order, savor the food, then linger over dessert, coffee and after dinner drinks. The pasta dishes were all great, and the setting was casually chic. The service was attentive but not hovering. Living in Boulder, this will be our go-to place for Italian."

  • "This is a good find, tucked into a strip mall area with chain restaurants in suburbia. They feature fresh mozzarella and house made pasta, great wine list and specials. The fish was cooked perfectly and the salads were generous and perfect temperature (not stuck in a refrigerator."

  • "This was our second visit and the food was great both times. The Ceasar salads were wonderful, not overly dressed, just right. My husband had Lasagne, which he has had a difficult time finding to his liking, but said this was one of the best he has had. Our group has tried a variety of items, and all were rated highly. This last visit, I had butternut ravioli, which I didn't particularly like, it was quite sweet. I had the lobster ravioli last time and it was very good. The place is busy, so can get kind of noisy, but you can still carry on a conversation. Both our visits were on Satuday nights and I would recommend reservations to prevent a wait."

  • "We have made return trips and will definitely plan more. The food is great. Although it's in a strip mall and a little out of the way, once you're inside you forget about where you are. The ambiance is moderate to up-scale, but it seems to me that families fare just a well as date-night couples. We love to support smaller, independent, local restaurants and Parma make it easy to do so."

  • "Good casual Italian restaurant. We had the carbonara and lasagna. Both dishes were good, but I wouldn't say it was anything noteworthy compared to other Italian food I've had. The server was excellent until we were finished. Then I got the feeling that she was rushing us out. There were other tables open and we weren't the only people eft in the restaurant. It soured the experience somewhat. Overall I'd say it's a good place, but I wouldn't recommend it for a special occasion. It's more of a casual place."

  • "I never hesitate to recommend Parma to others. I have never heard anything bad about the food, the service or the ambiance. This is a fantastic place to celebrate events or have a nice dinner for 2. We brought some foodie friends with us this time and they absolutely loved it. Our server this time was absolutely fantastic- appeared when you needed her but didn't harrass us, made recommendations and checked in on a regular basis. I will, of course, be back to Parma... maybe even within the week!"

  • "This was my eighth time back to Parma and I love it every time I come! The food is reasonably priced considering the quality and the presentation of the food (I personally recommend the pasta dishes!). Tonight I took my girlfriend here for a date and we had great service, were seated very quickly, and were very satisfied with our food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food, wants to impress, or have a great meal with their family."

  • "We just left the place and I wanted to write a review fast so I would not forget. This has just turned into my favorite place in Denver. The quality of the food is excellent, the creamy mozzarela... Let me said that twice: the creamy mozzarella. Just fantastic. Service was good and the place inside is fine but not very fancy. Don't worry, the food makes it up for that and then some. We will be back. Often"

  • "A friend recommended Parma to me, and I had never even heard about it even though I live 2 minutes away! This was a GREAT spot. We made it for the happy hour, and it was a steal. I'm from the East coast, and we know pizza. It's hard to find good pizza in Colorado for some reason, but these guys make a damn good one...and cheap! Also tried the artichoke appetizer...really really good! Definitely coming back."

  • "My husband and I had been anxious to try this place, as we'd smelled it often enough when in the neighborhood, and it seemed promising. Generally, if you like fried food and kids, this is the place for you. Otherwise, you might want to make another choice."
